you OUR hilarious. - th3heretic, on 10/11/2007, -11/+4Do you people not get tired of posting damn key's? Its not even that funny and your definitely not 'sticking it to the man' your just making yourselves look like a bunch of fools.
- phort99, on 10/11/2007, -53/+48I know Kevin isn't going to delete this after the HD-DVD fiasco, so I propose we censor this ***** ourselves by burying it as lame. I honestly don't give a crap what the hell the code is, if you wanna share it with the world, do it somewhere ***** else. There are plenty of Russian piracy sites where this kind of content could be hosted more generously, and probably already is. I doubt that this would have gotten as many diggs as it has if it weren't for the stupid HD-DVD censorship. I'm already sick as all hell with all the ***** comments with the HD-DVD code in them, and I'm going to bury any more comments or stories with this ***** in them too. If anybody can get away with posting illegal content because they'll repeatedly repost it when the digg staff deletes them, what recourse is there to keep digg from just turning into a piracy site and getting completely shut down? I like digg as it is, and digg is not the place for torrents, P2P, warez, crackz, or AACS processing keys.
- EndersGame, on 10/11/2007, -7/+2So this key will work for about 100 movies and then they will just use a new key, why the hell did you guys post this to Digg? It would be better if you kept it secret for a while and waited til this key worked for 1000 movies. Besides, I don't think a single Digg user that read this story is going to be able to do anything with the key anyways, thats all going on behind the scenes.
- griz, on 10/11/2007, -3/+60How many people (including digg users) really know what to do with this number?
- awhiteflame, on 10/11/2007, -5/+3http://i11.tinypic.com/6f8er9w.png !!
- specialK16, on 10/11/2007, -3/+25FSWTRKS:
"Well there’s legal precedent to this already.
Remember when Intel went from 486 to Pentium? That was because they tried to copyright the numbers “80486″ and “486″ so Cyrix and AMD couldn't’t name their clone chips after their “Genuine Intel” CPU’s.
It was ruled that you cannot copyright, own, or trademark any number, because numbers have been around forever and are thus obviously public domain.
So I guess neither you guys nor the AACS can own any of these numbers, no matter how “commercially useful” they are."
So, to all of you jerks saying you own your ID, SS, PIN numbers: Shut up. You don't own them, you just don't want anyone else to know them for obvious reasons. You CAN'T own numbers, so the AACS can go screw themselves. - macmcrae, on 10/11/2007, -5/+17Kevin should delete this. Digg needs another revolt. It was great publicity.
- bunbury, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Welcome to last week, guys?
- brainboy77, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1wtf is AACS?
- brainboy77, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1i'll give a hundred bucks to the person that can tell me how to actually use this.

Call it charity work ;) - CBanga, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2@SpecialK16
But there is legal precedent for rights with regards to combinations of letters and numbers. Numbers alone maybe, but your "precedent" case becomes irrelevant when letters are included if you want to go by what you state as letter of the law. By your reasoning, I couldn't copyright something like "Nintendo 64" or "Mach 3" razor.
I hate DRM as much as the next guy, but I really don't see your reasoning with your statement. - danrik, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1@Cbanga:
Not really, the letters are just a convenience of the hexadecimal notation - in this case, it IS entirely a number - I could just as easily post the decimal, octal, or even binary representation (hint: all numbers!) and it would be just as useful for the same purpose.
- z00k, on 10/11/2007, -52/+25Wooo, Just wondering how digg is going to handle THIS story.
- Chrysalid, on 10/11/2007, -4/+25Yes! It was just a matter of time. Props for the one who makes the first song out of it.

- Rodalli, on 10/11/2007, -14/+3I don't understand. Is this or is this not randomly generated?
- avihappy, on 10/11/2007, -4/+14It's random.
- Roger, on 10/11/2007, -0/+43I kinda doubt some guy random generated the correct processing key.
- bigboehmboy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9he must have known the number ahead of time. It's obviously some joke of his on the world's, and I love it.
- Trevor2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Theres something going on with http://www.freedom-to-tinker.com/, when I go there my Firefox shuts down. Then when I stupidly tried to run it with IE an icon appeared on my desktop for a split second and then BSOD. Now my internet won't work. That was my XP partition, I'm typing this in Vista.
- Trevor2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1It happened right after this part of the page loaded:
http://0xcb.0xdf.0x9e.0x0c/t'
Nothing happened when I used Firefox in Vista though, I don't dare try it in IE 7.
- zeroprobe, on 10/14/2007, -20/+3wow what are the odds lol

>:( - ShadowKlown, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6Lol I noticed that too, jumped about 100 diggs between reading the article and then coming back to the comments.
Think this one will hit 30,000+ too?
Edit: Where did it go? I don't see it on the front page anymore. - eteepell, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I just have a like of hexadecimal numbers. I digg hex. but thats just me.

- StillGaming, on 10/11/2007, -8/+2Nevermind. Bury me, digg will ban me if I leave that message up.
- MeThePeople, on 10/11/2007, -7/+5true. instead of posting the actual code in the title why not just say "new AACS Processing Key found".
