For Clinton Supporters Pledging their Votes to McCain
236.com — Dear ex-Hillary fans who are showing their support for her by ignoring her call to support Obama and supporting McCain. Before you're allowed on the band wagon, we are asking you to sign the following oath. A McCain presidency will mean different things for different people, so we have tailored the oaths accordingly.

- locamama, on 06/11/2008, -11/+2Sorry, you didn't convince me or insult my "ignorance" enough for me to support Obama. Donna Brazile said they don't need my vote and Obama isn't going to get it. McCain wasn't my first choice but he's the best choice I've got.
- kard32, on 06/11/2008, -0/+5He didn't convince you, he's pointing out facts. Those are what McCain stands for. Can you dispute any of them?
How can you really be a Clinton supporter if you'd vote for the guy who would overturn all pro-choice legislation? Who would overturn everything Clinton stood for?
I favored Clinton and your line of logic makes no sense to me.- locamama, on 06/11/2008, -4/+1McCain is not going to overturn Roe. The President doesn't have that power. He said he would not seek an abortion ban amendment. What is he going to do? nominate another conservative judge to the Supreme Court? The nominee has to get past congress which at this time is majority Democrat. That wonderful checks and balances part of our government. That's just a scare tactic that the Obama camp is trying to use to get women's votes. Obama is hardly a defender of women's rights. He doesn't even have women's issues as a topic on his website.
Also I am not a one issue voter. I think Obama's foreign policy would be a disaster. I am a social liberal but a fiscal conservative and I think Obama's economic policies will not work. Not to mention the fact that Obama just does not have enough experience to hold the office of President.- AlexMarieLeo, on 06/11/2008, -0/+4McCain might not overturn Roe, but whomever he appoints to the Supreme Court certainly can. That's what this election is really about: The next 30 years of SCOTUS.
- LeeinJax, on 06/11/2008, -0/+3You say you are a fiscal conservative; you don't know what you are talking about. Your buddies are dumping money into their key constituencies - big oil and the military industrial complex while they rape the social programs that keeps America strong and competitive. At least your name is well chosen-- you are loca.
- locamama, on 06/11/2008, -1/+1So Leeinjax, what social programs do you think are keeping American strong and competitive?
I am a crazy mom with three boys, home daycare, a face painting business, friends and neighbors, many days I don't know if I'm coming or going. Calling me loca doesn't insult me - I picked the name. - alapoet, on 06/15/2008, -0/+1locamama, good on ya for all the work you do for your family.
But you really should get a clue about politics before you comment on it in a public forum.
Sure, if you want to "get back" at Obama for winning fair and square against Hillary, you can vote for McCain.
But you'll be cutting your nose off to spite your face. And you'll be cheating not just yourself, but an entire country -- lots of mothers and children and their fathers and husbands -- out of the true leadership that we so desperately need in this time of crisis on so many fronts.
Do you really want to do that?
We are looking at a disastrous economic crisis, a senseless war, the squeezing of the middle class practically out of existence, tax breaks for the rich, quality healthcare unaffordable to everyone but the wealthy, intolerance of diversity, despoilation of the environment, disrespect of women's right to make their own choices, and countless other challenges.
Does throwing your hands up and voting for a man who stands on the OPPOSITE side than Hillary of all these issues really do any service to Hillary? To yourself? To your family? To America?

- sneakeykop, on 06/11/2008, -0/+4I agree if you stupid enough to vote McCain...go right ahead..defintly not gonna waste typing skills on why you shouldnt vote McCain, at this point it should be very very obvious!!!!
- LeeinJax, on 06/11/2008, -0/+4Sure. We need another old, white, bottom of his class, born into privilege, warmongering, woman-bashing man. Perfect. This is the "thinking" that has brought our country to the brink of genuine disaster, has kept hundreds of thousands of people from getting the healthcare they need, and engaged us in a war that killed my beautiful, honorable nephew.
I hope you get the life you deserve for your selfishness.- locamama, on 06/11/2008, -4/+1Leeinjax, I'm sorry about your nephew but you really don't need to stoop to personal attacks. I am selfish because I don't want to vote for the underqualified Obama? I have a fabulous life, thank you.
Only kind, giving people vote for Obama? Only evil, vile, selfish people vote for McCain?- alk509, on 06/11/2008, -0/+4No, you're selfish because when your candidate lost, you decided to vote against the only other candidate with similar goals and policies, and for the one who has the exact opposite agenda. You're selfish because you rationalize your ignorant, childish decision by claiming that a Harvard Law School graduate with 11-years experience as an elected government official is somehow less qualified than your 7-years-in-elected-office candidate. And you're selfish because you're basing your support of McCain on histrionics or bias or some other *****, instead of on rational thought about the kind of country you want your three boys to grow up in.
- LeeinJax, on 06/12/2008, -0/+4I said selfish, because you portray yourself as someone who lets a feeling of insult make a choice that WILL hurt people who need help. McCain wants to help the corporations and cronies that love sucking up the gravy, but are bloated and disgusting with their excess.
YOU added the evil and vile, not me. I guess this explains the feeling of insult when you put words in people's mouth. But my guess is you are a McCainite from the beginning, posing for your marshmellow hero.

- zombies187, on 06/15/2008, -0/+2I don't believe you really support Clinton. He just doesn't lack experience to the point where a Clinton Democrat would vote for McCain. Where did you get the 'ignorance' thing? Because they said you were ignoring her call to support Obama? Those two things don't equate. Is it because you didn't know McCain holds such drastic views? Do you feel called out for your ignorance?
- kard32, on 06/11/2008, -0/+5He didn't convince you, he's pointing out facts. Those are what McCain stands for. Can you dispute any of them?
- fiveness, on 06/11/2008, -1/+6If you forget which party offered you a Woman and an African-American you do yourself a great disservice. A McCain win would only strengthen the arguments of those who say that neither are up to the job. You risk teaching your children that if you don't get what you want, it is because others stole it from you. If you vote for McCain because you wanted Hillary, you teach them that bitterness and spite is the most appropriate psychological response. Please don't do that.
