The Man Banned By Digg
nationalexpositor.com — Dale Williams interviews Mike Rivero, webmaster of WhatReallyHappened.com. Most of the content on Mike's site has been banned by Digg. Why the censorship? Find out with this in-depth interview. H.R. 1955 - the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007 and the Truth and Freedom movement are the topics discussed.
- 143 diggs
- digg it
- andj, on 04/12/2008, -1/+21why why why??
- NeoConSlayer, on 04/12/2008, -2/+34Submitted 12 hr 36 min ago, 27 Diggs and ALREADY we have the infamous "Warning: The Content in this Article May be Inaccurate". THAT alone speaks volumes!
- lhbaker, on 04/12/2008, -3/+28That warning tag is probably the most ***** policy ever implemented on Digg. It's like a special sort of signal for righties to gang up and bury the thing.
- youtellme8, on 04/12/2008, -2/+28The entire democratic concept of Digg won't work if there is censorship of any sort. I'm very disappointed.
- Tatonka322, on 04/12/2008, -0/+20I love it when a video of someone doing something gets the Warning label as well...
I agree, that this whole content may be inaccurate tag is an overt form of censorship. DIGG would gain more credibility if they got rid of it.
Anyways that is why there's a comment section for every article, so people can debate the subject in a public forum and come to their own conclusions. - nymphetamine, on 04/12/2008, -19/+3I see that this is a tin foil hat only thread. Can anyone lend me one?
"Now Digg has tagged this story as inacurate to bury it"
By the way, this is how digg works: if someone likes a story, they digg it. If they don't, they might bury it. And if they smell *****, they might bury it as Inaccurate. Conspiracy crazies make me LOL!- NatnlExpositor, on 04/12/2008, -1/+11I heard you call in to the show the other day nymphetamine. You got smacked bubba! http://www.nationalexpositor.com/News/1163.html
- RomanThommassen, on 04/12/2008, -1/+20THE DIGG MODERATORS WILL DO EVERYTHING TO NOT GET THIS ON THE FRONTPAGE !!!
- darthchaosrspw, on 04/13/2008, -0/+3In Soviet Russia, Digg buries you. Salyut Comrade Rose and Comrade Albrecht. Ah chatoetah. :)
- darthchaosrspw, on 04/13/2008, -0/+2I mean Cha-tu-a-tah. :)
- MarkusGarvey, on 04/14/2008, -0/+1thats's what im talkin bout *darthchaosrspw ..you are the WINNER!!!.....
- darthchaosrspw, on 04/13/2008, -0/+3In Soviet Russia, Digg buries you. Salyut Comrade Rose and Comrade Albrecht. Ah chatoetah. :)
- opie999, on 04/12/2008, -0/+16If it's inaccurate then all the more reason to shine the laser bright light of public scrutiny on it. A lie will wither and die. The truth will survive and thrive. What is DIGG afraid of? Censorship casts suspicions on the censor.
- DrediKnight, on 04/13/2008, -0/+15So how is this inaccurate and which users reported that? How do I tag articles as inaccurate?
- aben9woaha, on 04/13/2008, -0/+13I've personally had the experience of WRH being blocked. So what is inaccurate in the story?
- darsie, on 04/13/2008, -1/+13"Warning: The Content in this Article May be Inaccurate" is a smear tactic by Digg to seriously discredit articles they deem as being unfavourable for whatever reason - namely those submitted by the alternative media and the truth movement.
- darthchaosrspw, on 04/13/2008, -1/+5Unfavorable to their corporate lords and masters, you mean. :)
- bigbadugly, on 04/13/2008, -1/+14"Warning: The Content in this Article May be Inaccurate" has about as much truth in it as "You May Already Be a Winner."
- GrandmaSheila, on 04/14/2008, -1/+6Digg it up!
- JustinNonymous1, on 04/14/2008, -2/+4Is Digg is counting the diggs accurately? How do you know?
- dotlizard, on 04/14/2008, -1/+2you don't! they weight buries higher than up diggs, and buries are kept anonymous. unless the bury recorder catches them, there is no way to look at a digg count on a story and verify it against the list of who dugg and who buried.
- MarkusGarvey, on 04/14/2008, -1/+5i never pay attention to it....i decide for myself if it is accurate or not....thats what the comment section is for...Digg should Knock this warning BS off...
- dotlizard, on 04/14/2008, -1/+6every time you digg something up, your name is displayed. when you bury something, you do so in total anonymity. also, buries carry more weight in the algorithm. so the votes with the most power are the ones we never see. a system like this is ideal for abuse - either from the admin side or from the users.
- carguy25, on 04/14/2008, -0/+3Digg-ed
- HeDiggMe, on 04/14/2008, -1/+1Some people would get pissed or frustrated, but there's no problem with digg banning anyone for any reason they feel. It would be different if, say, a government were telling a newspaper what not to publish.
- cdwitmer, on 04/14/2008, -1/+4Warning: The people labeling this story as inaccurate may be full of sheet.
- GreenvilleRoad, on 04/14/2008, -0/+2Why are we using digg ?
- tweetsa, on 04/14/2008, -2/+0digg can ban and censor whoever the ***** they want assholes
- char74, on 04/14/2008, -0/+1censorship in any form is wrong, especially in a site that claims to promote the free exchange of ideas and links, moderated by "the public." digg is just as bought-and-sold as most major media in the US - they are just WAY cheaper to buy.
- VcrMan, on 04/14/2008, -0/+2Who are these "readers" that have reported this story as inaccurate? Digg REALLY needs to start showing who votes to bury stories and, if they're going to continue using the "inaccurate" flag, identify the contentious content. Inaccurate != disagreement...
