youtube.com — Chris Matthews shreds right wing radio host Kevin James on Hardball who can't tell him what Neville Chamberlain did wrong even though he's trying to use Chamberlain as a right wing talking point.

I have clicked on so many links that claimed someone "owned" someone else in the past and have been thoroughly disappointed. This, however, was a piece of genius. Matthews smelled BS in the water and had a feeding frenzy with this talking head. I don't always like everything Mr. Matthews does, but this is a 10/10 performance here.- MoofTheStoof, on 05/16/2008, -0/+25I've been happier with Tweety more in the last few weeks than in the last few years. He's definitely stepping up his game.
Also, that wing-nut radio kid was just a TOOL. Not a clue about anything except GOP talking points. Anybody want to count up the number of times he said the word "appease?" - digitalhair, on 05/16/2008, -0/+15you know, when Bush says we're "winning", or when he talks about staying in Iraq until "we" win, I now realize that he's not talking to "us" -- the American People... he's talking to his criminal constituents that seek to undermine America's sovereignty: people like Kevin James, who's passion for Israel would be best served on the front lines in Iraq.
- MoofTheStoof, on 05/16/2008, -0/+25I've been happier with Tweety more in the last few weeks than in the last few years. He's definitely stepping up his game.
- JettaMan, on 05/16/2008, -1/+34This Kevin James is one of those pro-Israel douchebags who treats Israel better than most US states. He certainly isn't representative of Republicans like Ron Paul or Pat Buchanan. He's a neo-Con not a conservative.
- Drahkar, on 05/17/2008, -0/+3I'd have to agree with this. I'm surprised everyone is so content with Israel right now when we are currently in the process of prosecuting people who have been spying on us for Israel, once of which has admitted to giving them classified information on nuclear weapons.
I have nothing against Jewish people, but I'm not going to sit by and say I don't have a problem with a foreign entity stealing from us.

- LukasSmith, on 05/16/2008, -27/+2Yeah we all know the liberal media is alive and well. For instance why is it when I ask Obama supporters if he ever supported going into conflict with Iran they say no? In 2004 Obama and his entire party mostly were bashing Bush for not doing enough about Iran. They did this based on evidence. Evidence that proved false. Remind you of another year? perhaps 2002? The fact is Obama has already has proved his judgement is superior to nobody. The liberal media has just covered it up.http://www.antiwar.com/orig/jfrank.php?articleid=4 ... Now Obama wants to just talk. Sounds like a flip flop to me.
Speaking of cover ups you people aught to know that Obama himself did some fancy cover ups of his own in his book "dreams from my father." Instead of honestly telling the American people that his father was a scumbag he made him out to be a hero. - JettaMan, on 05/16/2008, -3/+50Kevin James is a Zionist hardliner. Israel this and Israel that. He wants to waste American taxpayer money and American lives so that Israel doesn't have to fight their own battles. ***** Israel. It's time to start thinking about America. It's time to stop giving tax payer money to foreign countries.
- Smuikas, on 05/16/2008, -0/+16In the 80's Israel got more of our dollars than any other country. Not only that, but there was no oversight over what was done with that money (what probably ended up happening is Israel using that money to promote anti-Palistinian terrorism among other things).
Egypt got some aid dollars during this time period as well - but an office of approximately 135 americans was instated to oversee what was done with the money. It was used to import grain from the US at double the price it would have cost to harvest it in Egypt. It was used to create a situation of reliance, where Egypt was reliant upon not only our aid dollars (that came right back to us - not a bad thing economically for us, but horrible for Egypt) but also on the American companies they were forced to do business with these aid dollars.
For more than enough insight into Israel and America's special relationship with, read Noam Chomsky's essay, "The Origins of the 'Special Relationship.'" It's very enlightening. (as are his older essays on Vietnam, East Timor, and analysis thereof of the press and international affairs) - diggingaround, on 05/16/2008, -1/+9I think you will have to start with ""Federal" Reserve Bank" first... just check out who is running the show (names, heritage, political connections) ... Americans are working 4 months (in some states 5) out of 12, just to pay taxes - nothing else. Taxes are nothing else but debt paid by our government to private corporation called "Feds".
Thank you "Feds" for raping this great nation... your day of demise will come...

- kablammoxerxis, on 05/16/2008, -0/+9Yes, but he wasn't adamantly saying it was under Bush, and you can hear Matthews clearly say that he's not clear on that.
- Gravey9, on 05/16/2008, -1/+20Good to see these arrogant pricks (James) being called out on their slander, and by the media no less!
- Acxiboy, on 05/16/2008, -8/+4The definition of appeasement has changed over the course of time. It once meant conceding to an enemy's demands to avoid war. However over the past several decades it's changed somewhat to mean "the policy of settling international quarrels by admitting and satisfying grievances through rational negotiation and compromise, thereby avoiding the resort to an armed conflict which would be, expensive, bloody and possibly dangerous."- Paul Kennedy.
But that clip was about the hardest thing I've ever had to watch - no matter who you support... - stump429, on 05/16/2008, -1/+14I wish more interviewers would make them answer questions like this, instead of letting them get away with dodging the question entirely. Dodging questions happens all the time with politicians. This country needs more reporters/interviewers with a spine.

Period.- MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -3/+16I really was on the fence with Matthews before. He gets so douchbaggy sometimes, but this video says a lot about his not taking bs and doublespeak from these neocon fascists. And that in my mind makes him great--he was sort of channeling Olbermann. Maybe he learned a thing or two from him about proper journalism after co-anchoring all those primary nights with him.
- AmaDaden, on 05/16/2008, -2/+19This reminded of the "dicks, assholes, pussies" argument of Team America. It's a good thing we have dicks like Matthews and Olbermann.
- bsmang, on 05/16/2008, -1/+4I used to wonder about him too, but I think it's just his demeanor. When he's right about something, it fits great, but when he's wrong about something, it looks ridiculous and has to make you wonder. Lately though, he's been more right than wrong - at least that I've seen.
- gn0stik, on 05/16/2008, -5/+12I still agree with john stewart that he's pretty much a douchebag, and most of his rants are just good ol fashioned 'douche offs' The guy he was chewing a new one for was a douche too, no doubt, but chris is still a d-bag.
- AwakeningAZ, on 05/16/2008, -1/+10Maybe, but I know who won this particular douche-off.
- gn0stik, on 05/16/2008, -2/+2Awesome so he can stencil a massegil on his desk next to the other ones. He's a regular red barron of d-bags. ....As if that's something to be proud of.
- AwakeningAZ, on 05/16/2008, -1/+10Maybe, but I know who won this particular douche-off.
- oldgal, on 05/16/2008, -1/+3I was pleased to see Chris actually do a good job on this. I generally don't watch him because he tends to shout over people just to hear himself shout. It would be so much more useful if the shouting heads would ask good questions and then hold out for an answer without flooding the airwaves with their own opinions. This was an example of doing it right.
- goomba323, on 05/16/2008, -0/+9It's almost as if Kevin James was excited to be on TV, thinking along the lines of "OH BOY, THIS IS MY BIG BREAK!! ONLY IF I SCREAM AT THE OTHER PUNDITS TO SEEM LIKE MY POINT IS THE STRONGEST LIKE MY IDOL BILL O' DOES, MAYBE I'LL GET MY VERY OWN TV SHOW"...and Chris Matthews was like "No Kevin, it's a lot harder than just screaming, you have to actually know your *****...do you know what...'appeasement' means" and Kevin James was just embarrassed and possibly plotting Chris Matthews death.
- MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -3/+16I really was on the fence with Matthews before. He gets so douchbaggy sometimes, but this video says a lot about his not taking bs and doublespeak from these neocon fascists. - Apokalyps2547, on 05/16/2008, -4/+168Most entertaining quasi-argument I've seen in a long long time. If only more interviewers cut through the rhetoric and got to the facts.
- sleepwalkers, on 05/16/2008, -3/+4Eh, to be fair, Chris Matthews asked someone to correct him not long after the end of the first clip posted and admitted "I don't know what I'm talking about."
At least he admitted it and wasn't confusing two opposite concepts like "talking" and "appeasing." - oldgal, on 05/16/2008, -4/+2And if only the questions had depth.

I picked up my son from school the other week, and he handed me a certificate for physical fitness and excitedly said, "it's from the President!" I said, "Ewww, really? - Mouser58907, on 05/16/2008, -24/+2While it is a small percentage of people who support President Bush, it doesn't seem to be the countries most retarded. In fact, most of the people who support Bush are the more educated people. I myself am in engineering school, and notice most of the computer engineers I am studying with, while we study logic, have the clarity of mind to objectively look at the world and understand what is truly needed. We don't listen to the liberal propaganda that comes from uneducated liberals.

- rz8472, on 05/16/2008, -4/+181So much circular logic. Well Neville Chamberlain was an appeaser. He emboldened Hitler by appeasing him in the ways that he appeased.
- jezsik, on 05/16/2008, -1/+21Former White House correspondent Lynne Olson argued that Bush was an awful lot like Chamberlain. Like Bush, Chamberlain came to office with almost no understanding of foreign affairs or experience in dealing with international leaders. He was convinced that he alone could bring Hitler and Mussolini to heel. He surrounded himself with like-minded advisers, and refused to heed anyone who told him otherwise. In the months leading up to war, Chamberlain and his men saw little need to build a strong coalition of European allies to confront Nazi Germany - ignoring appeals from Churchill and others to fashion a “grand alliance”
- wrongonce, on 05/16/2008, -0/+13Very well said / quoted. Chamberlain's failure wasn't appeasement, it was ignorant hubris and sophomoric pride.

Chris Matthews could have also asked this guy if Ronald Reagon was appeasing the Soviets by talking to Gorbachev. After all, the Soviets armed the North Vietnamese Army with missiles during the Vietnam War, which is the equivalent of Iran arming Hezbollah. I wonder what this idiot Kevin James would have sputtered out then.
But Ronald Reagon didn't APPEASE them, CHRIS!
Why not?
Reagon wasn't an APPEASER, CHRIS!
Why not? He talked to Gorbachev, just like Barack is proposing with Iran.
But Ronald Reagon didn't APPEASE them, CHRIS!
Well, what did he do?
He didn't APPEASE them, CHRIS! He wasn't an APPEASER!
Oh, Jeez.- SacraBos, on 05/16/2008, -24/+3Appeasement is where you continue to "negotiate" and make concessions to your enemy, until your enemy is in a position where they no longer need to bother negotiating with you. The Dem's goal is to negotiate with them to make them like us. The goal of Hamas et. al. is to gain strength, popularity, power, and TIME in the region to the point where they can obliterate Israel. And they will never like us (we are the "Great Satan"), so the Dem's basis of negotiation is pointless. While we will use the time to try to appease them (make them happy), they will use the time to gain strength, arms, money and power.
Reagan did talk to Gorbachev (S.A.L.T. talks), and when the negotiations would result in the U.S. appeasing the U.S.S.R., Reagan WALKED AWAY from the negotiating table. Would Barack or Hillary have the courage to do that?
You can not successfully negotiate from a position of weakness. This is why the Reagan "Peace through Strength" catchphrase is so important. When you are dealing in negotiations with a hostile power (and make no mistake, Hamas is a hostile power), and you are in the weaker position, there is no benefit to them to make concessions or offer favorable terms to you.
Just because Kevin isn't articulate, doesn't mean he's totally wrong.- sublingo, on 05/16/2008, -1/+12Your statements are black and white, running with the Bush-like assumption that such and such are evil for evil's sake and won't listen to reason therefore we shouldn't talk to them.
We know that McCain and Hillary won't talk to anyone they don't like. This is like Bush. We know that Obama is suggesting that you have to talk first to see if talking will work. The act of having a high level chief-to-chief conversation is the starting point of all change in the world. That's what leadership and diplomacy are about.
It's not just talking for talking's sake. It's about having a high-level discussion to grease the gears. To at least TRY to set things in motion, at that top level first. The policy of speaking to other nations through intermediaries or low-level ambassadors is almost useless when dealing with a nation you consider to be hostile.
Also, remember, you're referring to Hamas. Obama's stance on diplomacy has centered around talking to Iran, a country. Not a group. - Ukonu, on 05/16/2008, -1/+5Appeasement is the act of actually granting concessions. It is not simply negotiating. The word for negotiating is NEGOTIATING. It's an important part of diplomacy.
Not saying your underlying point about Reagan is right or wrong but you need to at least get the semantics of the words you use correctly before you inject them into your argument. - anubis2night, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4A few weeks ago Jimmy Carter spoke with Hama's to negotiate a peace with Israel. They then came forward to say that they had no ill will against Israel. When Obama was asked about it he simply said it was a bad move, that in doing so Jimmy Carter had given Hama's what they so desperately need, legitimization. Then later that day Hama's came forward in their country and not only retract their remarks but further claimed that they could see no peace with Israel. Obama called it perfectly. What President Bush and others don't like is the fact that Obama has ties to muslims. While not one himself, he at least understands they're viewpoint. Now call me strange but talking to the enemy seems like the only recourse other than war, and should always be conducted before a strike sometimes during a war and definitely after a war to prevent future wars (see germany) communication is the imperative. It's when we have politcal representation that believes otherwise and lacks the ability to communicate that we end up in the positions that we've found ourselves lately. I for one want a leader who can communicate, who understands the would be enemy and their motivations, and has the ability to make the unpopular choice to speak out about an issue. Obama has shown this time and again. And frankly I have a hard time trusting let alone watching someone who listens to Bush a C+ at best student who has trouble speaking, and doesn't question his thinking nor his comparisons. If I were to take a stand on a position and get on my soapbox in the media I would take the time to make sure that I understood what the position was that I supported and did the research to make sure that the position was logical and supported by facts.
- davidlow, on 05/16/2008, -0/+5No. To appease is to pacify someone by giving into their demands.
You can appease without negotiating and you can negotiate without appeasing. These words are in the dictionary.- StarlessKnight, on 05/16/2008, -1/+4A lot of words are in the dictionary, these last 7 years have been defined by how people (namely the Administration) have gone about redefining words to mean something completely different--if not creating entirely new words in order to dance around the narrowly tailored diction of law.
- davidlow, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1Yeah, and Bill Clinton tried to re-define the word "is". Don't roll over and let Bush tell you that "appease" means something else now. It doesn't. Battles are fought over words and we shouldn't just surrender all the time.
- incredibilistic, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2Fine. So instead of disagreeing with you I should just kill you. Right? I mean what's the point of talking about it here. Let's meet in the street at high noon and see who's got the better trigger finger.
The fact that you're commenting on this site in favor of killing over conversation means that you believe words can be a powerful weapon. So why not use our voices to bring about peace even with our enemies.

- chicofaraby, on 05/16/2008, -2/+7Well, there is this from May 2007 that I found along with hundreds of other examples...
"During a discussion of former CIA director George Tenet's newly released book on the April 30 edition of MSNBC's Hardball, host Chris Matthews stated: "I wish somebody would write a book and tell me when President Bush, who's not an ideologue, why he went along with this war, with the neocons, with Tenet, with all the rest of them. "
http://mediamatters.org/items/200705010007?f=s_sea ...
Matthews was all in favor of George Bush's BS machine then. What happened?
Here is a nice example of Matthews slobbering all over the war and George Bush right after Commander Guy's "Mission Accomplished" speech...
http://mediamatters.org/items/200604270005
"MATTHEWS: Do you think this role, and I want to talk politically [...], the president deserves everything he's doing tonight in terms of his leadership. He won the war. He was an effective commander. Everybody recognizes that, I believe, except a few critics. Do you think he is defining the office of the presidency, at least for this time, as basically that of commander in chief?"- PeteLP, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3Matthews did say these things, but you're missing the much bigger picture.
I watched hardball every single day in the year before the iraq war. He said the war was absolutely crazy EVERY day, despite the fact that whole country was in favor of that war. This was obviously NOT ratings driven. He spoke out against that war more often than all other network/cable war opponents combined, and by a factor of 10.
When he showed the iraqi's cheering in the streets he believed he could have been wrong to oppose the war and said so. When I saw those people I was moved myself and greatly hoped I was wrong about the war . That's what we call an open mind. Something I respect.
As soon as it became apparent that the war was a mess, Matthews said so again, and has never since deviated. - dumpyhumpy, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3And he has said that he was wrong for buying into the mission accomplished speech. He said it on the air.

- PeteLP, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2Wrong. Net/Net Matthew has been a stronger opponent to the war, (from the time of the axis of evil speech forward) than anyone else in msm. He deserves huge credit for this. It's rarely acknowledged.

- xEn1gma, on 05/16/2008, -4/+3I can't view YouTube videos at my work so if someone can be kind enough to sort of lay out the basic premise of their conversation, I would appreciate it. Have a good day.
- an0nymous, on 05/16/2008, -0/+6Very well. The gentlemen pictured in the icon is an utter douchebag who appeared on Hardball with Chris Matthews. During the conversation he defends Bush's recent comments (thought to be aimed at Obama) regarding proposals to negotiate with Hamas being equivalent to Chamberlains appeasement of Hitler . When asked by Matthews what Chamberlain did that was so wrong after several painful minutes of bluster the Douchebag reveals that he has no knowledge of history and only the faintest idea who Chamberlain might be.
Matthews then gives him a small history lesson.
My synopsis here only probably doesn't give the most lasting impression of the video, that of a ***** being called on his crap to his complete and utter embarrassment. - davewashere, on 05/16/2008, -0/+11This conservative radio host, Kevin James, was referring to Bush's comments (obviously about Barack Obama) about how we shouldn't talk with our enemies. James basically compared Obama to Neville Chamberlain, who he called an appeaser. Matthews asked him what Chamberlain did, and James just kept repeating that he was an appeaser, and it becomes very obvious that James has no idea what Chamberlain did and probably just read the name on a White House talking points memo. Matthews continues to ask him what Chamberlain did, and James continues to either just say that he was an appeaser or dodge around the question entirely. Matthews won't let it go, and James finally admits that he does not know what Chamberlain did. Matthews informs him that Chamberlain (in the 1938 Munich Agreement) essentially agreed to allow Hitler to take half of Czechoslovakia in exchange for peace with England. That's appeasement, and it's very different from having a talk with the enemy, which was Matthews' point. Kevin James comes away looking like an ignorant fool.
- xEn1gma, on 05/16/2008, -0/+6Haha, that's great -- nothing like a good ol' history lesson. Thanks guys.
- arkaycee, on 05/16/2008, -0/+8My favorite was that James just kept trying to get in some vague sentences about how Chamberlain helped enhance Hitler's strength in those things that he did, and Matthews kept pressing him on what "those things" were.

- whalt, on 05/16/2008, -3/+19For Republicans it's always 1939.
- guswatkins, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3More like September 12th.
- guntario, on 05/16/2008, -8/+2Wasn't it Democrats that got us into WWII, Vietnam, and Korea?
- calantus, on 05/16/2008, -2/+7I'm pretty sure someone died at pearl harbor but i'm not sure.
- guntario, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1Who died where in America for us to get into Vietnam and Korea?
- CDHarrisUSF, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4The Republican and Democratic parties have not remained ideologically static over time. Read the History sections of their Wikipedia entries for a good start:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Party_(Uni ...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republican_Party_(Uni ...
Don't follow a party because people who did stuff you like used to go by the same name... or avoid a party because the name used to be associated with bad people. Look at the policies of the individuals for whom you vote. For example, the Democrats had the support of racist voters from the Reconstruction up until the 1930s or '40s when they adopted civil rights as part of their platform... after which time the Republican "Southern strategy" gained their support, despite the Republican Party being founded as an anti-slavery party. So, ignore the names and vote for who best represents you.- guntario, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1Thank you, that was my point. I didn't think it was necessary to explain that.
- buckrogers1965, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2I think it is peoples right to belong to political parties, and run as that parties candidate.
However, nothing says that we have to let them put their party affiliation on the ballots. So that people have to vote on individuals, not parties.
- calantus, on 05/16/2008, -2/+7I'm pretty sure someone died at pearl harbor but i'm not sure.
- rex84, on 05/16/2008, -1/+3Please get past the left/right paradigm BS, it's really us against them.
"If we don't hang together, we'll surely hang separately."
-Ben Franklin - whalt, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1My point wasn't that the Republicans of today are the Republicans of 1939 but that these days every adversary is hyped as The New Hitler and every attempt at diplomacy is labeled appeasement.
- dafragsta, on 05/16/2008, -0/+19"I think he was right, but I don't know why!" - 25% of the country, not just this guy.
- jamesmon01, on 05/16/2008, -4/+1Id say its more like 80% of the country, both on the left and the right. I align myself closer to the right on most issues (not this new neo-republican bs where instead of overspending on domestic programs, we overspend on foreign programs and then spend all our time worrying about gay marriage). But my biggest beef is this kind of crap. People on both sides of an issue that don't really understand the complexities of what they are arguing.
- timla, on 05/16/2008, -1/+10James is an idiot
- elister, on 05/16/2008, -0/+15Hilarious. This sorta reminded me of the scene in Starship Troopers where theres a TV debate about a possible hierarchy brain bug "FRANKLY I FIND THE THOUGHT OF A THINKING BUG OFFENSIVE!!!".

- Bighaugs, on 05/16/2008, -19/+5It's a bit ironic that Matthews lambasts James for 'making a direct historical reference' without knowing the background RIGHT AFTER he confuses the dating of the USS Cole attack, suggesting that it occurred under Bush and not under Clinton (as it did).
- Strungout, on 05/16/2008, -2/+8Matthews went on to say that he wasn't sure of the date, it's kinda hard to hear with that jackass James yelling.
- Jexie, on 05/16/2008, -1/+10You do have a good point, but being off by 1 year and not even having the ability to describe what appeasement is...I would say there is a significant difference in the quality of those two errors. Chris Matthews is not as great a guy as a lot of people are going to see him as from this video though for sure.
- andy2245, on 05/16/2008, -0/+13Wow Kevin should open a book once in a while.
- StillFly3, on 05/16/2008, -0/+8I saw this on TV while eating dinner ... I was literally tearing - this guy was ripped a new one.
- vaxguru, on 05/16/2008, -18/+1This is a dupe
http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Chris_Matthews_S ...- rentmitchum, on 05/16/2008, -0/+5This video is better.. it's longer at the start and end, it puts it even more in context, and the other video you miss the great line at the end with Matthews telling him to get his ***** together.. Haha.
So yea, while we saw it before, this copy of the video is better. Worth my digg.- vaxguru, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1Apologies, my bad.

- mockupscaledown, on 05/16/2008, -3/+3Looks like "***** IT, WE'LL DO IT LIVE!" is the next Digg catchphrase. I guess it's slightly better than Xenu comments, but still bury-worthy.
- Monkeydew06, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3I actually agree with you, I thought about whether or not to incorporate that phrase cause it already feels a little stale... then I thought, eh, what the hell....
- dukkha, on 05/16/2008, -0/+22"The empty can rattles the most" is all I could think about as I watched that idiot yelling to cover up his ignorance.
- nickert0n, on 05/16/2008, -1/+3Correction: "Attempt" to cover up his ignorance, he actually ended up amplifying it.

- jussipupu, on 05/16/2008, -1/+27Probably went home and cried like a little girl.
- Jexie, on 05/16/2008, -0/+9Unfortunately someone that stupid probably still just went home stamping his feet saying we're all doomed for not seeing Obama as an appeaser. People like him just don't get it.
- nickert0n, on 05/16/2008, -1/+6Its funny he beleives that the Clintons lack of action caused 9/11 when George Bush/Cheney did it themselves IMO.

- narcofiche, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4Imagine someone who probably worked a lot to get that seat on MSNBC, now he'll be a laughing stock to all of his peers. I almost feel bad for the guy, but it's deserved because he's a big idiot.

- Griberal, on 05/16/2008, -13/+1Isn't Chris Matthews the guy that had an orgasm during one of Obama's speeches?

- Vet4Peace, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2Wow. How old are you?
- Griberal, on 05/16/2008, -3/+0Old enough to know that I shouldn't say a man's speech sent a thrill up my leg. Especially, if my job was to show impartiality to a process.
I'm also old enough to now that Matthews is so far in the tank for Obama, that just the thought of Obama not winning brings Matthews to tears.

- hammerhand82, on 05/16/2008, -7/+13Matthews is a nut, if you don't believe me go watch a live show. Saw him at UNC live with John Edwards and at a speech at Hobart.
He's insane, BUT!!!! That was COOL.
They are right that this administration time and time again (and its supporters) show they don't base their opinions on true facts.
and for xEn1gma
they are talking about remarks Bush made in Israel during the 60th university of the founding of the Israeli State after world war II
Bush said "Some people suggest that if the United States would just break ties with Israel, all our problems in the Middle East would go away."
Check out this article
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/05/15/bush ...
Referring to Obama
But this dude supporting Bush's statement starts spouting off about how Chamberlain "Talked" to Hitler and how Barack is backed by Hamas.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neville_Chamberlain
So Matthews calls him on it and asks "what did Chamberlain do?"
The guy yells for awhile and finally breaks down and admits he has no clue what Chamberlain did
Painful to watch but great to see the media (even Matthews) stand up for the facts.- frygar, on 05/16/2008, -2/+2Sadly, I truly believe he went through all that trouble to stir up drama and not give the Democratic individual a chance to talk. Mission Accomplished. :/
- sygyzy, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2Wonderful informative response. Thank you.
- Barakolypse, on 05/16/2008, -13/+0This only proves that MSNBC is liberal biased garbage. Chris Matthews needs to get off Obamas nuts
- gjunkie, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4He had no idea what he was talking about! It doesn't matter what show he's on!
