Rezko Connection Dogging IL Gov Blagojevich: Obama Next?

dailyherald.com — An angry Gov. Blagojevich denied he was the target of a federal corruption investigation in a contentious exchange with reporters about a convicted former top fundraiser Rezko, calling the questions "ridiculous," ''absurd" and "stupid." Testimony at trial described a favors for fundraising scheme. Rezko is also an Obama associate and fundraiser.

    "Rezko was convicted last month on charges of fraud, money laundering and aiding and abetting bribery after a trial that exposed more crooked politics in Illinois that Blagojevich says he has no part in.

    Witnesses at Rezko's trial described conversations in which Blagojevich suggested favors in exchange for contributions.

    Blagojevich has not been charged with any wrongdoing, but federal court records show he has been questioned by prosecutors multiple times...

    The Rezko case has been a nagging distraction for Blagojevich because he is often barraged by questions about the man he has called a friend and about the alleged pay-to-play schemes that emerged during the trial."

    Rezko was involved in the below market value, below market rate interest deal in which Obama bought the mansion he lives in, and also was a major Obama fundraiser. Obama's campaign grossly understated the amount of money raised by Rezko but were busted on it. Question: Why would they lie about it?

    Ah, if it would just matter. But we know the koolaid drinkers will find some excuse even if Obama was caught snorting cocaine off Scarlett Johanson's breasts (the latest rumours I am seeing headlined on the mag.s at the grocery store checkout stands)
