- Observant1, on 11/18/2008, -3/+4no more Bush/Clinton dammit.
- BullHunter, on 11/18/2008, -3/+3Does it make sense to have someone that dislikes the President as secretary of state? I supposed not many liked Bush either...
- sheeplescareme, on 11/18/2008, -2/+3they're leaking this story just in case she isn't offered it so she can save face. let's hope she doesn't get offered it (admittedly, he could do worse. his picks thus far have not been admirable).
- RuffRidr, on 11/19/2008, -1/+1"his picks thus far have not been admirable"
Agreed. So much for getting rid of cronyism in Washington. - oldhick, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1She may not be able to take the position of Bill doesn't pass the vetting procedure.
Look at this way, they still OWE tons of money for their campaign that they have to pay back personally now that the window for raising money is over.
Bill gets paid millions to speak for foreign countries and foreign companies.
Are they going to pass up that income so someone with ZERO foreign policy experience can become Secretary of State. Doubtful.

- bernk1, on 11/19/2008, -1/+1Why would she accept an offer to become Secretary of State? Consider that a Senator has much more political power than a cabinet member. If she accepts, she resigns her Senate seat and the Governor of New York gets to appoint a replacement, until a special election takes place in 2010 (assuming that a deal isn't made to give her, or President-elect Obama, the choice in naming her replacement). Then, she serves a few months, and then the president gives her the heave-ho, leaving her out in the political wilderness, unable to organize her supporters behind Obama's back. No cabinet position, no Senate seat. It would be foolish for her to accept, IF she is offered the job.
- hiimcliff, on 11/19/2008, -3/+1I hope she doesn't accept it. Then she would be seen as rouge. Just like when she used vicious attacks against Obama in the primary. Good. I would like to see her ousted and labeled not a team player. I'd rather see Bill Richardson offered that Job anyway. After all, Carville called him a god damn Judus for backing Obama. I'm sick to my stomach of the Clintons. My support for them was hanging from a thread but the Bobby Kennedy remarks pushed me over the edge.
- stephanemot, on 11/19/2008, -2/+2Obama found the most brilliant way of claiming the Clinton heritage sans Clintons.
Everybody passed the vetting process except Hillary, because of the usual liaBillity.
Exquisite. - JackpotCity, on 11/19/2008, -1/+1I think the terms is "cutting off your nose to spite your face."
- jessicagreen, on 11/19/2008, -0/+0Hillary is going to make a decision based on 1 criteria only: will it help her become President someday?
- 7papa7, on 11/19/2008, -0/+1I would not be surprised if she leaked it with the intention of not taking it just to make BO look bad. Their was and I believe still is bad blood between them. I also think she may try to undermine him in different ways to make him look bad so she can have a better chance if she runs against him in 4 years. The Clinton's always put themselves first and Obama may soon find out that you don't mess with the Clinton's. Some who did ended up very dead. The Clinton's are not forgiving people and they get what they want one way or another.
