Fox analyst: Serving the common good is 'un-American'
rawstory.com — Both presidential candidates have been telling audiences recently that it's a good thing to devote themselves to a cause greater than themselves. However, business analyst Jonathan Hoenig, author of Greed is Good, thinks otherwise. "To me, that's very un-American," he told Fox.

- magicmarker44, on 07/15/2008, -0/+9Just because Hoening is a selfish greedy bastard, doesn't mean it's "un-American" for people who aren't as greedy and selfish as he is to be concerned about the common good of our fellow Americans and all people around this planet that we share as our home... What an ignorant commentary! These types of conservatives are so wrapped up in their own concerns and can't even begin to think outside their own selfish little worlds! This is exactly the type of short-sighted and ignorant thinking that is the main reason why things are so screwed up in this country and the world! We all need to start treating each other the way we'd like to be treated and stop being so damn selfish and greedy!

- NickD, on 07/15/2008, -0/+9There is such a thing as capitalism going too far (take the war for example). I am all for capitalism, bit not when it comes to ignoring all else in the name of self interest.
- obliviousfool, on 07/16/2008, -0/+5Where do they find these people?
- JohnUSeed, on 07/17/2008, -0/+5Simple: Under rocks where you can find other vermin.
- MorganMghee, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2It appears this 'person' was found on the Chicago board of trade, as a floor trader.
http://www.capitalistpig.com appears to be his company, what a shock.
Wiki starts off like this about him, which speaks volumes:
"Jonathan Hoenig (born September 10, 1975) is managing member at a hedge fund and a regular contributor to Fox News Channel's Cashin' In,"
crooksandliars has this lovely tidbit:
"Jan 28, 2008 ... Jonathan Hoenig is their resident flame thrower who doesn’t only appear on Saturday but all over their dial"
And Newshounds:
Jonathan Hoenig, of Capitalistpig.com, proved himself another out of touch and clueless FOX News pundit on Tuesday night’s Hannity & Colmes (7/18/06).
From an Ayn Rand fan forum:
To answer one of your questions regarding whether or not Jonathan is a Libertarian, Jonathan has expressed that he is a Capitalist above all. He did, indeed, say that he was supporting the Libertarian presidential candidate on the Fox News show he regularly appears on called "Cashin' In" - Saturday mornings. He was also dressed in a bear suit at the time of expressing this.
Of course, mediamatters:
Hoenig asserted that bombing Iran would raise the Dow Jones industrial average. Hoening stated: "[F]rankly, if you want to see the Dow go up, let's get the bombers in the air" Tue, Jun 6, 2006
So, GOP pundit for corporate owned 'newshow' (can't call it news, now can ya) who states capitalism above all else and speaks for GOP but states will vote libertarian while wearing a bear costume and has stated bombing other countries to raise the DOW is a good idea. I wonder when that idea will occur to China, thanks for puttin that out there mate. - MorganMghee, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2American: Hard working, patriotic, motivated, entrepreneurial, resilient, honest and fair
Capitalist above all else: Lie for money, cheat for money, steal for money, sell out your country for money. - alapoet, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2Hoenig: Obnoxious, piggish idiot.
