Simple 3d Engine in Javascript
uselesspickles.com — A proof-of-concept page shows that arbitrary triangles can be rendered using Javascript+DOM+CSS (no use of images, canvas tags, flash or java applets). What better way to celebrate the acheivement than with a rotating cube rendered in real time?

keep going! - jhurshman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is pretty impressive for a proof-of-concept. I must say, though, that as soon as I saw it, I wanted to manipulate it with the mouse (e.g., grab and rotate the cube).
Works great in Safari 2.0.4, BTW.- UselessPickles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I added some keyboard controls to interact with the cube. It's not great, but enough to see that it really is a 3D object that can be manipulated and rendered in real time.

Seems like it should be possible to implement this as an abstraction layer on top of Canvas, right?
