youtube.com — Wow! This was good. O'Reilly talked to Barney Frank in the only language he understands- Screaming. It was great to see the Dem Rep put in his place for his role in the mortgage crisis.

- CommonSense2k8, on 10/03/2008, -25/+13Why would any democrat go on Bill O'reilly. He is a shame, the worst of journalism, and an embarrassment to our nation for the amount of viewers he has.
Bill O'Reilly is a joke.- ryanmorse, on 10/03/2008, -3/+22Barney Frank is a joke.
- Charlotte_Web, on 10/03/2008, -2/+18Unfortunate, the American taxpayer is the punchline.
YouTube is rife with evidence of Barney Frank's mishandling of Fannie & Freddie, and he refuses to own up to his failures.
- Charlotte_Web, on 10/03/2008, -2/+18Unfortunate, the American taxpayer is the punchline.
- doctorfungi, on 10/03/2008, -3/+14I'd be willing to bet $20 that you've never watched Bill O'Reilly for more than two minutes. Granted, the Huffington Post says that he's evil so I guess he must be, right?
- Nitesmoke, on 10/03/2008, -2/+11Unlike Digg's God Kieth Olberman, O'Reilly blasts Republicans as often as he blasts Democrats. Everyone hates on him because they don't like to see their precious Dems asked hard questions, they like it when Obama goes on an interview and is literally ***** asked "boxers or briefs." Just because most of the people on Digg hang their bongs in San Francisco, doesn't mean the rest of America buys into this ***** with the media sucking Obama's *****. We are tired of Democrats getting swooned over in interviews, while Republicans are questioned like criminals, and have their answers edited to make them look bad.
Frank stated that Fannie and Freddie "are in no danger of going under" He ***** said that. Now he wants to blame everyone else, when he was the one in charge. Thank God there is at least one man who will ask the hard questions to BOTH sides, and guess what, he has the number 1 show on all of cable news and is watched by 3 times as many Dems as Olberman, who spends his hour hashing out Dem talking points. With O'Reilly, you are never sure who he is going after, it may be Bush, it may be Clinton, unlike Olberman, who always sides with the Dems, every single time no matter what. Left-wing college professors, who hate O'Reilly, tried to prove he is bias for the right but after 4 years of keeping stats on his statements and segments HE IS THE MOST FAIR PUNDIT ON TELEVISION. Yes, he will yell over you if you try to lie or put a positive spin on something negative, just like Frank tried to do. Here is the beginning of that interview where Frank says Fannie and Freddie are not going under: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXdi5hDYgcY&feature ... Frank: "I think this is a case where Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are fundamentally sound. They're not in danger of going under. They're not the best investment these days from a long term standpoint going back. I think they are in good shape going forward. They're in the housing market. I do think their prospects going forward are very solid" Too bad this will be buried by the Digg crowd who are more interested in agenda than truth.- XNihil0Zer0, on 10/03/2008, -4/+2Find me a clip of O'Reilly yelling at a republican like he just did to Frank and I will send you $10,000. Likewise find me a clip of Olbermann yelling at a republican like O'Reilly just did and I will send you $10,000.
- primaldefense, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx ... is a link to a new article where O'Reilly is blasted for blasting Conservative Talk Show Host Mark Levin who opposed the bailout. I don't think anyone has posted a video clip but O'Reilly does rip ppl on both sides of the political spectrum.
- ryanmorse, on 10/03/2008, -3/+22Barney Frank is a joke.
- ryanmorse, on 10/03/2008, -10/+29Bravo Bill, Bravo.
- jonnyboy1544, on 10/03/2008, -7/+28Our banks are in shambles and this Masshole, who by the way is the chairman of the House financial services committee, takes absolutely no blame... just like he says, in an private entity, he'd be out on his ass.
There's enough blame to go around but no one on the Hill should be pointing fingers; we should all be pointing fingers at them. - DanQuist, on 10/03/2008, -8/+20That was sweet, haha
- zelig, on 10/03/2008, -9/+22Democrats are in full re-spin mode this week- trying hard to stick this financial crisis on Bush and Republicans; remember, it was Bush who tried several times to reign in Fanny and Freddie but Barney Frank and others refused. Now you have Joe Biden, and Frank himself going around trying to turn the tables, and the MSM facilitating the whole thing. Brazen!
- these3remain, on 10/03/2008, -2/+13"Brazen!" Yes, but it should come as no surprise. The demonrats will never accept responsibility for anything - their whole game is one of blame-shifting, finger pointing while sitting around in the house doing nothing but holding hearings on illegal steroid use by baseball players. Frank should have been on top of this but as usual, did nothing SIMPLY to be able to point to republicans during an election year. The behavior is not only despicable, it's outright criminal. He should be investigated and removed from his post. Believe me, if there was a basis for it , they'd be calling for investigations of any republican they could - but they can't which is why they are doing everything they can to blame this debacle on the present administration and republicans. Phooey! They either saw this coming and did nothing, or they were too stupid and did nothing.
- inboxnews, on 10/03/2008, -9/+20Barney Frank chairman of the House financial services committee on July 14, 2008: I think this is a case where Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are fundamentally sound. They're not in danger of going under. They're not the best investment these days from a long term standpoint going back. I think they are in good shape going forward. They're in the housing market. I do think their prospects going forward are very solid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rz-d6WPTXa8
- chriskzoo, on 10/03/2008, -3/+12"fundamentally sound"
"good shape going forward"
"prospects going forward are very solid"
Then he tries to say he said they were not the best investments - LO-*****-L
- chriskzoo, on 10/03/2008, -3/+12"fundamentally sound"
- dbwood, on 10/03/2008, -13/+8O'Reilly is the last person in so-called "conservative" media to even bring this up. Shame on O'Reilly. Lately he has been going way downhill in my opinion, berating others for saying this bill is socialism etc. I will never watch him again, his true colours have begun to show more than anything the past couple years. He is not a fiscal conservative, he is not even conservative, he is a media puppet that plays to the middle.
- Glynth, on 10/05/2008, -1/+1O'Reilly has *always* been a moderate conservative, at least that's the impression I've had from the majority of his shows for several years now. I don't agree with everything he says, and on some subjects I disagree a lot, but to say he's not conservative at all is untenable, and to call him a "media puppet that plays to the middle" is just plain silly .
- solid12345, on 10/03/2008, -10/+16Typical dems always want to blame Bush for every mess that goes on, never take any self responsibility for the failures of the committees they chair.
- xt0xicx, on 10/04/2008, -1/+1Both parties are at fault here... the democratic controlled congress and the republican president.
- chriskzoo, on 10/03/2008, -8/+15Franks' exact quote from the clip Bill played:
"I think this is a case where Fannie and Freddie are fundamentally sound, that they are not in danger of going under. They're not the best investments these days from the long-term standpoint going back. I think they are in good shape going forward.
They're in a housing market. I do think their prospects going forward are very solid. And in fact, we're going to do some things that are going to improve them."
So, they were "in good shape going forward" and "prospects going forward are very solid" and then 2 months later the Fed has to bail them out. How he could try and hide behind saying they were not the best investments "going back" is beyond me. Don't people invest on prospects "going forward"???
COMPLETE ***** CROOK! - diggFunction, on 10/03/2008, -8/+17Democrats are neck deep in there own feces here

- ChronicColonic, on 10/03/2008, -1/+4...and their water wings are flat.
- phydeaux70, on 10/03/2008, -8/+15So...he played the clip and then read the transcript and Frank still lies, what a joke.
I don't appreciate the way that O'Reilly comes off at times, but I did like that he said 'at least he had the guts to say 'I screwed up'' whereas the Democats blame everybody else. Well said and it also happens to be the truth.
There is plenty of blame to go around on this, it would be nice to see the Democrats accept some of it. And even factcheck.org does say that McCain warned and was voted against by Democrats.- offrdbandit, on 10/03/2008, -2/+6Democrats aren't used to having to justify their positions to a rational audience, hence his inability to do so.
Waffling, hatemongering, and aggrandizing typically serve them better...
- offrdbandit, on 10/03/2008, -2/+6Democrats aren't used to having to justify their positions to a rational audience, hence his inability to do so.
- professor357, on 10/03/2008, -7/+12Barney Frank also played a role in rewriting the CRA rules back during the Clinton Administration, when banks were being forced to increase minority lending in order to do business, but in new branches and continue to get "cred" with the banking regulators.
- TGMD, on 10/03/2008, -10/+3Bill is the world's biggest *****...
Although Barney Frank did have it coming.
Of course when this reaches the front page all people will do is defend Frank, simply because he's a democrat and attack bill (rightly) for being an *****. - jeebus16, on 10/03/2008, -8/+7inaccurate. should be titled "bill oreilly's mic is turned up so loud that it's impossible to talk over him again, but don't worry he never actually makes a point anyways" like barney frank or not you would have to admit that this was less of an interview and more of a "gotcha" campaign in order to get somebody to say they were wrong and then you can sit back all smug and say "gotcha! it's all your fault"
- thepalineffect, on 10/04/2008, -1/+1Barney Frank gives you tingles doesn't he? And not in the Matthews way either.
- Rosemary02, on 10/04/2008, -1/+3It was Frank's fault. Along with Chris Dodd, Barack Obama, and other high profile Democrats. Frank, Pelosi, and Dodd spent the last two weeks telling bald faced lies on TV that Republican deregulation caused this. The MSM was quite happy not to tell the truth or question the Democrats about their role.
- VoodooPunk, on 10/03/2008, -8/+11Frank's an incompetent moron. Fortunately for him, government seems to be the only place where incompetence is not just ignored but highly valued.
- LeadOffMan, on 10/03/2008, -8/+10God please never let me have to see Barney Frank on tv again, please?
- wishninja, on 10/04/2008, -7/+4Oxley and Baker wanted to do something about this back in '05. While yes Frank was a douche for standing in their way he was only one vote and the House passed the bill.
It was Bush co. along with Alan Greenspan that opposed the bill and it stalled without consideration in the Senate Banking committee. I think the republicans ran both of those guys out of office, after that they both quit.
There is plenty plenty of blame to go around folks. Bill will never ever talk to those guys like that. By the time Frank was in the chair the whole thing was going to fall over anyway. Frank was just in the same denial that all those ***** were even laughing it up at Ron Paul for suggesting the economy was falling apart in the debates just a few months back. - TheInformer, on 10/04/2008, -5/+7O'Reilly says what the majority of Americans feel. They're sick of the BS in Washington. Barney Frank can't take the heat when he's exposed for what he is. It's so much fun to watch a POLITICIAN squirm.
