Sibel Edmonds Exposes Corruption in the Bush Administration
parentadvocates.org — Edmonds and the group she founded, the National Security Whistleblowers Coalition, will be coming forward with hard evidence, obtained legally from third-party sources, demonstrating that the Bush administration has used FISA warrants to engage in unauthorized surveillance of members of Congress and their staffs, and allegedly the FISA court was no

- stienster, on 07/07/2008, -1/+52Excerpt: "A low-level contractor might seem poorly positioned to expose major breaches of national security, but the FBI translators’ pool, riddled with corruption and nepotism, was key to keeping these secrets from surfacing. Edmonds’s claims that the section was infiltrated by translators who should never have received security clearances and who were deliberately failing to translate incriminating material are supported by the Justice Department inspector general investigation and by an FBI internal investigation, which concluded that she had been fired after making “valid complaints.” One translator, Melek Can Dickerson, who had worked for three Turkish front organizations under investigation—she failed to reveal this when applying for employment—allegedly stamped many documents of interest “not pertinent,” removed classified documents from FBI premises, and forged signatures on classified documents relating to 9/11 detainees. An Urdu translator was the daughter of a Pakistani Embassy employee who worked for Gen. Mahmoud Ahmad, the head of the Pakistani intelligence service who is accused of authorizing a $100,000 wire transfer to Mohammed Atta’s Dubai bank account immediately before 9/11. The Justice Department IG report confirmed Edmonds’s charge that translators’ section managers issued a go-slow order shortly after the terrorist attacks to create an artificial backlog that would justify an increase in budget and manpower. Those managers are reportedly still in place. Some have been promoted."

- borzou, on 07/07/2008, -2/+8this dispatch is a little dated, isn't it?
- yellowcakewalk, on 07/07/2008, -0/+18It is a little dated, to be sure, but with the FISA vote as early as Tuesday, it is relevant.
- allowners, on 07/07/2008, -0/+12There are almost always people who missed the news. History does not make information irrelevant, on the contrary, it adds context that allows proper judgement on important matters. This seem entirely lost on many US citizens, perhaps because their TV news consists of sound bites removed of all context, historical or otherwise. This syndrome is especially prevalent among the fans of the shouting empty-headed propaganda machines that pass as correspondents today.

- allowners, on 07/08/2008, -0/+8There is no statute of limitations on truth. There seems to be this common mythology among neocons that if the crime is not reported the instant it occurs, then it somehow magically ceases to be a crime because it's "old news." Another tired old tactic that holds zero validity and marks the annunciator as having zero credibility.

- floatingorb, on 07/07/2008, -0/+15If they hadn't fired Edmonds then perhaps we would have a better boogy-man group to believe in
than the ones calling themselves al-Qaeda -- "The Base"; Afghan vernacular for "toilet."
If the tables had been turned, and the ISS created a false flag event and had to blame it on a
Group popular with Americans, then they (after firing their top translator) may very well have
looked at our history of slang and not recognize it as such. They might notice that "john" seems quite popular and so does "cash" and thus, derive a name from that.
They undoubtedly would miss the history behind the slang (that John Crapper invented the toilet, hence our use of the term "John" for toilet.) We are all familiar with the "King Johnny" outdoor toilets seen around construction sites and sporting events but they might not have realized what the blue box was; Except that out of it pops a hero of western culture called Doctor and that it has the name *king* on it.
They might also notice that Americans love the music of Johnny Cash. They correctly infer that 'cash' means 'money' and that we consider it very important. So it naturally follows that the most recognizable, and most easy to demonize, terrorist group would be the one that calls itself the
"the Pay Toilet." - Fangsinmybeard, on 07/07/2008, -2/+9Good 'ol republicans are at it once again. Didn't learn any lessons from Nixon. Guess the next step is to find any republicans and start shootin'. What a bunch of morons.
- charlesn12, on 07/08/2008, -1/+8Hate to bust your bubble...but it is both the Democons and the Republicrats that are invovled here!!!
- kosser, on 07/08/2008, -0/+13this is so obvious. this administration has done it time and time again, do something illegal, then try to make it not illegal by ramming it through legislation.
- MarkEarhart, on 07/08/2008, -0/+12OK folks here is what we all need to do. Reformat all of this information so make it printer friendly and cheap to mass print. Make as many copies as you can afford and hand them to everyone you know. My room mate is a retired graphic designer, and was able to get it down to seven pages while keeping it readable in Office Word. Let me know if you want a copy of her formatting. I am going to print out 100 copies.
Also, we need to bombard the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. We need to sign the petition and fax, mail, and e-mail it to them. All contact information can be found here: http://oversight.house.gov/
For mail and fax (you will have to fax individual members since they don't list a fax number), it is best to hand sign the petition, while printing as much of your contact info as you wish to disclose. If you e-mail them you will have to list pretty much everything on the webform anyway. For links to the sites of members and their fax lines click on the member's name or picture. Fax numbers are usually at the bottom of their websites. Here is the DC fax for Chairman Waxman: (202) 225-4099 (fax)
Godspeed America!!! - JimSkelton, on 07/08/2008, -1/+4absolutely nothing the Bush administration comes to me a shock... How did this man survive impeachment so long.

http://jimskelton.net - reland1, on 07/08/2008, -0/+9Folks..can I give you a hint at what your congressman pays attention to? A congressman generally feels that if he/she receives ten to twenty individual phone calls, and ten to twenty individual, handwritten, letters regarding ONE issue...then, he/she perceives that the subject is of vast importance to his/her constituents. Mass petitions hardly make them break a sweat!
