A Letter To Political Blogs: Let's Ramp Up The Intelligence Of Politics
campaigns.wikia.com — "I am launching today a new website aimed at being a central meeting ground for people on all sides of the political spectrum who think that it is time for politics to become more participatory, and more intelligent."

- witte, on 10/12/2007, -17/+19What, "Bush is a terrorist worse than Hitler!!" isn't good enough?
- Ndiggnation, on 10/12/2007, -12/+7I think he mentioned intelligent discussion. Your statement does not signify that.
- dementia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14I think he was being sarcastic. Your statement does not signify that you understand that.
- Cl1mh4224rd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9/me raises a large, neon sign that reads, "Danger! Sarcasm Ahead! (Or Is It?)"
It seems people can't recognize (or don't accept) politcal humor anymore unless it's in two 30-minute segments on Comedy Central... - Ndiggnation, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Sarcasm?? Nahh..it's still a critique of those who do not support our Commander-in-Chief.
- refulgentis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5People in the 'blogopshere' don't realize but, they're mainly spawning interest in their own little universe. According to Alexia, they don't draw new traffic, they're just having the same people visit new blogs.
I try to keep up with them, but there's too much sardonic inside jokes for it to be really interesting to me. Blogs would benefit more from trying to open up their world than further build it up and make it even more initmidating.- BloodJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -10/+7Who is this Alexia? Is she hot?
- hackwrench, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4If the blogs are new, how can the traffic be anything other than new?
- bonchbonchbonch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Dugg. Despite the bad blood between us, BloodJunkie, kudos on this link. I'll definitely check this out if it's able to accomplish its stated goals. It sounds like exactly what is needed (as long as vandalism is kept in check).
- BloodJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Agreed. No bad blood here though.
- ccran, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Awwwww.
No, seriously. It is intriguing.
- zimm, on 10/12/2007, -14/+4blog... politicial intelligence... heh. ha.. rofl..
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!
THANKS! best joke i've heard all day! - ffingers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5And how do they expect to keep the tempers under control and only rational thought. I predict IF it picks up steam, long wiki-arguments and wacky-wiki posts. I am gonna coin those terms, I swear!
- geronimo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3So what he's saying is "YSL,H"(your side lost, hippie) doesn't evoke intelligent discussion?
- automagically, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6The only thing I don't like is when people generalize about labels instead of discussing the issue. "Lib this" .... "Repuke that". Heck, might even be a good idea to filter out those words, and replace them with Pokemon names.
"Damn Pidgeotto-winged Bulbasaurs ruining it for us Pikachus."- Murdats, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I like the sounds of that, it reads just aswell as using the real terms for most of us outside america
- p0s3r, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5The irony of bloodjunkie submitting this. His record proceeds him.
- flag564, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Seriously. He is the biggest Left-wing blog spammer on Digg. All you have to say is Bush is a retard, and he will have your blog on Digg in a heartbeat.
- BloodJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, what's up with that guy? *rabble!...rabble! rabble!*
- byronm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@flag564
Like your one to speak :) - ccran, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you really look at everything the guy posts and digs, (and it is so voluminous I took him off my friends list to slim down my selections) then you will see that he seems to be trying to foster exchange of information and dialog.
He goes through and diggs people up who are getting buried just for have contrary opinions. There is no bias in that but a bias for a free exchange of ideas.
Are his politics "liberal"? I don't care. He is doing a service to everyone here.
- poipoipoi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3intelligence doesnt pull in the viewers; yelling, stupidity, and boobies do. but intelligence operates behind the scenes, mostly (Ted Stevens's internet concepts notwithstanding). have faith. if everything was really as bad as it seemed in the media, we'd all be dead ten different ways.
- NoozeHound, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1All hail Boobies.
- MickGyver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21st step should be building and promoting an alternate media for the masses, a media that is truly unbiased, excepts no advertisements, actually does investigative journalism, and is on a medium that is accessible by the masses. Newsprint is to expensive and has a dwindling audience. Unfortunately television and radio has already been infiltrated by special interest entities, and they are hard at work destroying our last and newest medium, the Internet. They poo pooed the Internet in the mid 90's, but where then surprised by it's exponential growth. So perhaps before they start governing Digg, Skype and or Shoutcast ports, we should start using those, like Skypecast etc...
- rebrad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I think it would be refreshing to see intelligent discussion of politics. You certainly can't do it on Digg. The voting system combined with the default that buries comments with -4 diggs hides good comments even though not popular. The result is full blown censorship and overwhelming stupidity. Digg has become a joke in that area. Good luck BloodJunkie.
- quine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Regarding digg politics - perhaps they should include little elephants and little donkey icons to the left (or right - just to be fair) of the default digg/duggs.. you know - so we can all filter out the opposing views and such. *grin*
- BloodJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3There are a lot more than 2 sides to politics, dude.
- BloodJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hey I'm in favour of evolving the political dialogue as much as the next guy. Hell, I'd even be up for intelligently designing it!
- byronm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you want to make intelligent debate on Politics you would need to hand out dictionaries and remind people what liberal and conservative means, destroy every misnomer about politics created since the Ronald Reagan errra and start fresh. Unfortunately the BS is stacked so high that isn't going to happen.
but.. good luck, have some honest debate and have fun. At least digg is the most fair voting compared to other sites that have obvious heavy handed moderators and our extremely biased admins locking or deleting posts/comments because the ideas differ from there own.
