blog.wired.com — The House has just caved to the telecoms and the Republicans. They are granting immunity for big Telecoms who broke the law. If anyone can save our Fourth Amendment rights it is Mr. Obama. Where are you Obama?

Young (FL) - igorthetroll, on 06/20/2008, -0/+3Man this is a Sell out of American people! Where is Freedom of Speech? Where is Liberty? Where is the constitution and the Bill of Rights? The Democratically controlled housed passed this bill. Obama cannot do *****. Everybody is FF.
"The Democratic-controlled House of Representatives quickly passed a bill Friday that will expand the government's ability to install blanket wiretaps inside the United States. It will also put an end to the lawsuits filed against the nation's telecoms for helping the government spy on Americans without getting the necessary court orders." - sultanica, on 06/20/2008, -0/+1also on a side note, 60% of public funded projects (roads, water, power, etc) have been sold to foreign interests since 1990...
- kgibby, on 06/20/2008, -0/+1My representative voted Nay, very cool. Unfortunately it doesn't mean a damn thing because all of his peers passed the ***** bill. My vote cannot affect them in anyway, so what the hell can I do?!? It's up to those whose reps passed this bill to do something.
Please do something - fanclerks, on 06/20/2008, -0/+2Reading this article just makes me more and more upset at this government. It basically shows that corporations can do whatever they want without worries of repercussions. This government is officially no longer "by the people, for the people", it's now "buy the people, for the corporations". The sad part is this was done by a Democratic Congress!! I really wonder if it's even worth the effort anymore to try and improve this country. It's not like anything we do seems to help or cause any change for the good.
- igorthetroll, on 06/20/2008, -0/+0Are you scared of the USA government? You will be, watch the video!
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ClxR-8VLxD8 - trevor_25, on 06/21/2008, -0/+1And here we thought we lived in the land of the free. All this bill does is further reduce our ability to live a life free from government intrusion into our daily lives. Its akin to the war on drugs, no matter what the government does it only harms the people they claim to be protecting.
- UncleKennybobs, on 06/22/2008, -0/+0America needs to divide by zero.
If this is happening over there, it will soon happen over here (UK). Of course, it has already started and we're going exactly same way with this Orwellian NIGHTMARE.
