- therebis, on 12/16/2007, -0/+2Since Senator Reid won't honor a "hold" by a fellow Democratic Senator but is more than willing to do so for Republican Senators it is time for a real filibuster in the Senate. Not the "filibusters" that Reid allows for the Republicans that has to only mean that 60 votes are needed and there is no real filibuster at all ("Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" by Frank Capra is a film that dramatizes a Senate filibuster).
- newtonusr, on 12/16/2007, -0/+3A terrific thread, with a huge number of great comments and questions for the Senior Senator from Connecticut.
- Timewatcher, on 12/16/2007, -0/+1Thank you for your voice Senator Dodd, I have much respect for what your father, mother and family went through for our Nation years ago. Your whole family deserves the Medal of Honor. Thank you for taking a stand for our Nation again...can you believe you have to see this again after how many years? Peace, Health and Love to you and yours....

- rxbusa, on 12/17/2007, -0/+0Godspeed, Senator Dodd!
- laredactora, on 12/17/2007, -0/+2Bless you, Sen. Dodd. Stand firm. I am sick and tired of Harry Reid and other so-called leaders of the Democratic Party pretending to speak for us, yet kow-towing to those criminals in the White House. This has to stop now.
- oregonian39, on 12/17/2007, -0/+1I can't wait to see what Clinton and Obama do on this. They have previously pledged to support Dodd in this so we will see where their priorities really lie.
- siun, on 12/17/2007, -0/+1this will be a real test for Clinton and Obama - will they stand for the constitution?
- sdonahoe, on 12/17/2007, -0/+1Remember that Obama and Clinton want Harry Reid to hand them the Nevada caucus on January 19th, so they'll chicken out on this vote and feed some more from the corporate trough. Anyone reading this from Nevada giving Edwards a closer look now?
- rdjmcdowell, on 12/17/2007, -0/+1I suggest the Senator read Abe Lincoln's speech at Cooper Union while running for president.
He can use it as and example for defining your opposition in very exact terms and as a model for discussing ways to successfully defend one's own convictions. It is also a long speech and though it speaks of different issues it could serve to edify those who aren't clear on their positions regarding basic constitutional issues. - anonymous007, on 12/17/2007, -0/+0A real democrat. Take a picture...quick!
