- bigronpaulfan, on 11/12/2007, -10/+10Dr. Paul's name is mentioned in the comments more than 100 times. His popularity is so much larger than we're being led to believe.
- Hortnon, on 11/10/2007, -4/+8*His internet popularity"
- iericg, on 11/12/2007, -0/+3Right because the internet is filled with a collection of artificial intelligence that doesn't really exist. If internet popularity is not important then why is Obama wasting his campaign money to post ads on Digg? Why does every major candidate even bother to post a personal website? Why is Google the 5th largest corporation in the the world?
Young Jedi do not underestimate the POWER of the Internet....

- satanatnmtedu, on 11/12/2007, -10/+13Man of the Year for being a guy that has not won anything yet? Man of the Year for the people who think he stands for Liberty while ignoring what he says? You must be kidding me!
- KMye, on 11/12/2007, -10/+10bwahahahahaha
Just form your ***** Ron Paul religion officially and be done with it, please.
What would it be named, I wonder...- COINTELPROAgent, on 11/12/2007, -5/+8I think they should skip ahead to the part in their religion where they all go to Guyana for kool-aid.
- KMye, on 11/12/2007, -5/+6I was figuring they'd all move to compound in Waco, er, Freeport...

- COINTELPROAgent, on 11/12/2007, -8/+8Wasn't Adolph Time's man of the year too? It would really be fitting in that case. I say nominate him for a Nobel Prize too. All the biggest douchbags get that one.
- jcm267, on 11/12/2007, -6/+5My first thought is to vote for Sarkozy. What exactly makes you Ronbots think that Ron Paul would be a suitable choice for Man of the Year?
- iericg, on 11/12/2007, -5/+6I submitted his name not only because I support him but because of the huge controversy he's created. Forcing us to question and ponder about the Iraq War, Government Spending, IRS, Value of the Dollar, Civil Liberties, and more importantly the Constitution.
Just the other day I finally learned about how income tax came about in our politics. It never occurred to me that the whole idea could be unconstitutional. Whether you like him or not his views are making people THINK.- ssn697, on 11/12/2007, -4/+6Yeah, cuz no one was questioning those things before RP came along.
It is like the RonBots think politics, and the world in general, began when RP declared his candidacy.- iericg, on 11/12/2007, -4/+3I was just watching CNN and they actually had a conversation about whether we should return to the gold standard. Questioning if Ron Paul idea's seemed practical from an economist point of view. Ron Paul is the only republican candidate stating that the war in Iraq was a mistake. I usually don't like to put people on a pedestal but he is a goose in group of ducks.
FYI -
I've attached multi-dimensional nanobots to this post. After reading this comment you will undoubtedly be infected by them. As they whisper in your ear you won't be able to prevent yourself from thinking.
RON PAUL 2008 - -RON PAUL 2008 -- RON PAUL 2008 --
You will not hear the sound of a mass less army marching through out your neurons. To reply back will only bring evidence to their existence....- ssn697, on 11/12/2007, -3/+4The Gold standard PROLONGED the depression. Why would we want to go back to it? Who sets the price of Gold? A central authority, like before? If you don't trust the fed now, why would you trust the same thing for Gold in the future (or do you not understand how the Gold Standard was controlled by world powers?)? Who sets the price? Who gets to raise it? How do we grow with limited actual gold available? How do we control the Gold Supply (check history, and look what happened when there was a gold boom)
How do we force the countries NOT trillions in debt to switch? Their currency is doing fine, just like ours did for years and years. Now that WE have been stupid with debt, everyone else has to suck up to us?
The Gold Standard return is just the latest BS whimsy. It sucked, HARD for years, causing untold depression in many, many countries, stifling growth. Just because RP has the majority of his money in Gold and Silver is NOT a good reason to switch.
Every time I post this, I get no solid answers. Why? Because the Gold Standard straw man is BS. - iericg, on 11/12/2007, -0/+2There where a lot of factors that caused the depression. Economist today are still arguing on the causes of the depression. I don't by into the fact that the gold standard helped prolonged the depression. Dept was high, there where some major agricultural issues, and people lost confidence in investing. The rise of income tax sure didn't help the issue. Plus I still don't see any constitutional right FDR had in forcing people to turn in all their gold currency. After everyone turned in their gold FDR ended up raising the value of it. Ultimately devaluing the dollar so in the end the common person was ripped off.
Sure FDR had some great "socialistic" ideas however they where only a short term remedy. There is a huge problem printing money out of thin air and devaluing the dollar. The average interest rate in bank today is only 2 to 3% while inflation is at about 3%. The Federal Reserve is a private monopoly that has successfully trapped our Government in dept. I'm still not convinced that the Federal Income tax is constitutional.
Our tax system is a complete mess and the money our Government does collect is so poorly managed that it's not even funny.

- Hortnon, on 11/10/2007, -3/+5Looks like JK Rowling might win it, just based on the comments. Buried as blatant rigging of the Person of the Year vote.
- Parapadrifter, on 11/12/2007, -0/+2The first candidate in history to be totally transparent and real-time in his fundraising. He bravely answers tough questions and doesn't do the Potomic-Twostep. In a time where Washington is soaked with lobbyists and millions of corporate-dollars, Ron Paul refuses to be influenced. You who attempt to label us RONBOTS, cultish, or nuts only highlight where your heart is. The Almighty Dollar. You've lost your reverence to your origins, pursue a false-form Democracy, and in my eyes, are no longer Americans.
- FF9999, on 12/07/2007, -0/+1Check out Ron Paul!
"A vote for just about every major presidential candidate from either party is a vote for more of the same thing. Of the Presidential candidates in serious contention, Ron Paul, and Ron Paul alone, stands for change. Ron Paul, alone, would truly obey his oath to the Constitution and would work to restore freedom and liberty to the American people. Ron Paul, alone, would kick the globalist elite out of power in Washington, D.C., and restore this country to constitutional governance."
