Register to Vote Instantly from Facebook
dailykos.com — A group of students from the University of Washington have developed a ground-breaking new tool for Facebook. The application lets people register to vote directly from Facebook. Unlike other tools, users don ’t have to print a form and mail it in. The registration process is instant, and voters receive ballots in the mail by November.

- jordans11, on 04/25/2008, -1/+2Why don't we have online registration in every state?????
- morninj, on 04/25/2008, -0/+1http://www.sos.ca.gov/executive/ivote/
Internet voting might not be feasible, but registration should be online everywhere. State lawmakers are talking about this; send them a letter! - rohan00, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0I hear they're going to have it in Oregon next cycle. And they already kind of have it in Pennsylvania, but you have to send your signature in by mail (WTF?).
- bmckib1, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0It's going to take a nationwide lobbying force to make it happen. Time for some voter coalition groups to take this up. Rock the Vote, United States Student Association, etc.
- jordans11, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0I'm in.

- broncoelway, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0Very nice idea.
- rohan00, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0Haha I like how when you try to digg before logging in, it says "Make your vote count!", bold and highlighted in yellow. Kinda seems to fit this article.
- holybjork, on 04/25/2008, -0/+3Spread the word... With an influx of unregistered voters using online registration systems in Washington and Arizona, maybe the other 48 states will realize how pointless it is, in a digital age, to only allow confusing paper forms as a method of registering voters. Digg this up!
- AutumnWindz, on 04/25/2008, -0/+1lol, Hi Chris

- frenchie123, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0I am very impressed to see that this entire operation has been run by students. This project has infinite potential and could definitely set the standard in voter registration. I am interested to see the results of the Friends Vote competition and hope that media like this will continue to pop up over the next few weeks to give these students the support they need. Bravo Washington!
- shanepete, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0Its about time! This will lead the way to allow the people of this country to register and vote with ease. Thus restoring one our basic rights. Disenfranchised voters will be no more.
- lavz, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0This is an incredible idea, and one that is inevitably going to pave the ways to changed minds and a generation that is no longer going to be willing to wait while injustice takes place. Your Revolution rocks like gravel!
- jordans11, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0I've been waiting for the Gravelanch to take over Hillary and Obama for a long time ;)
- HanFastolfe, on 04/25/2008, -2/+0Sorry people this is insane. If this were being offered by Diebold, the response would be ZOMG the AnitChirst!!!eleventy!!!. This whole "click here for democracy" is not good. I actually like the fact that the registration process is moderately byzantine. It weeds out some of those that some of you wouldn't want voting anyway. This doesn't mean that I think people should be denied, just that more needs to be done then just breathing on a mirror to see if there is steam. Registration is simply not that tough. It's harder to get a drivers license yet plenty seem to get that, and still cant drive.
- jordans11, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0I see it as making activism as easy as possible. What is digg alll about?? Instant communication and online interaction. This is the same thing except it's for a political purpose. It's peer pressure for politics, I don't see how thats a bad thing. Everyone has a right to vote, and shouldnt be slowed down be a lame process.
- rohan00, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0I dunno man. The registration process still requires you to put in your driver's license number, and you need to be able to use the intertube...
- kmsweeney78, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0the 100th dig! Its mind blowing what you are doing, making us stronger on the daily! keep up the good work;) i digg what you guys are doing!
- derrickskaug, on 04/27/2008, -0/+0if voter registration goes up...the democrats win...
I digg that.
