The raid was carried out according to proper procedure.

- Noods, on 08/09/2008, -4/+31If you concern is the dogs, your priorities are out of alignment. This happens all the time here in Baltimore and *people* die because of it. We need to end the drug war and no-knock policies.

- inspecality, on 08/09/2008, -2/+10It's funny how FOXNews.com fails to include the fact that police dressed as delivery men delived the package.
"It was delivered to Calvo's house by police posing as deliverymen and left on his porch at the instructions of his mother-in-law. After the raid, police recovered an unopened package containing more than 30 pounds of marijuana, but they made no arrests."

buried as inaccurate...it's gotta be.- TheSuperunknown, on 08/09/2008, -0/+5That's the right attitude to have!
There's very little indication that this story is inaccurate. Fox News' track record would suggest they would side with the police, and they did not. - TheEngineer2008, on 08/09/2008, -1/+4"buried as inaccurate...it's gotta be."

- jack12345678910, on 08/09/2008, -1/+0alright what im gonna say sounds conspiratorial but this sort of mistake seems too stupid to be made by professionals. you wouldn't raid someone's house without a proper warrant and what judge would allow evidence that isn't concrete at all to be used as justification. this must've been a situation where they pissed off the wrong people.

- PhilLesh69, on 08/09/2008, -2/+9Some people get jobs where they can hold a gun because they are twisted sociopathic morons. Some of them even pass the psychological tests, and actually get to hold a gun.

- Robjayne, on 08/08/2008, -15/+56Government must protect people from themselves. So what if innocent people are occationally hurt. The police should raid every home periodically just to make sure we don,t have any contraband. I bet reed and all digg this up.

We can petition the government for a right to drive to work, or to the store, or to see the doctor. Otherwise, we have no right to be on the streets.
That way, we will all feel safer knowing that the only people on the street are approved by the government and have a peaceful reason to be on the street. - DagonNL, on 08/09/2008, -0/+3It isn't necessary in civilized countries. Such a think is unheard of in the netherlands.

- Jgal1, on 08/08/2008, -18/+105This is insane! these cops should all be in handcuffs! Shooting dogs and handcuffing old people in their own homes for some weed. This is a drug teenagers smoke behind their schools. Soccor moms steal it from their kids and smoke it with their girlfriends, but if Phizer isn't charging $180 an ounce for it with a generous gov't kick back it's gotta be a bad thing. Weed isn't killing anyone!! If a cop shot my dog I'd kill him, I would go to jail for murder b/c I would shoot him in his face and anyone else who was even there! Cops are the dumbest people in our society.
- Alegoo92, on 08/09/2008, -31/+4You're a moron you know? Surely YOU are dumber than the average cop.
Have fun killing people for wounding animals.- senatorpjt, on 08/09/2008, -8/+7A dog I know is worth more than a person I don't.
- Jgal1, on 08/20/2008, -0/+0"Wounding animals?" Read it again, they ran after a dog that was running away and shot him. And yes there are plenty animals I value higher than people. And the average cop is a moron. And I do have fun, often.
- veronicaromm, on 08/09/2008, -8/+19How is shooting someone in the face going to stop anything? And unless you have been to jail, I would not be so quick to shoot anyone, ever.
- santaliqueur, on 08/09/2008, -3/+14On the internet, everyone is a tough guy. Let him act like one for a while.
- jdaniel284, on 08/09/2008, -1/+7Shooting someone in the face will stop this activity the same way electricity stops someone from sticking a fork in a socket.
And this guy may not being an "internet tough guy". Our forefathers were not a bunch of flip-flop wearing metrosexuals like most of you are these days... when someone ***** with their private property and family, they fought back like wild animals. It didn't matter if it was a wayward criminal or a government tyrant. There are still men like that today, just far and few between. This guy might be one of them. - Jgal1, on 08/20/2008, -0/+0Number one: I am a tough-girl. Number two: if you knew me you wouldn't question that. And number three: I am one of a pair of young professionals who live with 2 large black rottie mixes. The kind of dogs, like in this sad event, cops love to shoot. That is what accounts for my written display of toughness. I would protect those boys like they were my children at any cost, internet or not, of that you can be positive.
I had a cop in my office last week, he was here on his time off for personal business. We have 2 office cats here. One of them jumped on my desk and the cop flipped out, he said "Get it out of here! Get it out of here!" So I put the cat in another room thinking he was very allergic or something. He then said, " This old lady died in the Bronx last week and we went in the apt to answer a complaint of strange smells and she had 16 cats. My buddy and I shot every one of them. We weren't going to deal with that sh*t." At that point I concluded my business with this man and asked him to leave. Is cool now for cops to shoot animals just because? If this bumbling idiot ever charges into my home with guns blaring, I got a bullet for him. Just because you are bigger or more powerful than something or someone it doesn't mean it is your right to harm it. If you are not going to eat it, there is no need to bring it harm.
- Mark2600, on 08/09/2008, -11/+5You, my friend, are a buffoon.
- DagonNL, on 08/09/2008, -3/+5I would too,not a second of doubt. If I see blood splatter from the snow-white fur of my shepherd, see the life fade from his eyes, the cop has a closed casket funeral. I would expect to die there and then, but I'd kill as many as I could.
- Azerael, on 08/09/2008, -8/+3You'd kill random people and throw your life away because of an animal?
Ease off the Naruto, kiddo. - jdaniel284, on 08/09/2008, -1/+9No, he would not kill random people because of an animal. He would kill specific government tyrants that invaded his private property without cause and murdered his pets to which he had invested significant emotional devotion. He would kill specific tyrants that recklessly caused irreparable emotional scarring to his family.
Don't make him out to be a serial killer that is triggered by the sight of random roadkill. Instead, paint him a man with a sense of self-respect and honor living in country of feminized boys that cringe at the thought of defending themselves or their family. - Archon810, on 08/09/2008, -0/+1Soccor?
- Azerael, on 08/09/2008, -8/+3You'd kill random people and throw your life away because of an animal?
- Perlpro, on 08/09/2008, -2/+8Agreed with everything you said, up to 'cops are the dumbest people in our society'. Don't blame the cops for the current situation. Sure, there are bad apples, but the War On Drugs is waged by politicians and big business. Same reason why you shouldn't blame soldiers when innocent civilians get killed in a war-zone. The only way to end the insanity is to end the WAR (on drugs, in this case).
- Jgal1, on 08/20/2008, -0/+0Of course we need the police. They just need to test these individuals better. I'm Italian I have a lot of cops in my family, but truthfully speaking, they are the ones who couldn't hack college. One of my relatives(I hope he/she doesn't read this) is especially dumb, but not dumb alone. This person is also passive aggressive, a little bit crazy and as a kid totally unsafe handling a gun, no matter how much guidance he/she was given. We never thought he/she would pass the psych test, but low and behold he/she is steadily rising through the ranks.
My recent contact with police came Monday morning when I had to make a police report. An insane man is obsessed with my boss, who he believes is following him. The guy has been watching our office for three days and disrupts our business activity. The cops say they can do nothing until he hurts someone. We gave the police his plate number and vehicle desc. and asked them to warn the man, he has been sitting outside our office for all this time but the cops maintain they cannot find him. Later in the afternoon, the man harassed some workers leaving the building. I asked the cops to return to the office and warn him since they claim they have not been able to locate the man.
The cops arrive I tell them about the recent incident. The cops yes me a little and go to leave and then I see the guy sitting across the street. I point to the man and tell the cops, "he's right there." They begin to argue with me that it's not him. I say, "there is his vehicle with the matching plates right next to him!"
Now you can argue there might have been a two-for sale at DD's or that maybe their shift was ending, but I'm gonna stick with plain dumb.
- Jgal1, on 08/20/2008, -0/+0Of course we need the police. They just need to test these individuals better. - thbigtiket21, on 08/09/2008, -4/+0Classic digg reasoning. Generalizations galore. I cannot stand it when people rip on the police. They put there life on the line to protect us. Obviously this situation was very unacceptable and wrong but c'mon. "Cops are the dumbest people in our society." Could you imagine what if would be like without police keeping order? Give 'em some credit.
- LastAXEL, on 08/09/2008, -0/+3give 'em credit?...
When they stop doing warrant-less raids, tasering innocent people(with broken backs even), and treating marijuana users like violent murderers than i will give them some credit. - thbigtiket21, on 08/09/2008, -0/+0my point was not that they are all justified for every bad thing that they do. I'm saying that there are cops that are good, honorable people that deserve respect and credit for saving and protecting lives. Putting all cops into the overzealous drug busting savage group is wrong.
- Jgal1, on 08/20/2008, -0/+0I don't know where you live but it's sounds wonderful. I grew up in a town where cops did very unethical things and it was just accepted. The cops were crap. Now I work in a town with the same problem.

- USNavyBlue, on 08/08/2008, -5/+43Good grief, the Police State has officially arrived. The disgusting part to all of this is that this is common in out of control PG County, MD for people unfamiliar with area. - PopcornDave, on 08/09/2008, -0/+6Not only should they be tried, but if convicted should be barred from working in *any* kind of law enforcement ever again - even down to working a night time security shift. There's no excuse for this kind of behavior at all.

- nutz2u2, on 08/08/2008, -2/+89Don't forget the old saying: "Give a guy a badge and a gun, and he thinks he's God".
- PhilLesh69, on 08/09/2008, -1/+14A boss I had in High School told me once...
"There's two kinds of people who become police. There's the guy who likes to have power and carry a gun, and there's the guy who knows that if he wasn't a cop, he'd be a criminal".- je12u, on 08/09/2008, -0/+1 I'd still rather be a criminal. Best case you make your money and live fun...worst case you get caught but could possibly be respected in prison. One thing you don't want to be is a criminal cop that goes to jail.
- Skooma714, on 08/09/2008, -0/+2But cops rarely go to jail. Hell, they get promotions and medals.
- PhilLesh69, on 08/11/2008, -0/+1je12u,
I like the choice you forgot: I'd rather be the guy who lives a good, respectful and affluent life.
Best case, I make money, live fun and never have to deal with cops other than when I violate some lifestyle or behavior rule, worst case, I never have to try to get respect in prison.

We have heard this many times...The complaints of police brutality have been echoed in the African American and Hispanic communities for centuries and up until that time it was always dismissed by racist whites who think that killing, abusing and violating the RIGHTS of Blacks, Hispanics and Asians is nothing to be concerned about...
Well as time would have it now the absolute powere given to white cops has come full circle and now they have made their victims THEIR OWN...NOW COMES THE UPROAR.
You see whites...now you understand what the African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanic Americans and Asian American have been telling you about yourselves for centuries. Now who are you gonna complain to about this???- PhilLesh69, on 08/11/2008, -0/+1Sad.
You've been victimized your entire life. Every day, you've been reminded how the man is keeping you down.
Eventually, you came to believe the same things you believed the "other" group did. So now it is whitey's fault, and whitey is all in it together.

- Mark2600, on 08/09/2008, -5/+9Waco?
Seriously? - sturmgiest, on 08/09/2008, -1/+12Read about Ruby Ridge again. Yes, the family was completely crazy, but they didnt even know they were being stalked by heavily armed FBI assault teams until their dog spotted one. It was an overuse of force, and you cant justify the FBI sniper shooting them unprovoked. Furthermore, the whole incident was over a ***** NFA sawn off shotgun law. Is it really worth killing people over a "shotgun with a barrel length of less than 20 inches"? The family did nothing else besides that. They were crazy, they had neo-nazi connections, but that doesnt mean its ok to kill them.
And Waco? Waco was a no-knock early morning raid by SEVENTY-FIVE ATF AGENTS WITH ASSAULT RIFLES. They did not try to send a single car up to the compound. They went in with an army, unannounced, no negotiations in the early part of the raid. Yes, it was a crazy cult, but it was once again an overreach of government authority. Again, it was also over some NFA items.
But 911 truthers need to stfu. Neither raid was a conspiracy, they were just examples of terrible decision making and over reach of police.- throop77, on 08/09/2008, -0/+4Good comment.

If the cops are at your door don't answer. You have no obligation to answer the door. Don't even bother talking to them, because cops are trained to find any silly infraction. If they had a warrant to being with you would have m16s in your face and your dog's brains splattered on the wall.- dagnome1984, on 08/09/2008, -1/+8If you are going to quote me at the very least include my screen name.

Then they shot the dog that tried to run away. Then they tied up the mother-in-law and placed her down on the floor by the dead dog. Absolutely horrendous behavior.
- Aero347, on 08/09/2008, -0/+1This isn't going to look good on their resumes.
- PhilLesh69, on 08/09/2008, -0/+3I agree with what you are saying. If the cops come to your door, never let them in. Open the door, walk outside onto the doorstep and close the door behind you, and then talk to them. Don't actually "talk", but just explain that you have nothing to say. Cooperate, but don't give them any information.
I had this happen when I was renting my basement to a *****. He started dating a 15 year old he met at the McDonald's drive through. A ***** 26 year old who was dating a 15 year old.
One morning, the cops came to my door. I stepped outside and talked to them. They told me that they were the police officers assigned to Langley High School, and that she had not shown up to school that day, and that her friends named my tenant as her boyfriend, etc.
They asked if they could come into my house to look for her. I told them that there was no way I was going to allow them into my house without a warrant, because I don't know what they might find that they could then pin on me. I told them that this tenant was obviously doing illegal things, and I do not want to expose myself to being charged with whatever illegal activity he might have been doing, and possibly have my home seized for whatever illegal ***** this guy was up to. I told them that he could have drugs in his room, for all I know, and letting them in to do a search could put me at risk of losing my home.
They were cool about it. The one cop said "Yes sir, I understand. If you see her, please call me, here's my card. And, if you see any illegal activity in your house, we know you are just the landlord, and we can help you out, we can arrest this guy and get him out of your hair. We don't seize property from people who are not involved in illegal activity".
Yeah right, I said. I hear ya. But you've got to know i can't take that risk. I've got a mortgage. But if I can get this dirtbag out of my house, he's all your's.
And my tenant's father was a director or some other higher up at FDIC, James Baebel, and I later learned that when John Baebel rented my basement, he was on parole for Credit Card Fraud. Oh, the irony.- Seth024, on 08/09/2008, -0/+2"obviously doing illegal things"
Don't tell the police that there is illegal activity going on inside the house. That's like pleading guilty. They won't need a warrant anymore because they have probable cause. - Aero347, on 08/09/2008, -1/+1What happened to honesty?

- FrankHope, on 08/09/2008, -1/+71The PG Police chief says, "The Calvo family members were the apparent victims of a local drug ring."
NO, they were the victims of a gang of thugs dressed in police uniforms. There is no way to justify using a SWAT team to bust down a door in a drug case without any evidence that the "suspect" is dangerous. First they bust down the door and then they take some gratuitous shots at some family dogs. Whoever is in charge of this unit should be held responsible and fired. You mean it never occurred to these drug enforcement "professionals" that somebody would send a package to an innocent person. In other words some stupid petty drug dealers are smarter than the PG police.
If this happened to a black family, it would never even have made the news. This is just the way the Police do business every day. Don't think it can happen to you? Think again.- insertAliasHere, on 08/09/2008, -6/+4"If this happened to a black family, it would never even have made the news."
*****.
In San Antonio, several years ago, something similar happened. The cops got the wrong address to a duplex, and went in the wrong side. So instead of drug and gun dealers, the swat team found several dirt-poor illegal Mexican immigrants living there. It was ALL over the news when it happened. Everyone knew about it. And the city apologized to the immigrants.
So what makes you dig and search for racism where there isn't any?- sulthernao, on 08/09/2008, -0/+9Apparently these very same cops (PG) had done the same thing in a previous drug raid. It wasn't in the news. The only reason it is in the news is because this guy is a mayor.
- askantik, on 08/09/2008, -1/+2I don't think it has to do as much with race as it does with poor people. In general, if things like this happen to poor people or people who are not prominent, we never hear about it. That's why on TV you hear about some pop star dying or a movie star overdosing, despite the fact that it happens to thousands of "regular" people every year.
- sinrtb, on 08/09/2008, -0/+3I have no idea what you are talking about.
Just as I am sure you never heard of any of the policy brutality that i local to my area. Rarely does it make the national news unless its a rich white person.
That kinda proves Franks point. - insertAliasHere, on 08/09/2008, -1/+1@askantik
If it was about class, and not race, why did he say "black family" instead of "poor family?"
@sinrtb
What happened in San Antonio wasn't brutality, it was a unintentional (and misfortunate) mistake.
It made national news. Perhaps you didn't hear about it because it was several years ago, before digg. Maybe you missed the news that day or week.
I'm not denying that because it happened to a mayor that it will get more coverage; it makes for a better news story. News is a business, and they deliver what sells. It's simply a fact of this reality. But to say that other incidents won't get any coverage because it happens to minorities is just wrong. - FrankHope, on 08/09/2008, -1/+1If you have ever been to PG county or Washington, DC, then you will know why I said race. PG (Prince Georges) County is known for its rascist police force. DC is one of the most segregated cities in the US.
BTW, if you RTFA you will notice it says the same thing about race.
FTA: "Maryland State Sen. Paul Pinsky, who represents the suburban Washington district, said the case was a good example of frequent police action in minority communities that fails to capture the same level of attention as Calvo's case."

This story is very sad. I could not imagine what I would do in their shoes. I'd be absolutely heartbroken. - m2garand, on 08/09/2008, -6/+21I'm an anarchist. I believe the police are a completely worthless part of government. Police very rarely even investigate crimes. My mother's house was broken into, the cops came over wrote a report and then filed it. No questions to the neighbors on whether they saw anything, no fingerprinting the jewelery box that the theifs took, no going to local pawn shops, nothing. No investigation whatsoever.
- FrankHope, on 08/09/2008, -1/+10That's the reality. And if you sit in a courtroom on jury duty and see what goes on, you realize there is very little justice at that end either.
- Minarchian, on 08/09/2008, -0/+14There's more justice that *could* occur in the courtroom, if only people knew they have the ability to judge the law as well as the facts.
- Kent4jmj, on 08/09/2008, -0/+2Good point. If you know the law is unjust, unconstitutional or inapplicable vote Not Guilty.
- tomjeff08, on 08/09/2008, -0/+2Minarchian nailed it. The only reason there isn't more justice occurring is ill informed jurors.
Once people realize that jurors and Grand Jurors are the 4th branch of government and the MOST powerful branch of government, we can turn this ship around.
- AeroMerde, on 08/09/2008, -16/+7Police are busy. If you want them to investigate every single crime with forensics and lots of time, be prepared to pay more taxes for a larger and better police force.
Anarchist, that's funny. Let me know when you grow up.- Brad324, on 08/09/2008, -1/+6okay, mr. Rainbow dog with an eye-patch, he'll be sure to let you know.
- m2garand, on 08/09/2008, -0/+1You don't think breaking into someone house is worth investigating?? Next time it could end up with someone dead.
This is pretty normal, police virtually never investigate theft and they only do minimal investigations of murder. Since the government gains no money by investigating crimes like these they have no incentive to do anything. There are tons of police to hand out speeding and parking tickets though. They are just basically revenue collectors for the state.
- Mark2600, on 08/09/2008, -10/+4You're an anarchist because nobody looked into a petty theft? Anarchy was a cool concept in middle school, I agree with AeroMerde, let us know when you grow up.

- HonestAbe, on 08/09/2008, -3/+5Yeah, anarchy. That will solve everything. What could be better than corrupt police? Corrupt militias with no accountability whatsoever!
- m2garand, on 08/09/2008, -1/+3How are current police accountable?? Watch "Waco: Rules of Engagement" and then tell me how police are accountable.
- bratterscain, on 08/09/2008, -3/+4So do you think that's wrong or right the police done that? If you think it's wrong and are trying to fight against it, even verbally, then congrats, you aren't an anarchist. It happens in any society. Early on citizens may protect them and their loved ones but with complex societies where people just don't have the time and other resources to look after themselves, policing units are rendered. And I'm sure you see nothing wrong with having others protect the elderly and children who can't do it themselves, right? Well it is always bound to happen in a complex society. Now as of its effectiveness now or in certain areas, that's another topic.
- FrankHope, on 08/09/2008, -1/+10That's the reality. And if you sit in a courtroom on jury duty and see what goes on, you realize there is very little justice at that end either.

- peheimbach, on 08/09/2008, -2/+5When a Chief Executive of the country cannot respect human rights himself, but is still expected to be the EXAMPLE for not just our military but also our law enforcement, how can we expect that his philosophy -- as embodied in his "Executive Orders", signing statements and other supposedly needful circumventions of the law -- will not "trickle down" to those who depend on him for leadership.
Welcome as well, to the new Salem witch trials -- where ANY means to get you seen / associated with drugs is enough to trash you -- especially if you're a political, business, or especially religious opponent. - CoolHandLuke70, on 08/09/2008, -1/+7The police chief must have been High, Melvin High!
- MarkEarhart, on 08/09/2008, -7/+2Only a well planned, organized armed rebellion of the people with lots of prayer offers hope of restored liberty now.
- Neiby, on 08/09/2008, -1/+4I disagree with the prayer part, but you might be right about the rest.
- spkrcity, on 08/09/2008, -2/+9The general public is getting sick of pigs and their oppressive police state tactics. I became aware of this when I saw Pineapple Express the other night. I don't wanna spoil it, but there is a scene where Franco yells "***** the police!" The audience in the theater roared with approval. It was awesome.
- Mark2600, on 08/09/2008, -1/+2Okay, I saw the movie, too. If you're going to try to compare "Pineapple Express" with John Q. Public's feel on "oppressive police state tactics", you've got some serious ***** issues, pal.
- spkrcity, on 08/09/2008, -0/+1You must not have read my entire comment, or your lack the mental capacity to fully understand my point.
When hundreds of people in a movie theater clap and cheer at a character who yells "***** the police" while wielding an AK47, I think its reasonable to assume the public has had enough. - Mark2600, on 08/11/2008, -0/+1Or, hear me out, maybe the demographic that this movie is appealing to (14-30 year old stoners) happen to feel the same. That's like yelling "***** Hitler!" during Schindler's List (hyperbolic, but it serves my point). It is what it is.
- Jgal1, on 08/20/2008, -0/+0No spkrcity is right. I remember wondering as a kid why everyone had such a negative view of the police. I thought they were pretty nice and impressive when they came to my classroom with their dogs and finger ink. I just figured it was the appeal of rebellion that is transferred from teachers to cops/bosses after high school. I decided I would have faith in the police until I was given a reason not to.
Well it didn't take long for me to figure out first hand what sh*t bags they were. As a young girl being proposition by a thirty-something officer I remember wanting to rip his head off and put it on a spike in my yard as warning to all other sex offenders in uniform. I haven't met one cop since that has restored my faith, I'd sooner trust a criminal.
It's funny because I and other people I know with similar beliefs all watch cop shows. I think because the characters are usually ethical and good people. It's so far from reality, adults watch these shows looking for what they'd like to see in their own town cops.

- spkrcity, on 08/09/2008, -0/+32From the yahoo news article:
"The deputies opened fire and executed our dogs the very second they broke down our front door," Calvo, 37, said at a news conference on his front lawn Thursday. "We were harmed by the very people who took an oath to protect us."

- Napiertt, on 08/09/2008, -0/+2If they were White Labs, I'm sure they wouldn't have been shot
- VicHislop, on 08/09/2008, -0/+10They were Black Labs too! Are you kidding me? What, was SWAT afraid of being licked to death?
- Patrikc325, on 08/09/2008, -1/+15The cops that killed those dogs belong in a cell next to Michael Vick!!
- ladycj54, on 08/11/2008, -0/+0amen to that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- ladycj54, on 08/11/2008, -0/+0i whole heartedly agree!!!! i want to see those officers prosecuted!!!
- ladycj54, on 08/11/2008, -0/+0i agree, animal planet is going to have a special about michael vick,he deserves the death sentence for what he did.he only got a slap on the hand.
- Jgal1, on 08/20/2008, -0/+0Really? Do you have any more info on that? When can I look for it?
- JKap, on 08/09/2008, -6/+3Police State bloopers and practical jokes!
- UltramegaOK, on 08/09/2008, -14/+5People get more worked up over a couple dead dogs than human lives.
Over 1,000 people were killed in South Ossetia yesterday in the conflict between Russia and Georgia.
Get your priorities straight.- TheEngineer2008, on 08/09/2008, -1/+11It's not about dogs. It's about our liberty.
- bluesman3535, on 08/09/2008, -1/+5Ultra, yeah I can see your priorities are straight, going to a 3rd world totalitarian society with irrational societal comparisons to scramble for distant cover for your corrupt local States buddies. But we can always find countries with cannibals if your cheap PR tactics fail.
- Mark2600, on 08/09/2008, -1/+2Yeah, because all 1,000 people that died were militia.
Don't blame the Citizens for the Govt's policies.
- Mark2600, on 08/09/2008, -1/+2Yeah, because all 1,000 people that died were militia.
- evilWEED, on 08/09/2008, -0/+4then tell us what american citizens can do for south ossetia.
nothing in my opinion.
but if enough americans complain about brutal police, then maybe something will change... - RadioDaze, on 08/09/2008, -0/+0The point is this, there is little you can do to stop a conflict in a foreign nation, but in your own country, you at least know your rights, and have the ability to fight this sort of ***** and injustice.
THINK ABOUT IT
- Jax904, on 08/09/2008, -3/+34Police are getting a bit out of control, Of course they did nothing wrong LOL. As a African American I'm mad that this has to happen to a white privileged person to get any attention. I live in Jacksonville FL, and see the the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office (JSO) do things like this all the time, illegal searches and bad arrest. I used to be a police officer and left the force because of the corruption I saw. They smoke more weed than some of the people they arrest for possession under 20gms. What a joke such a harmless drug. Legalize it and watch crime will go down. Maybe then we can keep child molesters, murderers, & rapist in jail instead of telling us where they may be living when they get out.
- veronicaromm, on 08/09/2008, -0/+15How could the police not know, Its the Mayor? Something is seriously wrong with this picture. Police are getting more and more out of hand. Before they raid a place isnt it customary to know who lives there. This stinks of something more sinister.
- Ahnteis, on 08/09/2008, -0/+6They weren't local police.
>Before they raid a place isnt it customary to know who lives there.
That would require competence.
- Ahnteis, on 08/09/2008, -0/+6They weren't local police.
- ThinkOutTheBox, on 08/09/2008, -0/+34Yea this will really piss you guys off. He was interviewed and CNN showed the clip. He said, when they raided his house he asked for a warrant every 30 minutes and their reply was This is a No-Knock warrant. It took 3 DAYS to produce a warrant and then when he did get a copy of the warrant it wasn't even a No-knock warrant. Hows that for ***** up.
- Mojavegreen, on 08/09/2008, -1/+21I bet that if this had happened to an adverage no name person they would still be locked up charged and then imprisoned and no one would be none the wiser about this scenario.

- PopcornDave, on 08/09/2008, -0/+8Imagine if the mayor had Chihuahuas the terror those big bad cops would have felt. My god, they probably would have shot up the entire house.
Seriously, has anybody ever really seen a pet Labrador that was vicious? They're usually tamer than stuffed animals.

- RANDOM667, on 08/09/2008, -0/+8Maybe drug dealers are going to start sending drugs to government officials then report it to the police to make the government destroy itself using its own laws and police.
- ryan83189, on 08/09/2008, -1/+6I'm glad they charged the house, guns blazing, and opened fire. Those drugs could have easily taken 4 years off of his life, if he smoked them that is.
- redsoxmb545, on 08/09/2008, -1/+18Why the ***** did they have to kill the dogs?
- antechinus, on 08/09/2008, -1/+12The dogs probably failed to obey a direct order from the police officer, giving cause for them to be arrested. The policeman didn't have handcuffs suitable for the dogs so it was easier to shoot them. Pretty logical really.
- Swellin, on 08/09/2008, -1/+3One dog was shot, the other ran away from the SWAT team, and was then shot in the back, how is that for ***** up.
- DroogInPhoenix, on 08/09/2008, -0/+4Nothing more then intimidation.
- enantiodromia, on 08/09/2008, -0/+6Two reasons:

2.) When you are a presumed "bad guy", you are punished in several ways, one of them is by getting your pets killed
