- CiscoNoShut, on 10/12/2007, -15/+2these women should be used as mine detectors in Iraq. They got caught talking trash to suck up to another country crowd, no sympathy here. The two sisters should have dumped the lead 'ho a long time ago.

Yeah let's blow them up for practicing freedom of speech. You're such a great American. - matrox212, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9@CiscoNoShut
That sounds like something Saddam would do.

- crosenblum, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3NBC is a business, they can make any choice they like.
Not that I agree with the Dixie Chicks, but they are entitled to spend their money and time any way they like, as long as it's legal.
I disagree with them politically, love their music.....
Civil people can disagree with each other and remain friends...
I don't hate them, prolly never will.
I think they have no clue politically, but that's my opinion. And we're both free to express ours.
However Freedom of Speech does not mean, that i can force media's to carry it.
I am sure some media outlet, tv, radio, will accept money to broadcast their ad. And they have a right to do that.
You do have the right to disagree with me, as I do with you...
I prefer to be civil about it.
Do you?- yugandhar, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1cross posting here as its a reply to crosenblum's post. sorry.

crosenblum: nbc is a business, i agree. its not just any business, its media using public airwaves. it is not entitled to do anything it likes. for e.g: it cannot promote a political party, just because its a business and they have a freedom of doing it. they dont.
the best argument i can find, for why its WRONG is given by G Greenwald here http://glenngreenwald.blogspot.com/2006/10/networks-refusal-to-accept-ads-for.html please take your time and come to your conclusions.
did you see the ad? can you comment on why it should be blacklisted?? other than its their own *%&$ing business?
- simplicio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10There goes that "liberal media" again!
- notmart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Wow, there are people on digg saying these women should be used as mine detectors because of what they said - the violence and the callousness of the right wing astounds me.

Now really, what separates NBC from the Soviet Union's Pravda anymore? Do you think they would be just as deferential to a Democratic President? Oh, wait, that's right -- they had no trouble airing critical ads and programs of President Clinton when he was in office.
This isn't about 'freedom of speech' -- its about censorship, plain and simple. NBC is proving itself a right-wing mouthpiece and should be sued up the yin-yang.
