I agree. These are historical facts.
- THX1212, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Stalin: the man who used atheists to massacre Christians.
- dreamflows, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3I was wondering when would someone mention Stalin.
Here's the answer:
1. Stalin received his education at a seminary, and his mother never lost her disappointment that he had not entered the priesthood as she intended.
2. Because of his training for the priesthood, the mature Stalin was scathing about the Russian Orthodox Church, and about Christianity and religion in general.
3. After rejecting Christianity he became an atheist.
4. There is no shred of an evidence anywhere to prove that his atheism motivated his brutality.
5. We would never know if his earlier religious training has any influence on his absolutist faith, strong authority and a belief that ends justify means.
So Stalin was bad, because he was just plainly bad, not because atheism or Christianity(probably) influenced him. - dreamflows, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Hitler was like Stalin, that's why they are allied at first.
1. Communism was established before him by Lenin.
2. Lenin distrust Stalin, and wanted Trotsky to take over the Soviet.
3. Stalin massacred members of his own Communist party, including assassination of Trotsky.
4. Like Hitler, he was an absolute dictator.
5. Like Hitler, he came from the rougher south.
6. Like Hitler, he was raised in a Christian mold.

- Ninja337, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2This is historical revision for some ***** political statement. Hitler was a Protestant, of no visible denomination except Lutheranism, and raised by Catholic parents. Evangelical Christianity sprung out of the late 20th century.
During the Holocaust, the Nazis targetted Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals, clergy, dissenters, the disabled, Soviet prisoners of war, and the Polish. He didn't target atheists. He may have killed some, but there was no genocidal tendency against them. Finally, Jews were not "citizens of the middle east" at any rate. The Jews fled from Jerusalem after the Diaspora in 136 AD.
This submission is propaganda in it's purest form, and let it be know that propaganda, mass misinformation to the masses, is what led to Hitler's ascension. It is material like this that led to the death of 55 million people by the hands of Adolf Hitler. I suggest you get yourself an education past 7th grade, and use more than Wikipedia as your main reference.- dreamflows, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Ninja337,
Let Hitler speak for himself:
"So far as the Evangelical Confessions are concerned we are determined to put an end to existing divisions, which are concerned only with the forms of organization, and to create a single Evangelical Church for the whole Reich."
- Adolf Hitler, in his Proclamation at the Parteitag at Nuremberg on 5 Sept. 1934.
“While we destroyed the Centre Party, we have not only brought thousands of priests back into the Church, but to millions of respectable people we have restored their faith in their religion and in their priests. The union of the Evangelical Church in a single Church for the whole Reich, the Concordat with the Catholic Church, these are but milestones on the road which leads to the establishment of a useful relation and a useful co operation between the Reich and the two Confessions.”
- Adolf Hitler, in his New Year Message, January 1, 1934.
Clearly he was creating a new Christian denomination. He calls this "Evangelical Church in a single Church for the whole Reich." - dreamflows, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Ninja337,
About targeting atheist, let Hitler speak for himself:
“The advantages of a personal and political nature that might arise from compromising with atheistic organizations would not outweigh the consequences which would become apparent in the destruction of general moral basic values. The national government regards the two Christian confessions as the weightiest factors for the maintenance of our nationality: their rights are not to be infringed.”
- Adolf Hitler, in a speech at Reichstag, Berlin, March 23, 1933; published in his My New Order
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0374939187/
“The Church's interests cannot fail to coincide with ours alike in our fight against the symptoms of degeneracy in the world of to-day, in our fight against the Bolshevist culture, against an atheistic movement, against criminality, and in our struggle for the consciousness of a community in our national life, for the conquest of hatred and disunion between the classes, for the conquest of civil war and unrest, of strife and discord. These are not anti-Christian, these are Christian principles.”
- Adolf Hitler, in a speech delivered at Koblenz, August 26, 1934.
“And now Staatspräsident Bolz says that Christianity and the Catholic faith are threatened by us. And to that charge I can answer: In the first place it is Christians and not international atheists who now stand at the head of Germany. I do not merely talk of Christianity, no, I also profess that I will never ally myself with the parties which destroy Christianity. If many wish today to take threatened Christianity under their protection, where, I would ask, was Christianity for them in these fourteen years when they went arm in arm with atheism? No, never and at no time was greater internal damage done to Christianity than in these fourteen years when a party, theoretically Christian, sat with those who denied God in one and the same Government.”
- Adolf Hitler, in a speech delivered at Stuttgart, February 15, 1933.
“We were convinced that the people needs and requires this faith. We have therefore undertaken the fight against the atheistic movement, and that not merely with a few theoretical declarations: we have stamped it out.”
- Adolf Hitler, in a speech delivered in Berlin, October 24, 1933. The Speeches of Adolf Hitler, April 1922-August 1939, Vol. 1 of 2, Oxford University Press, 1942
So clearly Hitler targeted atheist.

From the Lansing State Journal newspaper (Lansing, Michigan) of February 23, 1933.
HITLER AIMS BLOW AT 'GODLESS' MOVE
"Chancellor's Forces Seek the Catholic Support for Latest Campaign
BERLIN, Feb. 23 (AP)--A campaign against the "godless movement" and an appeal for Catholic support were launched Wednesday by Chancellor Adolf Hitler's forces. They struck at two of his formidable opponents in the March 5 elections, the first at communists and the latter at the allied Catholic parties.
Meanwhile five more persons were killed and scores were injured Tuesday night in the incipient civil war which has been waging since Hitler's rise to power. This brought the number of deaths in political clashes since the first of the year, when Hitler began negotiations for the chancellorship, to about 70.
A campaign against the "godless movement" was announced by Bernard Rust, nazi commissioner for education and culture in Prussia, in an address Tuesday night before students at the technical university here. He said the details would be revealed in the next few days. In his speech opening the campaign for the reichstag and Prussian diet elections, Hitler attacked communists for the spread of atheism.
An appeal to Catholic nazis was printed Wednesday in Hitler's Voelkischer Beobachter, assailing the Catholic centrist and populist parties. It recalled the papal encyclical of January 9, 1928, which admonished priests to serve the religious interests of the nation and not to affiliate with political parties. Hitler, himself, is a Catholic.
Nazis invaded a centrist campaign meeting at Trier but were repulsed after a stiff fight. Several persons were injured at Kiel and Opladen in nazi-reichsbanner clashes."
