- unicornbeauty67, on 10/12/2007, -3/+80It's always refreshing when members of the Republican party remind us that adults having sex is bad but adult Republicans molesting children is "Simply Naughty Emails."
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Amen to that.
- diggnate, on 10/12/2007, -39/+11If you watch the video, his point is accurate. No one was molested (not that we know of), and they were indeed naughty emails. What's the beef?
That said, they were sickening, and no one, certainly no member of congress, should be involved in such a thing. He resigned, as he should have, and is being investigated. But, trying to spread the mud to Snow, and consequently to the President and other republican members of congress, is just ridiculous. - crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22You can molest someone mentally.
- xGORDOx, on 10/12/2007, -32/+4Yes, the guy should resign, but get the facts right, no one was molested.
- durazine, on 10/12/2007, -9/+13Digg has been mentally molesting me for awhile now.
- xGORDOx, on 10/12/2007, -29/+4I love how I have a negative number and what I stated is the absolute truth.
Gotta love Digg, if it isn't far left anti-bush daily show praise, you get negative numbers. - PowerCow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8see comment above your lame comment.
- PowerCow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11and to the age of consenters, the child predator law that foley helped get passed makes it a federal crime to solicit children under 18..
you know other wise the dateline thing wouldnt be a crime. - willcode4beer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12if it was only naughty emails, then why did he (Foley) quit his job?
- catmistake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That man is a pro at spin... and he's pretty good at it, its too bad his service to the President wasn't during a better adminstration...
My fav was Ari Fleischer... that guy cracked me up... When asked where the adminsitration stood on some important current issue, Ari replied something like:
"Some of our friends are for it, and some of our friends are against it. We stand with our friends." - gcnaddict, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"Yes, the guy should resign, but get the facts right, no one was molested."
But the likelyhood exists. I don't need to read a guy discussing his sexual fantasies AS THEY OCCUR. Holy ***** dude, you really got brainwashed by the GOP big time. - dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Good ol' Tony Snow. He could spin the Republicans and Bush out of the Holocaust.
"At least it wasn't 7 million Jews!" - vinny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"I love how I have a negative number and what I stated is the absolute truth.
Gotta love Digg, if it isn't far left anti-bush daily show praise, you get negative numbers."
Um, that's not why you are being dugg down idiot. You are being dugg down because you are trying to downplay the situation. - bigturns, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Simply Naughty Emails"
WTF? An elected US Senator has engaged in criminal conduct. PERIOD!
No spin allowed. The fact that Foley resigned suggests the fallout has just begun.
Before this is over every Evangelical Republican on Digg will be eating an ass-full of crow.
- bluedigg, on 10/12/2007, -6/+30"other scandals"? Can these guys not get through lunchtime without finding some way to refer back to the 'bad old days' of the Clinton administration, particularly when in need of excusing their own incompetent and/or amoral act du jour?
- diggnate, on 10/12/2007, -15/+1parallels are a bitch, aren't they?
- vinny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"parallels are a bitch, aren't they?"
I don't get your point. Do you have a point? Are you excusing this guys alleged behavior? - Dgen_X, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"parallels are a bitch, aren't they?"
yes because I too think that pursuing an underage boy is pretty much the same as have a consenting adult woman go down on you...
exactly just as bad... - bigturns, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"parallels are a bitch, aren't they?"
The Evangelical Repugnican's, in this thread, kill me.
Let's compare these supposed 'parallels'.
1) President Clinton received oral sex from a consenting adult - poor judgment but not illegal.
2) Senator Foley solicited sex with a minor - illegal, illegal, illegal and criminal – Foley is going to jail.
I'm no legal expert, but on the 'surface' there's nothing here to compare. No one is trying to exonerate President Clinton. The issue at hand is a US Senator solicited sex with a minor. Illegal behavior no matter which side of the isle you side with.
- hawkeye17, on 10/12/2007, -3/+54If Foley was a Democrat, he would have crucified him. Since he's a Republican, Snow feels it's ok to poo-poo the actions of a Child Predator. That show's you all you need to know about the current Republicans...they only care about benefiting themselves. They allowed a known predator of children in their midst to keep on committing crimes against minors because Foley's congressional seat was more important to them than protecting these kids. The Republicans that knew about this are now revealed as immoral hypocrites.
- xGORDOx, on 10/12/2007, -20/+3If he was a Dem, the MSM wouldn't even report it.
- StackOberon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13You mean like they didn't report on Clinton (a Democrat) & Monica Lewinksi?
- PowerCow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9you need to quit with the liberal bias of the media crap...
first we dont want ever news station to tout the admin lines like fox.
second nobody is buying that crap anymore
IT is and always have been the CORPORATE MEDIA with corporate interests and not political ones.
If they were the liberal media, newsweek wouldnt have change the cover of newsweek only for americna.
the nyt wouldnt have sat on the nsa spying scandel until after the election
the media would actually show up to war protests
we would have never heard about william jeffereson
and with the shear power of the media, Bush's numbers would be far far far lower. - dvfreelancer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5"The Republicans that knew about this are now revealed as immoral hypocrites."
They were revealed as immoral hypocrites way before Foley started dreaming of groping little boys. This is just the latest and most ghastly example.
Yet they seem almost zen like in their calm. As if they already knew the election results were going to be in their favor. Apparently Diebold has some last minute updates ready to go out again this year.
- appleann1, on 10/12/2007, -34/+7It's also refreshing when the Democratic party, who are morally bankrupt, and think anything goes, get bent out of shape when it's a Republican. If this was a Dem it would have been considered their personal buisness. Case in point Rep Gerry Studds D, MA.
- b0wl0fud0n, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15It's a little different in the Studds case because it was a consensual relationship rather than harrassment.
- roaddc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10
So since the Dems are morally bankrupt too, nobody should pursue an investigation on Foley? - Alphabet, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30@apple
no one ***** cares about something that happened 23 years ago, and even if a democrat had an underage sex scandal today, I would want him out of office too. AND HEY, guess what, 23 years ago, a republican was also charged with it too.
I hate how conservatives think they can get a "get out of jail free" card because some predecessor did the same thing. HEY GUYS, george washington had slaves, so if I have a slave, it's ok too. GET OVER IT. If something is wrong, then it's wrong. The fact that you're trying to defend a child predator just goes to show how "moral" you really are. - urbandistrict, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Very well said Mr. Alphabet (tip of the hat)
I have to agree, rather than pledging allegiance to a particular side of the proverbial fence and making really outrageous counter-arguments to defend his actions we really should look at the actual situation without bias. Wrong is wrong no matter who or what you are. This really should be a bi-partisan crucifixion if we only practiced what we preached. But why would lawmakers and lobbyists live within the confines of their own words? That's crazy-talk. - UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6"Case in point Rep Gerry Studds D, MA."
You're quick to mention Studds but there was another congressman involved in the "Page Sex Scandal" that unfolded in 1983. I'm sure you would say his name if he was a Democrat... but he wasn't. - millixaw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Republicans are morally bankrupt too. However, they are trying to re-define "morals" so it makes it seem like they're not.
- vinny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2And this matters why? How does anything the Democrats did or didn't do have any relavence in our reaction to these allegations?
- xtardox, on 10/12/2007, -16/+6Frankly, I think that this is coming out way too close to an election, which is dirty politics.
I just hope to god nobody withheld this bombshell just to gather more votes while this guy was capable of doing more creepy things.
So there is some possible, if not damnable shame for the lefty's
As for the righty's it appears there is already reports of GOP knowledge of such emails, which is just freaking awful. With that said I think that the state of our country really isn’t about who has what morals, but who can exploit the morals of the people for votes.
If somebody with a spine could just confront all these hypocrites, from either of the major parties and stand up for just "doing what they actually feel is right", then we might be better off. Until then its all about who is is the highest bidder, and who gets the most media coverage.
Come to think of it, if people from other countries were lied to and talked down to in such a way that their goverment would twist people' words so far to label them " non-patriotic", then those people would have revolted by now. Until then, we are just lazy Americans- DSPGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't think this was politically motivated, or else the Dems would've brought it out before the "Bush Get Out Of Jail Free" bills passed through the House & Senate. This one had been festering for years.
- vinny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I love how you try to spin this to fault the Democrats. Have you forgotten that Republicans control Congress? Are you not aware that there are allegations that many republicans knew about this for a long time? But, somehow, this is the Democrats being slimey for not outing this guy. Amazing how your mind works, truely.
- bigturns, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Politically motivated or not - the man, US Senator Foley, solicited sex with a minor. Would you prefer to keep your head in the sand until after the election?
I'm guessing, given your party loyalty, your answer is as follows...
"I don't remember ever having my head in the sand and or being told it was"...
- flamingmb, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17is it just me or had no one heard of "congressional pages" before this ***** went down.
- 5555, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17They're news to me, but now they're the new altar boys.
- ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wonder if they'll just send Foley off to a different state to run for office.
- growler1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27Honestly folks, are we really going to play 'blame the Democrats' for the GOP suppressing evidence about one of their own's pedophilia in order to keep his seat?
Truly, I don't think all Democrats are exemplary in their moral upright-ness, nor do I think all Republicans are bad. I do believe that partisan warfare is hurting America, but you need to stop and think about this Foley issue.
Stop saying "But if this were Democrats!" or "But Bill Clinton!" or "But the libs are morally bankrupt!" and really see this situation for what it is.
Breathe. Admit you support people of dubious character. Be honest with yourself about what you value, and REMEMBER what you stand for when next you caste your vote.
How many of you would answer to the affirmative that you support keeping a pedophile in power long enough to win an election, or that you think the president has the right to ignore the judicial system and disregard key portions of the constitution in pursuit of his own ends?
This is me, humbly begging you to stop and think for a moment.- Patented, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Thank you growler.
If this guy was a garbage man, would people blame Waste Management? - monkeywizard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Exactly.
It's not about "the left" or the "radical right" - it's about those who have been bought out and who haven't.
People who support Bush (and all members of the GOP regardless of what they do) will lash out and call anyone who disagrees with them "liberal" or "the left", but in reality it's people who can THINK.
Not all republicans are bad, and not all democrats are angels. Keep in mind all the ***** democrats have done (Tipper Gore is responsible for the 'Parental Advisory' stickers that you see), but also keep in mind it's not about party affiliation, but CORRUPT policitians who are running the show. Corrupt being, those politicians who honestly don't care about the citizens, but easily bow to the mighty dollar given to them by those lobbying to get certain laws/bills passed (which is a good majority of politicians - most just happen to be GOP at the moment since they pretty much run congress).
This Foley character is a prime example amongst many - Bush being another, and his being President doesn't make it any more acceptable.
- Patented, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Thank you growler.
- CARPEDATAM, on 10/12/2007, -26/+0So... Clinton has sex with an intern and he stays in office while Foley emails a former page and he immediately resigns?????? If he has committed a crime, so be it. So far it sounds like email... versus humidor.
- xlocust, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25Clinton had sex with a consenting ADULT...
- diggnate, on 10/12/2007, -18/+2I'm pretty sure that Paula Jones didn't consent to being sexually harassed. Monica Lewinsky wasn't the only woman that Clinton was suspected to be involved with.
- pksynths, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Didnt the Republicans do everything in their power to impeach Clinton??? Clinton gets some head he is put though hell. Bush starts a ***** war, spies on his own people and ***** all over our contsitution and nothing. Where's the justice in that?
- vinny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4He resigned! You can't blame Democrats or Clinton (again) for what this guy did! Get a ***** clue you idiot. I'm getting sick of this *****.
- bigturns, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It wasn't just email. It is a history of inappropriate behavior between a US Senator and underage boys. It is sexually explicit IM exchanges between a US Senator and underage boys. It isn't just email. It's illegal behavior being perpetrated by a US Senator.
With the way these Evangelical Republicans behave, on these threads, you think there was candy up their ass!
- spurtle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Isn't solicitating a minor a crime?
- diggnate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Coming from a republican, yes it is, and for the sake of all underage potential victims, the Congressman should be punished.
- charged2885, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10according to the dateline series to catch a predator, it is.
- purplegrog, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Maybe. how does one solicitate a minor though?
- keitho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@purplegrog,
used to be you built a "ranch" in california...
- diggnate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Coming from a republican, yes it is, and for the sake of all underage potential victims, the Congressman should be punished.
- CARPEDATAM, on 10/12/2007, -18/+1Maybe so. SO he should resign. Good pt. The emails I saw on the news weren't direct solicitation in my opinion. Versus stained blouses.
- keitho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7he asked for a picture of the kid. they had previously met so its not like he was trying to put a face with the name. its the same steps the perverts in the aol chatrooms do and its disgusting.
- NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Hey CARPEDATAM, maybe you should sieze some information yourself...
Monica was a consenting adult. The crime in Clinton's case was perjury.
- kipperBugg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9What a bunch of freaks and losers running this county into the ground
- monkeywizard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What's funny is how Tony Snow is a ***** robot. Months ago he was bashing Bush, now he's kissing Republican ass.
http://thinkprogress.org/2006/04/25/snow-on-bush/
Goes to show that politicians will say or do just about anything and later change their mind... and their peers will too.
Anyone else find this odd? Things aren't as they seem...- DAaaMan64, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1uhmmm he works for the whitehouse, he can't be bashing it too much there monkey man.
- monkeywizard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1...did you even read the link?
He said all this ***** then they appointed him as press secretary.
Now he has changed his mind about everything he said previously. - DAaaMan64, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's what I am saying as the press secretary it is his JOB to defend the white houses position regardless of his personal opinion.
What your saying is why would he take the job if he didn't like Bush, right? Well I'm sure as a radio voice he would love to try such an influential job regardless of whether he has to follow some rules.
- pintomp3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9but but... he's a nice pedophile. when will he get his medal from bush?
- FlaG8r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hastert and Boehner will each get one for their fine work on this matter for sure.
- Obvioustroll, on 10/12/2007, -11/+3Okay, I'm going to try this one more time:
The IMs are supposedly from 2003. the emails from 2005. They aren't even to the same kid.
http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/10/02/foley.timeline/
In addition, you must be 16 years old to become a page:
http://ask.yahoo.com/20020627.html
Therefore, Foley might be gay, and he might be a sexual harasser, but there's no way in hell Foley is a pedophile or could have been harassing the kid before he was 16, because he had to be 16 before he met Foley.
What's really amazing is the willingness of the left to gay-bash in the name of scoring political points. So much for civil rights!- avidlinuxuser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Soliciting a minor(under 18) is illegal by federal law.
- Obvioustroll, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1In which IM or email does Foley say, "hey, why don't you come over here and sit on my tent pole?"
- willcode4beer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"What's really amazing is the willingness of the left to gay-bash in the name of scoring political points"
Damn, I never knew Karl Rove and George Bush were leftists. Thanks for pointing that out. - PowerCow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8do i make you horny
what are you wearing
etc
are solicitation.
they dont have to say, can i shove my tallywacker up your cornhole. - monkeywizard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"What's really amazing is the willingness of the left to gay-bash in the name of scoring political points."
What's really amazing is how ignorant the "right" is by calling everyone who is against their arrogant and radical behavior "the left".
Just goes to show their narrow minded way of thinking.
If he wants to be gay, fine. If he wants a hot young man, fine, but make sure he's 18. You're tellin me he couldn't have processed that logic? "Hey, I'm one that people look up to, I should probably at least attempt to not make myself look bad by talking to a 16 yeas old male."
He's a prime example of the hypocrisy that's running this country. Allll for laws to protect minors from "sexual predators" online when he's throwing himself at a 16 year old boy. Techinicalities aside of whether 16 is the age consent, it's more than whether what he did was legally okay, but moreso pointing out that he doesn't even believe in legislation he's supporting, and therefore does not represent the people who voted for him. - FlaG8r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It doesn't really matter what the the left or right do or say. This is the last straw for moderates who were already turning on the Republicans and there will be a price paid next month.
- bigturns, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"What's really amazing is the willingness of the left to gay-bash in the name of scoring political points"
Wait, willcode4beer, who said the left is gay bashing? Oh, right, the Evangelical Republicans did in their talking points memo shared with the Evangelical Right during one of the many zany comedic episodes of FAUX news.
No one is bashing gays. Homosexuality is only a crime on YOUR side of the isle. We don't bash gays on the left. We bash pedophiles like your, now former, US Senator Foley. Pedophile: as in this case, an adult US Senator soliciting sex with an underage boy.
- thelonegunman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4in honour of the neocon trolls who flag as "possibly inaccurate" anything even remotely critical or negative of the rovians, i think we should say that anything that comes out of tony snow's mouth is "possibly inaccurate".
- DocDEB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"...i think we should say that anything that comes out of tony snow's mouth is "possibly inaccurate"."
Isn't that a given?
- DocDEB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"...i think we should say that anything that comes out of tony snow's mouth is "possibly inaccurate"."
- PowerCow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5OK seriously folks this really wouldnt be a partisan issue if the GOP would quit trying to defend this guy. You pedo appologists make me ill.
They shouldnt fight the investigations, they should demand them even louder than the dems. They should reaffirm they are the party of ethics and what ever punishment the dems want for theis guy they should demand a harsher one, Rove must be sick, because these people are really screwing up by either lessoning his crimes, or saying the dems have done it.. IF you are the party of ethics, you dont come out with a whimper on this crap, you come down on foley like the hand of god. You meantion casteration. YOU DONT SAY, it was just naughty emails.
You know there are many parrents watching this crap with complete and utter discuss... ANd as for when they asked him to stop a year ago.... WTF can you tell me WTF was allowed to stay on the comititee for missing and exploited children. It may have seemed like ti was no big deal, but you dont take chances with a commitee like that. You know if a baby sitter asked for picks of my kid, i wouldnt blow it off and give them a second cahnce even if it was innocent. When it comes to my kids, there is no 3 strikes you are out- Obvioustroll, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1I find it interesting that you think a man is guilty because of anonymously made accusations, and that presuming his innocence until proof is provided, or pointing out inconsistencies in the accusations, makes you a "pedo apologist".
I look forward to your support for lynching other gay men the next time the Republicans announce another "defense of marriage"
I also suggest you look up the definition of "pedophilia" because you clearly don't know what it means. - monkeywizard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@troll
I find it interesting that despite this man being in the wrong not only morally, but in terms of being an obvious hypocrite, people are brainwashed enough to keep supporting this man simply because they're GOP.
Way to go, braindead voter citizens of the USA.
(Of course, I know your posts are just meant as 100% trolling for fun, but there are idiots out there who would actually believe and agree with what you're saying ;) - keitho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@Obvioustroll
quitting right after the revelation instead of going out and saying "its not true" makes him guilty in the court of public opinion. - PowerCow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I took your suggestion
ped·o·phil·i·a: (n)
The act or fantasy on the part of an adult of engaging in sexual activity with a child or children.
tellme how asking if a kid has masterbated yet and if he is horney and what he is wearing isnt "sexual fantacy" and it isnt anonymous, plus we have the pms and emails, plus the guy immediately quit rathr than trying to defend himself, plus other people saying this has been going on for a long time.
16 is still a kid and there are laws against soliciting under 18 on the net. SO explain how i dont understand the meaning? The guy is a sick pedo bastard, it doesnt matter if he had sex with the kid.
I hope you amount the same stringent defence when it is a dem. Hell Clinton was guilty of wag the dog with zero evidence.
The shear fact, wheather innocent or guilty he should have been removed from the comitee for exploited children, at the second there was any suspcions somethign weird was going on. You just dont take chances like that.. and if he gets clears just explain we are doing our job protecting our kids - Obvioustroll, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2@monkeywizard,
and I'm amazed that you think that defending a man from a lynch mob makes you a republican, or that saying lusting after 16 year olds is not the same as pedophilia makes you Gingrich's love toy.
I haven't voted for a Republican in the White House since before Clinton was elected. I can't remember the last time I voted "party line" on anything. Like most Americans, I'm an independent.
@powercow,
I wonder how old you are, that you think lusting after a high school senior is the same as lusting after a child. By your standards, most men are automatically guilty of pedophilia.
@keitho,
you're quite right - the most damning piece of evidence against him is the way he instantly resigned and that, actually, is quite surprising since other men accused of diddling pages - even other gay men - have survived and been re-elected.
That's the thing that blows me away. When Gingrich hauled Studds before Congress for having an active sexual relationship with a page, Studds sneered, jeered, and was re-elected 4 or 5 more times. And Studds was guilty of a lot more than just naughty messages, while Gingrich was blasted for being a raving homophobe.
Now, the same people who claim to support gay rights are denouncing a man as a "pedophile" for merely wishing he could do what Studds did. And I, apparently am a raving Republican for pointing this out.
- Obvioustroll, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1I find it interesting that you think a man is guilty because of anonymously made accusations, and that presuming his innocence until proof is provided, or pointing out inconsistencies in the accusations, makes you a "pedo apologist".
- DocDEB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I never cease to be amazed by the apologists for anything Republican. Mr. Foley sends lurid IMs and emails to minor boys and now the Republican Apologists are worried about gay bashing? WTF! The Republican leadership knows about Mr. Foley's activities and does nothing... for three years. The RAs say, "Well they had no evidence." The leadership has already said they had the IMs. WTF! Tony Snowjob says they were just naughty emails [and couldn't possibly be predatory]. Tony better read the federal law on this one (presuming he can read and understand big words). Then of course there is always the "Clinton did it too" argument, ignoring the fact that Monica was a consenting (and ladder climbing) adult. WTF! Last but not least there is the "Well this kind of thing has gone on before and they were Dems" argument. WTF!
Seems to me the RA know they are in some deep doo doo on this one and are desperately grasping for some strawmen. - UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@gcnaddict
It's unfair to say there is a likelyhood he molested anyone based just on the evidence that he had sexual conversations with the kid.
But there are some IMs where he did refer to something which occurred in San Diego but whatever that was has yet to be revealed. - reallydigginit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2How can we trust the GOP to protect this nation when they cannot even protect summer interns on Capitol Hill?
WEAK PARTY - labeltz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Simply naughty emails"... Tony Snow has a son and two daughters. Would he just ignore the screen and say "its just a naughty email son..." if that happened to him? Snow needs more perspective on the situation.
- kingygk, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1If this were such a big deal why wait until 6 weeks before an election. This should have been dealt with in April when it was known last year. This was brought out in a pathetic attempt by the Democrats to gain control of congress. Where was this kind of outrage when Rep Patrick Kennedy, a democrat got away with a DUI? and with William Jefferson, a democrat got caught accepting bribes by the FBI. I am sick of this Republican Double standards crap!!
- steinbeckgirl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4kingygk-Tell your Republican congress that they should have came out with it in April since they were aware of the situation. Pathetic attempt by Democrats? No Democrat made him become a pervert for young underage boys! Also, nobody is saying that Patrick Kennedy didn't have a problem, drunk driving is bad. Trying to beat off to underage pages is just ***** disgusting, especially someone who was involved with The Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges.
- DocDEB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Get the facts straight. The Democratic members of the ethics committee were kept in the dark on this one. So it sure looks like the Republicans who have been in the majority the entire time that this ***** was brewing have no one but themselves to blame this one on. I'm sure they will do their best to do it... must have been a terrorist plot... ya! that's the ticket... those terrorists will be useful again.
- kingygk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1@stienbeckgirl dude Patrick kennedy is a disgrace to congress. He was protected by the DC police because he was a drunk and a kennedy. You miss my point. He shoud have resigned. If this were you or me we would have been locked up in jail and our lives ruined. Yet Patrick doesnt even have to get tested and is driven home by the police. He is a discrace to Rhode Island. He should have kept his mouth shut when commenting on Rep Foley since he is an recovering addict and also been to rehab himself. He was also on ambien an anti depression pills while drinking. Patrick Kennedy and William Jefferson are the biggest hippocrites in congress. Both have been caught doing something bad but still get to serve because they are democrats. Democrats suck.
Here is Patricks shameful past

And William Jeffersons Stellar record yet he still serves in congress.
http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/05/15/jefferson.bribery/ - kingygk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1@stienbeckgirl I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem with it if Rep Foley were a Democrat :) It would be excused away as harmless emails.
- steinbeckgirl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1kingygk- Speak for yourself. I'd have a problem whoever it was, his party affiliation has nothing to do with it. As a parent, and a human being, it is disgusting. I would hope you would agree. You can't justify it because of Patrick Kennedy no matter how you spin it. Don't put words in my mouth because I never said if he was a Democrat that that would make it better....speak for yourself, not me.
- AmericanWay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It must be a terrible burden to be Chief Liar to the P-resident. The job wore out that slimy Texas Jewish guy, Ari Fleischer. But Tony Snow must have checked his soul at Fox News. He seems to be enjoying making up lies and obfuscations.
- kingygk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Why is it ok for Democrats to commit crimes and not have to resign? If you are Republican it is a scandal. Some one explain this.
