- mpobri, on 10/07/2008, -8/+2I'm voting for Obama, 98% of the reason is his economic policy. But I'm terrified he won't be able to control the democratic house and senate, and will be signing pork and useless spending into law.
I'm not advocating wealth redistribution, but the concentration of wealth in the top 2% earners is happening because of Bush's failed economic policies. If congress takes from the rich and creates useless programs, we're all doomed.- rpfinley, on 10/07/2008, -1/+11I find it hilarious that people think economic policies begin and end with the presidency and that there is no lag. The Clinton policies created the dot com bubble and destruction that followed.
- mpobri, on 10/08/2008, -3/+1Who thinks that? The author of this article? Clearly not since it states how Clinton promised cuts and Congress didn't follow through.
Clearly my comment doesn't state that. Who are you speaking of?

- Jakeman21co, on 10/07/2008, -1/+5Did you know that the top 2% pay 60% of the taxes? that the top 20% pay 80% of the taxes. The bottom 40% pay no taxes what so ever (except Social Security and Medicare).
- mpobri, on 10/08/2008, -2/+1Yes, I did know that. And that top 2% are wealthier than ever and able to pay more without sacrificing their lifestyle.
- cerajim, on 10/07/2008, -1/+3NO! The concentration of wealth in the top 2% is because many people like myself got off our butts, made smart choices and worked our tails off to get there. So now I should have to bail out those who have the same opportunities and don't want to take advantage of them and make stupid decisions???? That makes a lot of sense, take from those that work for it and give it to those that don't. Get real. Not everyone made their money from golden parachutes as CEOs!
- mpobri, on 10/08/2008, -2/+1Really, so the 40% of those top 2% that inherited that wealth, they're working their butts off? Paris Hilton fan, are ye?
- cerajim, on 10/08/2008, -0/+0I couldn't care less about Paris Hilton. What does she have to do with me. So I should be penalized because she inherited her wealth, anyone who has achieved wealth is bad? Is that what you are really implying? Karl Marx fan are you?
- InRussetShadows, on 10/07/2008, -1/+5How does it hurt you or me or Sally down the street if someone else has something? Bush's failed economic policies dropped many people off the tax rolls entirely. Is that a failure? Bush's failed economic policies cut my taxes. Bush's failed economic policies led to the top 10% paying more taxes to the government than ever before -- Treasury revenue went up significantly. Why should I even have to tell you this? Are you that ignorant?
- mpobri, on 10/08/2008, -2/+1Didn't say it hurts, said it's time we bring it back to reality. It's proven enough times that tax cuts for the wealthy do not equate to economic growth.
By the way, I'm in that wealthy category, ready to pay more, haven't inherited any money.

- legolas68, on 10/07/2008, -0/+13The Democrats don't give a rip about the middle class. It is the middle class that these goons despise. They only put up the front when elections come around.
You want proof? Slick Willy. - InRussetShadows, on 10/07/2008, -0/+8The article is correct. Clinton also promised a tax cut but did not deliver. Obama is going to do the same thing. How else will he pay for that 1 trillion dollars in new spending?
- SAR2009, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1If the dhimmicraps would just shut up, they'd never have to worry about the mythical "global warming" . . . they only want two things from productive people - votes and money to support the worthless parasites which lie at the heart of their political base. Cuba will be developing NHL players on backyard ponds before these maggots lift a finger to help working Americans.
