- 1678 diggs

- noupe, on 06/12/2008, -1/+13Very nice list list, I especially like Cuzillion :)
- AlphaR75, on 06/12/2008, -4/+14Useful info, thanks.
- frozzenst, on 06/12/2008, -2/+8Following these rules.. remember, the force will be with you, always. Nice visualization, diggboss
- hydr, on 06/12/2008, -3/+7Great article!
- LanceVance, on 06/12/2008, -2/+7That's going to help me a lot, thanks.
- Odenized, on 06/12/2008, -1/+10Bookmarked this page right away. As someone who's looking to learn more about web development, this should be the perfect primer.
- TheBSG, on 06/12/2008, -0/+5Not to double post, but see what I've said: Don't use "visual" methods, or "CSS Frameworks." They detract from the ultimate goal of standards, CSS, and xhtml themselves. Spend the time, learn the basics, and you'll find it's a lot easier than the developers of those useless web apps that are quick-starts to web design. They often end up being MORE work than the code would be, produce three times as much non-standard code, and almost always doesn't work on older machines. These are some of the basic things that I would let a new designer in on.
- socialpyramid, on 06/12/2008, -2/+12Maybe the good folk at Twitter need to check this out.
- ub3rgeek, on 06/12/2008, -0/+2Their frontend isn't their problem. They have *major* scaling issues, RoR doesn't scale.
- mikusd, on 06/12/2008, -2/+0Another reason I stick to PHP with a nice RoR style MVC framework....
called
FUSEphp.net- r3negadeX, on 08/11/2008, -0/+1Great language with a ***** framework or ***** language with a great framework? The choice is yours!
- CasaWood, on 06/12/2008, -2/+6A lot of really good information. Worth placing in my bookmarks for review for sure...
- JonnyCasino, on 06/12/2008, -1/+5These are very nice... and I especially like how the focus is OS and Technology independent. thanks!
- mtwolf, on 06/12/2008, -2/+5thank you oh great keymaster
- MtheoryX, on 06/12/2008, -0/+2Are you the keymaster? I am the gatekeeper.
- nydewow, on 06/12/2008, -1/+4Excellent piece. I'm still new to development but I was able to find some worthwhile tools to check out. Though I'll probably leave the other tools like that httperf one to you more experienced web guys... I tried reading the acedemic paper on it and I couldnt get past the first page, anyone actually understood that? :)
- CreditAllianceG, on 06/12/2008, -3/+5awesome stuff thank you
- seanberry, on 06/12/2008, -2/+9#1 on the list should have been underpaid Chinese guy.
- moblati461, on 06/12/2008, -3/+3Awesome list, I bookmarked it and will check it out later. Im currently working on a website, Want it to be working in tip top shape lol.
- Jasper710, on 06/12/2008, -2/+6The new dreamweaver will have browsers built into it so you can preview the pages live. Whatever, I make web pages so its a big deal to me....
- digjam, on 06/12/2008, -1/+5These are amazing tools, I cant even tell you how many nights I spent on debugging friggin Javascript and improving the performances, Firebug is the way to go and it still reduces the spent on debugging a simple change.
- maretten, on 06/12/2008, -10/+5HOW ABOUT RUNNING SHOES!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
sorry. i hope i die too.... - agentb111, on 06/12/2008, -2/+5yeah i can definitely vouch for FireBug, makes you deal with much less ***** when testing out problems on your page.
- jerrisrockin, on 06/12/2008, -1/+2I've done a few of these tips in the past and they certainly worked. Can't wait to try the rest, thanks!!
- SolidusShake, on 06/12/2008, -2/+1YSlow and Cuzillion work like a charm! Thanks so much =]
- TheBSG, on 06/12/2008, -1/+6Finally, a list that isn't "make CSS easier with superfluous divs!" and "Visually build HTML in longer time than it takes to just write the HTML!"
- joelf, on 06/12/2008, -5/+0The site's kind of slow.
- merreborn, on 06/12/2008, -1/+9What the hell is up with all the "Great site, I bookmarked it!" comments?
Looks like digg-for-pay spam.
Good list though. I was expecting another list of minifiers and crap. - KnightMareInc, on 06/12/2008, -0/+4firebug doesnt work for ff3 yet :(
- mikusd, on 06/12/2008, -2/+0no, but it can, GIFFS (google it for ***** sake)
- rekkon, on 06/12/2008, -0/+3I'm still waiting for firebug to work in FF3. I want a good realtime HTML editor that isn't Dreamweaver... One that previews in the browser (DW sucks for previewing - I just use it for the code suggestions)
- toml0006, on 06/12/2008, -0/+1notepad and run an apache server
- JarJar420, on 06/12/2008, -6/+016. Write yousa web page in assembly.
- toml0006, on 06/12/2008, -2/+1I can't image life without Firebug - I literally use it all day every day
- samotage, on 06/12/2008, -1/+0Great links, thanks :) Firebug rocks - king fantastic for finding a whole host of things inside one's little HTML.
- kinglenster, on 06/12/2008, -0/+1Pretty much 15 versions of the same thing. How about 15 different ways to optimise your site? (although I'm sure that has been submitted about a thousand times)
- son1k, on 06/12/2008, -0/+3I really want a program that makes it easier to work out the compatibility issues amongst different browsers and browser versions. It's really frustrating making a perfect page in one (firefox, ie7,etc) and then having it completely broken in another.
- magneteye, on 06/13/2008, -1/+2When I want to build web pages faster I just put on my clown suit and ...
"I DO COCAINE!!!!!" - bacon_skoda, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1"The goal here is to help you quickly rapidly check..."
apparently does not check grammar. - zhangyang, on 06/13/2008, -2/+0thanks ,it's really help.
- pickupman, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1For those wanting Firebug for FF3 just check out the official website for the extension
http://www.getfirebug.com/releases/
I have been using it on RC1 and now RC2. - MavRevMatt, on 06/13/2008, -1/+1His lists are almost always a good resource. This one's even better.
- trif3cta, on 06/13/2008, -2/+0Agreed, he usually brings the heat.
- willsani, on 06/13/2008, -0/+4... and yet they failed to mention http://tools.pingdom.com/
- kevinalthaus, on 06/13/2008, -1/+0This is a great list for Windows users!
- ksuralta, on 06/13/2008, -2/+1any advice for a tool to upload files to a web server? i'm currently using FileZilla which is not so good.
- Tamila, on 06/13/2008, -0/+0Very nice list - I had not heard of some fo these before. New to web development and trying to learn all I can. I used some of these on my work site http://www.idbadgecenter.com and I saw some things I never even thought to look at before. I appreciate the folks like you that try to help others by posting very good information. Thanks
- dougle, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1If you want to know what to do when these tools tell you your site is sluggish, read Steve Sauders (Yahoo) book High Performance Websites
- fbliss, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Yeah, good tools. Of course, having the right CMS can really help too. Has anyone tried http://www.typolight.org? TYPOlight is not associated with TYPO3 so don't be scared, but in terms of turning around a site it's super reliable and fast.
- starkraving, on 06/17/2008, -0/+1The title is "15 Tools to Help You Develop Faster Web Pages", not "15 Tools to Help You Develop Web Pages Faster".
- natalyz, on 06/25/2008, -0/+0Good site, not only article. strike interesting.

- trobrock, on 07/09/2008, -0/+0Very useful list, since the goal in any good page is to have a low to non-existent load time for the end-user
- , on 08/06/2008, -0/+1Great list! I fount 2 apps for my needs here. Thanks
