"Terrorist" Watch List Hits One Million Names
huffingtonpost.com — The "terrorist" watch list now has more than one million names. Do you feel safer now? Since February we've been tracking the size of our government's list of ostensible terrorist suspects, which according to the government's own report has been rising at a rate of 20,000 per month.

- alapoet, on 07/14/2008, -9/+245The government is working steadily towards their eventual, and inevitable, goal of having everyone in the United States on their terrorist list.
Then, the rest of the world!- JJ2K1, on 07/15/2008, -22/+48No, just the critical thinkers and uncompliant citizens who refuse to give in to *****. Majority of Obama/McCain supporters are not going to be on this list, those people are your perfect sheep that have bought into the system that has been bestowed upon them.
- twiztidsinz, on 07/15/2008, -22/+32im so sick of you ***** sheep who go around calling everyone sheep. Go be nonconformist with the other anti-sheep sheep.
- phybere, on 07/15/2008, -18/+11Yes, certainly Obama/McCain supporters aren't critical thinking. A critical thinker would NEVER set aside his ideals and make a vote count by voting for someone who will actually be elected. Critical thinkers typically can't see the larger picture...
- smacksaw, on 07/15/2008, -0/+21Did you ever see that old Arnold Schwarzenegger movie "The Running Man"?
The premise is that you're a convict. But if you can win this live game show where hunters try to kill you, your conviction is overturned and you're free. As you find out in the movie, it's simply an entertaining way to kill convicts. There are no winners. They just lie and say the winners are living in a tropical paradise.
The movie would have been terribly uninteresting (as well as 10 minutes in length) if he had your philosophy and just said "screw it, I won't give in and play" and stood there. A hunter would have shown up about 1 minute later, and while he flopped on the ground like Ghandi, they would have decapitated him.
Yet even though he played a game he knew to be corrupt, a game he could not win, he manages to not only win, but to expose the whole thing as a giant fraud.
Now tell, me - who are the sheep here? The person who takes a chance, or the people who believe they have no chance and don't bother doing anything? I don't know if you've ever seen sheep on a farm, but throngs of people talking about how the system is corrupt and how they refuse to participate in it - that's pretty much sheep-like behaviour.
You see, I agree with you about the state of affairs. But your method/philosophy is a copout and a disservice. The very system you rail against counts on apathy such as yours. It's like starting a boycott on Wal-Mart, except you've never shopped there in your life. You can't boycott a political process when you have no connection to it. Change begins from within. You're segregated and ostracised from the group. Therefore you are a buzzing fly. No one involved the very process you hate cares what you have to say.
Get off your ass. It's time to start running. - scstraus, on 07/15/2008, -1/+7Wow one of the best digg posts ever and it only has 2 upvotes. Digg, gotta love you.
- ufee, on 07/15/2008, -4/+3"No, just the critical thinkers and uncompliant citizens who refuse to give in to *****."
Buried. There's nowhere near a million critical thinkers in the US. - UnstableMind, on 07/15/2008, -0/+4I think what smacksaw is basically saying is, you have to beat them at their own game.
- OwdenBowden, on 07/15/2008, -0/+3I will be on this list because I am an American who actually believes that our current form of government is failing "The People" and not living up to the Constitution and Bill of Rights as out lines by my forefathers.
I am going to wear it as a badge of honor, Honoring the Men and Women of the American Revolution, WW I, WW II, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf I, Gulf II, Afghanistan and all Who would Not back down; Never Give up; Never Surrender!
- rpgmaker, on 07/15/2008, -1/+4We see all those bills passed and our civil liberties shrinking and most people don't see how threatening this is now because "they won't watch on each and everyone of us" but if their dream of putting RFID chips on us came true all this bills will apply. I know it sounds too Sci-Fi but that's how it looks from where we are now.
- floatingorb, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2http://www.wethepeoplewillnotbechipped.com/phpfusi ...
- ufee, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1This copy of crysis has TWO rfid chips stuck in its case. Just saying.
- floatingorb, on 07/15/2008, -2/+19Well, it makes sense because the best way to find a needle in a haystack is to build a really big one. Then just set it on fire; Your terrorist is the shiny thing that still remains in the little patch of ashes.
- SomaAddict, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Nice.
- toetagger, on 07/15/2008, -6/+3Sure, but we become the burning hay.
- jimmycurN, on 07/15/2008, -0/+3The needle would be blackened, but otherwise, that's a great analogy.
- floatingorb, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2toetagger: You recognize what governments have planned for us with this terror war load of crap. Good job!; I didn't think that anyone else got my somewhat cryptic analogy.
- jandor, on 07/15/2008, -0/+45My husband is on the *do not fly list* because his name is confused with a suspected terrorist that has the same name, but ten years his senior. Doesn't make any difference how many times we attempt to explain, how much i.d. we have, it's almost not worth flying anymore. No curbside check in, no ticket print out beforehand, no easy anything. You think after a thorough check point or two they would remove his name and figure out it's the wrong guy...but they just insist on continuing to chase their tails in an endless infringement upon every ones personal rights and civil liberties. Unfortunately the more we complain about these insults, the more they evolve better detection techniques, i.e. chip implants, xray machines, surveillance, etc. Remember, it's all for our safety...Pffttt!!!
- arjie, on 07/15/2008, -0/+5Reminds me of the movie 'Rendition'. In your case, surely you have recourse to the courts? There is no way they can be doing something like that regularly in a developed country. False positives like that make the system less secure.
- DestroyFascism, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2Sue the Government for defamation. Wake the idiots up from their bureaucratic wet dream.
- FelixDeluxe, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2In a developed country, sure. Not in a civilized one though...
- NoStoppingUs, on 07/15/2008, -13/+2I realize 'fact' has no place on Digg, but the reality is that there are over one million entries, not names. If someone is known to use a different name, and entry is made for that new name, as well as onto the other names. In reality, there are a few hundred thousand actual people on that list.
But quick! Bury me! Facts must not be told on digg!- greenfyre, on 07/15/2008, -1/+10So the actual number of individuals would be?
987,483? - xEn1gma, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1I'm not going to bury you but like greenfyre was implying, what is the actual/factual number of people on that list Mr. Smartypants?
- morphkons, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Maybe you should stop and think a little before posting. OK, there are a million "entries" on the list.
And what are these "entries"? Uh,, names? Yeah!!! And how many actual people have one of these names?
Oh, I dunno,, four, five million? At least!!
So, they will quickly realize you are not the John J. Jones on the list because you are a different age,
race, weight, height, etc., etc. and will soon have you on board with out a worry that it will ever happen
again. Right? LOL. - Origin415, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Citation needed.
- greenfyre, on 07/15/2008, -1/+10So the actual number of individuals would be?
- greenfyre, on 07/15/2008, -0/+7How else can they be sure they have all the guilty ones? eh? Didn't think of that, did you?
- mllawso, on 07/15/2008, -0/+12Clearly the government needs to make terrorists, one way or the other. You can't fight without an enemy.
- csw1342, on 07/15/2008, -0/+6You mean like bombing wedding parties?
- megamod, on 07/15/2008, -0/+4Kinda relates to when everyone else is wrong but you, are you the one that's wrong?...when everyone else is the terrorist but you, are you the terrorist?
- wacki, on 07/15/2008, -0/+4Can I see if I'm on it? Can I? Can I? At this point I'm kinda hoping I've made the list.
- letherial, on 07/15/2008, -0/+0your put on the list for wanting to be on the list, and only terriorst would want to be on the terror list.
damn terrorist
- letherial, on 07/15/2008, -0/+0your put on the list for wanting to be on the list, and only terriorst would want to be on the terror list.

- ALink2ThePast, on 07/15/2008, -0/+3Think about it, considering the US population is about 300mil, that means 1/300 people in the US are suspected terrorists. So if you go to a school with 5000 people, you're probably in school with 16-17 "suspected terrorists"
- pe5t1lence, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1The list is not limited to the American population.
- richmomz, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Isn't this how things started in Soviet Russia in the 1920s-30s? That didn't end well...
- jaymzdean, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2What do they intend to do with the people on this list?
Google "Bill Cooper's Death" and you'll find out. - CrazedLeper, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1Why does this comment have 230+ diggs and when I say essentially THE SAME THING I get dugg down every time? Could it be that people are waking up? Nah. Not likely.
- JJ2K1, on 07/15/2008, -22/+48No, just the critical thinkers and uncompliant citizens who refuse to give in to *****. Majority of Obama/McCain supporters are not going to be on this list, those people are your perfect sheep that have bought into the system that has been bestowed upon them.
- angeladtao, on 07/14/2008, -7/+89Couldn't agree more. I haven't flown lately, but I wouldn't be surprised to find my name on the list because of some of my activities, and one particular website I visit. It is meant to help people, but that doesn't keep the government from watching it like a hawk. How did it come to this that I am paranoid about my own government? Am I living some kind of nightmare?
- Frejesal, on 07/15/2008, -17/+3You are so enigmatic, and at the same time it is clear that you are tortured by this cruel world.

- sporg, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1This list is one of the most ridiculous bureaucratic stupidities ever thought up.
- smacksaw, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Ah, /cgl/ claims yet another person's liberties.
- wufoo, on 07/15/2008, -0/+3It's 1984, nothing to worry about... unless you are a thought criminal. People scoff (not here) about the government spying on people and what they do and where they visit online- if you don't do anything wrong you have nothing to worry about. In reality it is about as close as we can get to having thought police.
- Frejesal, on 07/15/2008, -17/+3You are so enigmatic, and at the same time it is clear that you are tortured by this cruel world.
- yourmartdotnet, on 07/14/2008, -3/+99Soon they'll jailing us for sedition, and taking our homes for minor infractions of the law.
- dagnome1984, on 07/15/2008, -1/+20They can already take your home over drugs. Given that it's not much of a stretch.
- joegibes, on 07/15/2008, -3/+1...don't do drugs?
- wtfpwned98, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1joegibes, you earn a gold star for your malleability. *pats head*

- captZEEbo, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3"...don't do drugs?"
Or how about, do drugs if you want to. Don't let the government punish you for how you treat your own body.
- BowieX, on 07/15/2008, -0/+5LOL This reminds me of that Simpsons episode when every child ended up in detention for offences as minor as dropping a pencil... so that the teachers could eat them.
And by "LOL" I mean.. *sigh* what the blimmin' hell is this world coming to?

- Tenlow, on 07/15/2008, -0/+6Barbara Bush wasn't a bitch!
- GhostPanther, on 07/14/2008, -6/+164There's only two names that should be on that list other than Osama and co.: Cheney and Bush. They've killed a quarter of a million people.
- BigBenKlingon, on 07/15/2008, -1/+47That's a low estimate, if not downright wishful.
- mieprowan, on 07/15/2008, -0/+31If they're going to have a terrorist list, can we have a war criminal list?
- denizen42, on 07/15/2008, -0/+11Wow... a good idea
- AbdullahAbuDawu, on 09/12/2008, -0/+4The problem is, they say those 1,000,000 people make up the 'co' in Osama and co.
- Snowboarder79, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Not only that, they have given billions of dollars to Pakistan to fight terrorism and some of that money has gone to the ISI (Pakistan's Intelligence) which funds the Taleban. This makes Bush and Co responsible for funding terrorists, another reason why they should be on the list.
- CrazedLeper, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1You people still believe the Bin Laden story? Keep digging; you're not informed yet.
- greenfyre, on 07/14/2008, -6/+29Now now ... they are just pursuing the democratic ideal of getting absolutely everyone on the list without bias of suspicion, guilt or innocence.
- MacBookForMe, on 07/14/2008, -5/+43Is That lousy Government so very afraid of its TAXPAYERS???

http://www.aclu.org/privacy/spying/watchlistcounte ... - Hangly, on 07/15/2008, -4/+2That one actually makes the tiniest bit of sense. The ANC did resort to terrorist tactics from time to time...
Mandela is awesome, but just sayin'. - djHBRD, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1They clearly don't revise the list well. Mandela was on the list from decades ago during the Apartheid resistance, not the Iraq War.
- Rotzooi, on 07/14/2008, -5/+102But..but... the Republicans are the Party Of Small Government...
- greenfyre, on 07/14/2008, -1/+59And balanced budget, and accountability, don't forget those.

- richmomz, on 07/15/2008, -0/+4Ooh, and non-interventionism! Oh wait...
- pe5t1lence, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2I say this a lot on here, Republican no longer means Conservative :(
- mentallyinhell, on 07/14/2008, -2/+37Sure people will feel safe, until their name is on the list.
- rentmitchum, on 07/15/2008, -1/+23I bet I'm on there, for I got caught with a pipe. Obviously I'm funding terrorism.

You should be proud to be on the list. - teethandeyes, on 07/15/2008, -0/+0The real question is, how many Diggers are terrorists.
My guess is 'most of them'
- antiorblkflag9, on 07/15/2008, -0/+5How many diggers are terrorists?
- netneutrality, on 07/15/2008, -1/+57A million names? So it's like a phonebook for terrorists to find other terrorists?

How many people in their employ world wide?
I'm think about a million. - DarkReign16, on 07/15/2008, -1/+41My Grandpa was on that list a few years ago, and they wouldn't let them fly until many phone calls later. And he's a freaking semi-neocon Bush supporter! (I know...I know...). AND he used to have a security clearance in the freaking F.B.I. like 30-40 years ago.
- Kanele, on 07/15/2008, -4/+3But does your grandpa has an arab sounding name?
- DarkReign16, on 07/15/2008, -0/+7No.
- Morchades, on 07/15/2008, -0/+6Does he have a really common sounding name? Because any aliases are also on the list. So if you are a Dave Nelson or a Jim Robinson, you're ***** outta luck.

- cdigioia, on 07/15/2008, -0/+4Any idea what got him on the list?

- GassyTurd, on 07/15/2008, -0/+8They don't care. They just want to keep you scared.
- Navicerts, on 07/15/2008, -0/+5That may be true in one sense but i suspect even when the list was small is was garbage. I work with databases for a living, I have seen the way managers "work" with data.
- Urbalist, on 07/15/2008, -2/+22LOL, I wouldn't be surprised if my children get on this list the second their born just so the government could use their names to scare the public into giving more tax dollars to a useless war.
What defines a terrorist anyways? Hmmm :
1. a person, usually a member of a group, who uses or advocates terrorism.
2. a person who terrorizes or frightens others.
Perhaps bush or cheney fit the definition...- dagnome1984, on 07/15/2008, -0/+14The tax dollars don't pay for the war. They pay for the interest on the debt that payed for the war.
- poiuytrewq44, on 07/15/2008, -1/+1Terrorism is violence towards people and/or property for political reasons. Hurrrrrrrrr...
- isparadiselost, on 07/15/2008, -3/+18What would one expect in a Police State? Don't know if I'm on it but am sure I will be eventually. Someone with the means to defend themselves and make quite a dent in their stable of pawns must scare them quite a bit.
It's amazing how we have completely discarded the Republic given to us. It's even more amazing how many have died to supposedly protect this Republic and yet it continues moving down the path of ancient Rome. May the US rest in pieces. We the People will rebuild and will restore it. Choose your side 'cause it's gonna be a damn bumpy ride in the next year or so.- onetimer, on 07/15/2008, -10/+4Like the government gives a ***** about some whiny teenager on digg.
Seriously, you people have a vastly overinflated ego.
By the way, you guys have been peddling this Alex-Jones inspired "it's about to get bumpy" crap for years now. It keeps not happening, and despite that you morons keep buying into the next conspiracy that comes along, like sheep.- clayasaurus, on 07/15/2008, -2/+4Looks like you choose your side.
- onetimer, on 07/15/2008, -6/+5Yeah, the side of rationality that is always correct when predicting that yet another "omg there gonnna come after us" is just more bogus fear-mongering *****.
- dagnome1984, on 07/15/2008, -4/+3I guess in state check points where you have to show your papers is a shinning symbol of liberty.
"Yeah, the side of rationality that is always correct when predicting that yet another "omg there gonnna come after us" is just more bogus fear-mongering *****."
Tell that to the idiots in D.C who constantly prop up fears of the next terrorist boggy man in order to get their legislation rammed through congress. - HumanCattle, on 07/15/2008, -2/+1i think onetimer is a pretty cool guy
eh likes basketball and he doesnt afraid of anything - Anonchrist, on 07/15/2008, -1/+1Read a couple of posts. Some of your fellow diggers are on government lists designed to combat terrorist. Maybe they have the right to complain a little bit.
- Navicerts, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Well, assuming that what you say is correct a list with a million names on it is still totally ineffective.
- orangefly, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1"They took a lot of people away," a scared American store clerk tells Swayze, after several of the "Red Dawn" rebels return to town after a long stay in the mountains. "People who they thought were going to make trouble for them. ... Re-education camps. That's what they call them."
- letherial, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1not a police state untill they take away the guns. untill then, we the people are allowing this to happen.
- onetimer, on 07/15/2008, -10/+4Like the government gives a ***** about some whiny teenager on digg.
- macinit1138, on 07/15/2008, -2/+920% approval rating for both Congress and the President. In a Bushism: "If them folks are not with us, it follers that they're against us maybe lots." It's suppose to be representation of the people, not the oppression of the people.
- atact88, on 07/15/2008, -1/+24So I have a 1 in 300 chance of being on this list?
- captZEEbo, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1probably even higher if you use internet banking! After all, 6 or more transfers from your savings account in one month and you are likely aiding terrorists.
- gravis86, on 07/15/2008, -1/+47I'm on the list. I'm a natural-born citizen; half Mexican half American. Third Generation in the US. None of my immediate family members are on it, just me. And it's a pain in the ass.
I flew from Seattle to Phoenix 2 summers ago and bought my ticket online. I then tried to print it out before I left for the airport, just like you are supposed to do. It wouldn't print. I thought it was my computer (a Mac) so I tried my friend's. Same thing. I thought "Oh well, I'll just get it from the e-ticket machine in the airport." Not so easy. The machine would not give it to me but wouldn't say why.
I then went to the counter to ask why I couldn't get my ticket. The lady looked it up for and that's when I found out that I was on the list.
So now that I have my ticket in hand, (and 30 minutes behind where I wanted to be) I continued to the gate. Once I got there, I "got" to go through extra screening and searches.
All I can say is it's a good thing I arrived 5 hours before my flight was scheduled to leave, or I might have missed my plane.
And that's part of the problem with the list. You don't know you're on it until something like that happens. It's a major pain in the ass.- rda1441, on 07/15/2008, -42/+3I'd gladly have you go through that to make sure I'm safe.
- dagnome1984, on 07/15/2008, -0/+24Wow a Mike Huckabee supporter who is an authoritarian. I am shocked! Shocked, I tells ya!
- FrenchAnarchy, on 07/15/2008, -0/+30Anyone who trades essential liberty for security deserves neither liberty nor security. -Benjamin Franklin
- mrsammercer, on 07/15/2008, -0/+25As long as it's someone else getting jerked around, it's none of your concern, right, *****? Same way you want us in Iraq, Iran and wherever the hell else "they" want to attack to make you feel safer. Just as long as quivering, scared ass isn't on the line. Pathetic coward.
- regression, on 07/15/2008, -0/+22What's sad is that you don't realize that you aren't any safer.
- rda1441, on 07/16/2008, -4/+1Wow......4 bleeding heart idiots. Bet you're all on the watch list.
- captZEEbo, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2Yeah, b/c terrorists only use planes to attack people. What kind of security do trains have? Zero. Maybe if we use too much security on planes, terrorists will just target trains (or anything else)....ever think of that?
- dagnome1984, on 07/15/2008, -0/+24Wow a Mike Huckabee supporter who is an authoritarian. I am shocked! Shocked, I tells ya!
- Olfster, on 07/15/2008, -17/+5Sorry you have to go through this but at least I know Osama would not be allowed on the plane, even if he does make it over the Mexican/US Border. At least I think he wouldn't be allowed on. Oh crap what if he doesn't use his real name?! What if he gets a fake ID from a relative of a Chicago alderman? Just kidding. I know Mr. Bush is protecting us. Isn't he?
- GassyTurd, on 07/15/2008, -1/+2Yeah, Osama would board the plane and carry out an attack himself.
*facepalm* - UltraDavid, on 07/15/2008, -0/+4Uhh this guy was clearly kidding, people.
- fohktor, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1A good demonstration on the usefulness of the /sarcasm tag.

- Kanele, on 07/15/2008, -6/+1Probably the list contains counterstrike players
- chsbrgr, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1I'm sure it's a VAC enabled watchlist.
- oldcrows40, on 07/15/2008, -0/+17I read the Al Jeezera New Paper. I wonder if I am on it?
- EntreLangdon, on 07/15/2008, -2/+8hahaha
come on people! there's got to be more than 1 million people out there who are critical of the Bush / Cheney regime willing to vocalize it on the internet.
Man if they had a web crawler like google, that list would be up to 20 million at least!- Olfster, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Don't give them ideas! I have to wait long enough already.
- sapphire9488, on 07/15/2008, -1/+8I just want to know how they determine who to put on the "terrorist" watch list! Do I feel safer now? HELL NO!
- JonForTheWin, on 07/15/2008, -1/+42Here let me make sure I'm on the list if I'm not already:
CONSTITUTION, BILL OF RIGHTS, FIRST AMENDMENT, FOURTH AMENDMENT, THOMAS JEFFERSON IS AWESOME
Now you're on it too for reading this.- mieprowan, on 07/15/2008, -0/+17That's rather what I was thinking; that we should volunteer to be on the list. Kind of like Emerson in jail. But why can't we see the list? Where is the Freedom of Information Act when you need it? They probably put that on the list, too.
- Lydia1948, on 07/16/2008, -0/+0I think we should make our own "list". Lets see, we can start with the FBI and the CIA for terrorizing John Lennon and John Trudell and Peltier and Mumia. And anyone who ever reported a UFO siting. Oh, and the LSD experiments that caused an overdosed scientist to plunge to his death in a supposed suicide. And for subjecting soldiers to radio active fallout during H-bomb testing! And for God sake don't express any alternative religious views or hoard any guns 'cause those are the property of the "State"! And for creating an atmosphere of sheer terror after 9/11 soes they could pull off their bloody oil war! There, now I am proudly on their stinking list!
- AbdullahAbuDawu, on 09/12/2008, -0/+1Crap! I was already on it twice!
- greenfyre, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1OMG! I just realized ... what if a Democrat gets elected and they make the list public ... and you're not on it?
What do you tell your friends? your family? your co-workers? How do you live with the shame?
- mieprowan, on 07/15/2008, -0/+17That's rather what I was thinking; that we should volunteer to be on the list. Kind of like Emerson in jail. But why can't we see the list? Where is the Freedom of Information Act when you need it? They probably put that on the list, too.
- MalenfantReid, on 07/15/2008, -0/+40Orwellian
- ordig, on 07/15/2008, -2/+11So can people on this list like file a class action aginst the government for slander or something?
- dagnome1984, on 07/15/2008, -0/+5Even if you had grounds to sue you would quickly run out of money because you can't compete with the virtually unlimited funds of the government.
- Morchades, on 07/15/2008, -0/+7Unlimited because they are borrowed.
- dagnome1984, on 07/15/2008, -0/+5Even if you had grounds to sue you would quickly run out of money because you can't compete with the virtually unlimited funds of the government.
- HCviolence, on 07/15/2008, -1/+6At best having this many "terrorists" on the list is only creating a smoke shield for the people who actually wish to do America harm. At worst well...
- rda1441, on 07/15/2008, -20/+2Let's be a little bit honest here, shall we. Most of you are terrorists. Maybe not Islamic extremist terrorist, but terrorist none the less. Environmentalist, vegetarians, vegans, liberals, canadians, people who cut me off in traffic. All of these people SHOULD be questioned....starting with that nutjob huffington.
- AntzNZ, on 07/15/2008, -0/+11I actually think this guy is serious, look at his other comments.
- scarecrow2k6, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1lol dude as I've mentioned b4, kids with phds in politics and foreign policy (they are mostly Halo fans) are flocking to Digg everyday. Get use to it.
- rda1441, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1Lets be even more honest...those are dangerous groups.
- greenfyre, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2Right, seems not a day goes by when you don't hear how another vegan has shot up a bank or school, or a Canadian has blown up another US embassy, or ...
Sorry, that's what not you meant?
Oh, they're dangerous because they encourage thinking? OK, now I understand. - rda1441, on 07/19/2008, -0/+1Vegans, by definition, are the militant wing of the vegetarians. Ever spend enough time with one, you'll realize they can't be reasoned with.
Additionally, Canada's pie in the sky health care fantasy, along with their let anyone into onto the continent attitude is beyond hazardous.
- mieprowan, on 07/15/2008, -0/+8I have a better idea. Let's just put everyone in jail, except for the jailers. Job security for them, and then forced labor for the inmates. And then, we can compete with China!
- dagnome1984, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2Sounds like something rda1441 would approve of.
- khail250, on 07/15/2008, -0/+6Hey I just moved to China (a white, Russian born, naturalized US citizen that served in the operation Iraqi slaughter). you may make jokes about China, but its more free than the US will be in a few years.
The difference: US is taking away freedoms, China is doing the opposite, you should see the commercials here, Help save water, treat your workers equally, all this "mumbo jumbo" oppression? sorry folks US is the old China...
Good luck country I used to defend
- HHP2K, on 07/15/2008, -0/+4Oh, hi Cheney. I thought you weren't allowed on Digg anymore.
- upenox, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1I see that someone forgot to put on their helmet this morning.
- caneshockeybbc, on 07/19/2008, -0/+1hey man... you forgot LIBERTARIANS!! Much different than the folks you mentioned!!
Go Mr. Barr GO!!
- AntzNZ, on 07/15/2008, -0/+11I actually think this guy is serious, look at his other comments.
- monsterette, on 07/15/2008, -1/+4.....c'mon now...1 million on the list!
- BarryObama, on 07/15/2008, -9/+6 -----There cannot possibly be one million terrorists poised to attack us. If there were our cities would be ablaze. The president - if not this president, then the next one -- needs to order the Terrorist Screening Center (the entity that maintains the list) to take everyone off this list except those for whom there is credible evidence of terrorist activities or ties.------
When I am elected President of the United States, I will remove all the names off this list and close the Department of Homeland Security. As our current President has said over and over again; "Islam is a peaceful religion.". I intend to act upon this and to prove to the American people that this is the only truth that George W. Bush has ever uttered.- CrazedLeper, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1Huh?
- ProUSADigger, on 07/15/2008, -10/+2The title is inaccurate. There are not 1 million names on the list. There are about 400,000
individual names on the list. Some are listed more than once. Those are the facts.- crash999, on 07/15/2008, -0/+5Only 400000 names- that's much better
- hobophobe, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1Do you honestly believe that our government can't sort a list of 1,000,000 items and check for duplication?
- greenfyre, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1It would require knowing about Ctl S
- Holosoth, on 07/15/2008, -6/+3This "No Fly List" only contains names, not necessarily of terrorists. If one John Smith was banned from flying, or was charged with a crime involving an airport, airplane, etc., that name would be added to the list. Anyone with that name would register when they try to check in to print boarding passes. If this is the case, your boarding passes need to be printed by an employee rather than a kiosk. Simply making the ticket under a nickname will make the issue not be troublesome. Ex. "Nick" instead of "Nicholas"
- iamtehwinnerz, on 07/15/2008, -1/+13stay classy NSA...
- X9001, on 07/15/2008, -5/+1The list would have been made completely useless if it had half as many names
- atbnet, on 07/15/2008, -0/+35I personally won't feel safe until there are 300 million names on that list.
- vexingmodstwo, on 07/15/2008, -6/+18And you want the government in charge of health care?
- Morchades, on 07/15/2008, -1/+6Depends, are they going to contract the same morons that maintain this idiotic list?
- Ortheos, on 07/15/2008, -1/+4Maybe not your government. It's time for real change. Elect something else besides the two main parties.
- vexingmodstwo, on 07/15/2008, -2/+2That won't change the thousands upon thousands of bureaucrats who make up these agencies.
- CanTheSpam, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2Who legally cannot be fired.
- axisdelasal, on 07/15/2008, -3/+11Can they put me on the list for digging this article?
- Anonchrist, on 07/15/2008, -0/+4Reasons, what sort of a government needs reasons? When we start needing to justify our governments unlimited power, the terrorist win. You don't want the terrorist to win do you? /Sarcasm
- Tyrghast, on 07/15/2008, -4/+11Is Bush on there?
