Lieberman Praises Hagee, Compares Him To Moses

thinkprogress.org — Yesterday, Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I-CT) spoke at the controversial pastor John Hagee ’s Christians United For Israel Washington-Israel Summit. Lieberman, however, says he still has the utmost respect for the pastor, who once said that Hurricane Katrina was punishment to New Orleans for hosting a gay pride parade.

I don't go around touting how if you're not a Christian, you're going to burn in hell. If the Bible is to be believed, he led several aggressive wars and called in the equivalent of an airstrike on people who disagreed with him (the death toll among the Jews who quareled with Moses was just short of 15,000). Since Hagee hasn't killed anyone that I know of, he sounds like a pussycat next to Moses - but perhaps God just hasn't had time to start on Hagee's personal hitlist yet.

        Not only that, but speaking is an action. Unless you can stand perfectly still and project your thoughts in a way that is audible to the people in your company. Even then, there isn't much of a difference from actually taking the action to speak (except that it would be a mighty keen trick).
