Honestly, Abe!
chroniclesmagazine.org — The French have looked again at their history and have lowered their once high opinion of Robespierre and their other brutal revolutionaries. - alapoet, on 07/09/2008, -3/+2"Free Americans"? You must be kidding. They weren't "free Americans" until ALL of them were free -- black included. They weren't "free Americans" until none of them were slaves.
- CoolHandLuke70, on 07/09/2008, -0/+4Lincoln only freed the slaves in the south because it was a war of economics and control. He NEVER even freed the slaves in the north. He is even quoted saying that he did not want to free the slaves except that it would destroy the southern economy. He also often used the N word. Interesting how history can be twisted! I wonder what will be said about the ***** Bush after many years!
- MarkEarhart, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Lincoln is by no means the hero standard history books make him out to be. I have heard for years now that he suffered from Tourette's Syndrome, now they say he was Bipolar, neither of which he could have helped, but obviously made him unable to be a level headed President.
