Stop Big Media: Veto the FCC New Rules

secure.freepress.net — After receiving thousands of your phone calls and more than 250,000 letters, the Senate rejected the FCC's plan to let the biggest media companies get even bigger. Tell the House of Representative to take a stand and veto the FCC.

My non-rep is John Culberson who is proud to have a 0% rating from the ACLU and a 8% from the league of conservation voters., and 0% from the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Don't sit on this thinking others will get the work done. We are running out of time to convince enough representatives to fight for us against the major media conglomerates. The FCC has already caved in to them, so it's up to us and our lawmakers to put the FCC back in its place.

    The House has been pretty good about standing up to the special interests, and this time the Senate has their backs. But we need a VETO-PROOF MAJORITY!!!!

If one giant controls the press and one president controls that giant ( more likely the other way around actually ) American's will only be spoon fed propaganda.
    • Waterrat, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1Agreed...I saw an interesting talk on C Span,I forget now who was the speaker,but he said that this media control plan was started 30 years ago by those in power and they have gradually made changes which put us where we are today...This was no accident people, they really worked hard to get to this point! Oh,and you can bet your bottom dollar they will work really hard to keep things as they are...It's all about power and control.

      BUT
      .. it's not ok for just 4 or 5 mega corporations to control the majority of those. That's where we are today with just a small number of corporations owning the vast majority of news outlets (TV, print, radio) across the country.
