moderndeism.blogspot.com — You can help to try to save the life of a 23-year-old Afghan journalism student and reporter named Sayed Parwiz Kambakhsh. He has been sentenced to death for downloading and distributing material suggesting that Islam oppresses women.

- cashman57, on 07/09/2008, -1/+8When our government sent the taliban scurrying across the border into Pakistan and created a new government in Afghanistan we set up an islamic country. That means islam is infallible and supreme and insulting islam is a capital offense.
Some way to spread freedom?
It also means that those who are important in islam, the men, rule over those who their prophet said would all go to hell for being deceivers, the women.
How our government came to accept that islam was the model for government is beyond me.
Perhaps they forgot OUR history and how we became a country in order to be free in our practice of religion.
Perhaps they forgot we are free to express ourselves and not be threatened with death?

Like any faith, Islam has its fanatics, as does Christianity and Catholicism, the attention that the fanatics get misrepresents whats really happening.
