John Edwards on FISA
firedoglake.com — It's time for Senate Democrats to show a little backbone and stand up to George W. Bush and the corporate lobbyists. They should do everything in their power - including joining Senator Dodd's efforts to filibuster this legislation -- to stop retroactive immunity. The Constitution should not be for sale at any price."

- thisniss, on 01/24/2008, -1/+6John Edwards - once again proving himself to be more progressive and bolder than Clinton or Obama. Why can't this guy not get the press he deserves???
- FyreGoddess, on 01/25/2008, -0/+1Because he's not making entertainment. He's trying to run a serious campaign and speak to the actual issues at hand, instead of claiming to be marginalized because of his color or sex. Even his chosen important issues aren't glamorous, so why, in the days of the writer's strike, when we are entertained by reality television, should the media focus on someone who is not nearly as entertaining, controversial or polarizing as the others?
- Patrickson, on 01/24/2008, -0/+3Clinton and Obama: damn cowards. Until they prove otherwise.

The platform is/was shaped By John Edwards!
Vote for a Leader! not a calculating Triangulator - principle, on 01/25/2008, -0/+1Reid… he is simply a traitor! It was in his power to bring to the floor only the bill from the Senate Judiciary Committee without retroactive immunity for telecommunications companies. Instead, he brought it with the bill from the Intelligence Panel. The GOP quickly got rid of the Committee bill and voted in a cloture, so it cannot be filibustered.
In the past GOP snuck in immunity for Bush for torture that could have netted him life in prison. Then they openly passed a bill giving Bush immunity for illegal wiretapping that also could have netted him life in prison. Now they are going to give immunity to the telecoms because it could have cost them a fortune.
So where were Obama and Clinton?
