Webb: Lieberman’s Hawkish Iran Amendment Is ‘Cheney’s Fondest Pipe Dream'
thinkprogress.org — Those who regret their vote five years ago to authorize military action in Iraq should think hard before supporting this approach. Because, in my view, it has the same potential to do harm where many are seeking to do good.

- Diigger, on 10/10/2007, -8/+10One thing is for certain Senator Lieberman's intents are malicious, his carefuly crafted Amendment puts the senator in a bind. Senator are going to have a very hard time with this amendment as the Israeli Lobby will be out in force to make sure that it passes. Senators who do not vote for the Amendment will be punished. Do you believe the Lieberman - Kyl Amendment is crafted with a backdoor for Congressional validation for military action? ----> http://www.youpolls.com/details.asp?pid=590

- dictum, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1When do these amendments pass? (assuming they do)
- davmattucci, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Joe Lieberman is a ***** who will be out on his ass at the end of his term. Voters already regret nominating him, so hopefully his legislation is laughed out of the house. Contact your local reps to make sure that happens.
- Darkside2984, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Actually, contrary to what most Diggers *want* the truth to be, Lieberman is very popular in his district. So popular in fact that he won as an independent. The Democratic party was forced to plead for his return, lest they lose their voting bloc in the House. His liberal talk combined with a toughness for foreign policy make him very popular among those who vote (i.e. people over the age of 25). Sounds a lot like another candidate...
- humanr1ghts, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0PLEASE not another war! Can't they be more intelligent?
