- MikeonTV, on 10/11/2007, -25/+92I'm sure the only thing a GIMP user would use that template for is flattening a Microsoft logo on it.
- dtd00d, on 10/10/2007, -3/+115I'd use it for printing out other crap.
- Directrix1, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5I believe this is the only setting used by the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
- over90000, on 10/10/2007, -6/+22Then why is he using Vista?
- Renton, on 10/10/2007, -5/+31It could be a Vista theme for Emerald.
- minigamer1896, on 10/10/2007, -5/+6I used GIMP before moving over to Linux myself. Tis handy using multi-platform software at times. ^_^
- bigredgpk, on 10/10/2007, -5/+5I think it would be perfect for a Yankee Logo...
- alperea, on 10/10/2007, -3/+0how about a Gimp logo on it? just because linux is bad ass doesn't mean gimp is automatically a good piece of s/w.
- dtd00d, on 10/10/2007, -3/+115I'd use it for printing out other crap.
- TopHatStuff, on 10/10/2007, -31/+8Ew, Vista :-)
But yeah, interesting option!- TheTaoOfBill, on 10/10/2007, -7/+18I gotta say the whole ew vista crowd really had me questioning vista. But now that I got my new computer with windows vista I'm so glad I went with it. It's a great operating system. I don't see what's so ew about it.
- Tenoq, on 10/10/2007, -5/+11Try setting up advanced network sharing. Try loading it on a laptop with 1GB of RAM or less. Try deleting a file and being asked 3-4 times: "Are you sure?".
There's plenty 'ew' about it, including the fact it costs a fortune. I can understand getting it pre-installed... but who on earth would upgrade their XP machine to Vista nonsense at this point in time? :P- MagicCake, on 10/10/2007, -4/+83-4 times? What the *****, dude. I get one prompt, just like XP.
- Smills, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7That is why if you have a 1gb laptop you don't install vista. On my 2 year old computer it runs lightning fast. And that is with a pathetically weak Athlon X2 3800+ cpu. The RAM is the real killer but if you have 2gb or more Vista is fine. I have fedora 7 on one computer, Vista Ultimate x64 on another, Ubuntu 7.04 on another and win XP on another. I like all of those operating systems for different reasons but I would honestly have to say that Vista is my favorite. It is just great having driver support for a 64 bit OS for once.
- chedabob, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I went from XP to Vista, and I've regretted every second of it. Windows usually takes 6 months or so to get to a point where it's broken and needs reinstalling. Vista has lasted 3 weeks.
- Fartag, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It depends what operating system you're used to and what you've learned you can do with it. I use Debian w/ KDE and it's the best fit (along w/ Kubuntu) for what I do that I've tried. Whole development environments, plentiful support programs and thousands of useful automatable programs, hotkey binds to get around extremely quickly. > 20,000 programs installed, you can find what "fits" by description and use it or the alternatives, no trialware, no viruses, no data held hostage by cost upgrade vendors that may go out of business or when better alternatives come around, nothing hidden when you dig for it. Using Vista or any of the windows line for things I do is like stepping back in time, with many of its restrictions visible after working outside of windows-only software for a while.
- Tenoq, on 10/10/2007, -5/+11Try setting up advanced network sharing. Try loading it on a laptop with 1GB of RAM or less. Try deleting a file and being asked 3-4 times: "Are you sure?".

- geekchic, on 10/10/2007, -1/+178I notice that it states that this is a US specification toilet roll.
Do domestic toilet rolls come in different sizes depending on where you live?- Error601, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Maybe they did it like the evolution of photographic film. They took the original stock, the Sears catalog page, and split it longways.
- fattyboy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15The original Reddit thread has a bit on the international standards for toilet paper sizes - http://reddit.com/info/2o7bp/comments

- InetRoadkill, on 10/11/2007, -0/+41So how do you feed the TP into the ink jet printer? Should I get the super absorbent type, quilted type, or the heavy duty stuff?
- daza, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5What about puppy-print?
- Firehed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12Considering that there actually are companies that do printed TP (for office gags and such, I suppose), that's a surprisingly valid question.
- antdude, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Didn't Epson 785 EPX have those print rollers? Can that be used?
- chedabob, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I don't think it's wide enough.
- sikosmurf, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That's what she said. .... :(

- chedabob, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I don't think it's wide enough.
- tdp301, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I would really rather try it with a dot-matrix printer than an inkjet, it would work better
- warbird, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Living in Japan, Ive noticed that the length of each sheet is about 2.5 times longer here than back home in Norway(about 3 inches?), so yeah, there are differences.
- mratomika, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Having lived in the Philippines, I noticed that the majority of the population doesn't use Toilet Paper, but rather they "iwong" or wipe with their hand with the help of water . . . so yeah . . . I think that is also a difference that may need to be addressed.
- Alfdog, on 10/10/2007, -6/+4It doesn't concern you that a lot of people in 3rd world countries have a hard time feeding their families, but how people wipe their ass is of grave concern.
- mratomika, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Yes it is of more concern . . .
Go live in the Philippines my friend, those who can't "afford" food, have enough natural resources to get them fed. Not to mention the Philippines is more of a communal society than America, so if you can't get food, head over to a families house, or jump around town and find a fiesta, there are buckets of rice, meat, and noodles for anyone who walks in the front door.
So we have established they can get the food, but the fact that a large majority wipe their ass with their hand . . . and then prepare and/or eat food is just a nasty thought all in itself. Think of the diseases that are spread from that region to your mouth . . .
Check your facts before you make a comment, go live outside of suburban America and get a reality check of how the world works.
- mratomika, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Yes it is of more concern . . .

- ArmchairAthlete, on 10/10/2007, -6/+61I imagine our TP in the US is wider to accommodate our fat asses.

- astrotrain, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Thats for W.C. Fields to load paper into the printer...
"Go away printer error... you bother me.."- GawtMilk, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3WOAH that was a cultured comment. What are you doing on Digg?
- riksta, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I got the Office Space reference ;)
- astrotrain, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Thats for W.C. Fields to load paper into the printer...
- MikeyBillz, on 10/10/2007, -5/+1American toilet paper is usually bigger, fluffier, wider and longer...Americans are wasteful even when it comes to pooping...
- ptdev, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10hands full of paper? you mean you don't know how to use the 3 sea shells?
- Richthofen80, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4Hahaha Dug for brilliant demolition man reference!
- ciaran036, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I haven't noticed any different in length. In some places I've been, the toilet paper is thinner but that's only if you buy cheap rolls.
- Error601, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Maybe they did it like the evolution of photographic film. They took the original stock, the Sears catalog page, and split it longways.
- iepurilah, on 10/10/2007, -7/+1Really nice option =))
- Fordi, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1From Wikipedia: "Certain websites now offer custom toilet paper printing, with the option of having a friend (or enemy)'s picture printed."
I'm sure the option was added as a joke (it's not an augmented image; the template is actually part of the Gimp), but given that, there is a potential use for it.
The reason I think it's not a joke is there's no 'mug' or 't-shirt' template. Surely if they were just covering their bases, that would be there.
- Fordi, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1From Wikipedia: "Certain websites now offer custom toilet paper printing, with the option of having a friend (or enemy)'s picture printed."
- chumpsucker, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9My request to the GIMP group for a "doohickey" document format has fallen on deaf ears, maybe now they'll revisit this.
- GerryBot, on 10/10/2007, -23/+4Only an open sauce programme would have an option like that! Now to trawl the stock galleries looking for pictures of turds...
- JacNet, on 10/10/2007, -1/+40Mmmm.... Open sauce.
- techweenie1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Brooklyn?

- adsoftheworld, on 10/10/2007, -3/+48It's a legit option. Toilet paper is the new medium of choice in advertising:

- fattyboy, on 10/10/2007, -18/+7Hey OP - nice copy and paste job from Reddit
- RyanWilliams, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3You act like those of us who read Digg and not Reddit would actually care if it's ripped from there.
- verdehead, on 10/10/2007, -10/+4People have been placing things on TP since 9-11 http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/images/blosamatp.htm
- Fordi, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Actually, from World War II, with slogans such as 'Wipe Out Hitler'.
The Wikipedia entry on Toilet Paper is about as good dry humor as has been on Digg all day. - tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2That's freaking awesome! I'm not sure why you're dugg down. Oh, perhaps it's because this is Digg, where Osama didn't really have anything to do with the attacks, where Osama works for the CIA, where America is evil, etc.
+1 for the badass TP, and I saw it on just the right day. ***** you, Osama.

- WiseWeasel, on 10/10/2007, -15/+10How else am I supposed to make my GWB toilet paper? My ass just wouldn't be satisfied with plain white...
- Dirtynoodle111, on 10/11/2007, -13/+108The image was manipulated using GIMP® software.
- Burritoking924, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12This is how you know that you've been spending too much time on Digg, and I admit, I dugg him up.
- bob12321, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4I am almost positive that ® should go at the end of GIMP since i don't think most open source application's will reserve the rights of there title.
- Firehed, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Yeah.. I hope the devs don't take this the wrong way, but nobody else in their right mind would consider for a moment naming their product GIMP.
Except, of course, the nylon lanyard guys.- pplude92, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3Maybe because it's an acronym. You know, means GNU Image Manipulation Program. When I take the first letter from each word, what does it say?

Very good class. Congratulations, you pass special Ed

- arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5It is real. I was looking at GIMP settings the other day and saw this and wondered what use it could ever possibly have.
- FadieZ, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3What use could it possibly NOT have?
- FreakyD, on 10/10/2007, -6/+0Only applicable on Iraqi government computers

- BladeMelbourne, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5That's how art students get their degrees.
- knetworx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They can even get a PhD by writing a dissertation on how that's a metaphor for him being an asswipe.
- MaTT2011, on 10/10/2007, -10/+1Toilet Paper option eh?
Sounds like a good template to print pictures of Dictator George W. Bush's face on... - dvsbastard, on 10/10/2007, -2/+24I wonder if Gimp adheres to the newer 3 ply standards, as well as being backwards compatible with double and single ply varieties...
- D3koy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Dugg, not because it was particularly funny, but because it wasn't a terrible "put Bush on it" joke...
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -6/+60Yes, they used it to reprint the Constitution in the White House Restrooms.
- skyfire1, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1This would be a good way to print out bj porn.
- Toshibi, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2See, I had the idea for an internet start-up where people could upload photos of people they don't like, not just political figures or famous people, but anyone (or anything) and it could get printed off using safe inks and shipped, mostly as a novelty item. I think some company beat me to it though.
- knetworx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Still waiting for the punchline.....oh, that was it?
- .Steven, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13Find out for yourselves: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/portablegimp/GIMP_Portable_2.2.17.paf.exe?download
- erkokite, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I checked it- it's there. File->New->Template->6th from bottom.
- tvon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+20It's been an option for about 2 years.
- iofthestorm, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Seriously, where have you guys been? I saw this the first time I used the new button and kind of chuckled inside, but it's not really that funny.
- SquigglyP, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9I tried that one time, but I went through SO MANY rolls before i got a printout without either tearing the paper all to shreds or running out of ink. The trick is to feed it in from back to front.
- BladeMelbourne, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11>The trick is to feed it in from back to front.
Are you talking about wiping or printing?- minigamer1896, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Either that or about how to place it on the holder.

- sublimemtb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12The real question is how to get my printer to print on toilet paper
- Raddix, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1At one point, Tivoli (pre IBM) had a competitor's face printed on rolls of toilet paper by employees, who then convinced the janitorial staff to stock the bathrooms with it.
- Apoy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1No it's not edited. I just opened my GIMP and yeah, there's the option
- redmaxx, on 10/10/2007, -2/+19What they need is an option to take videos from YouTube and print them out frame by frame. Then you'd literally have a YouTube. Just pull really hard and instant video!
- mulletmusketeer, on 10/10/2007, -1/+22I'm not going to lie, I tried it. It took about 30 mins to fix my printer
