I know a lot of people who think LinkedIn or Facebook are going to net them all sort of amazing connections and lead to wealth beyond their dreams. In reality, 90% of the people on there are recruiters or other sales type people who become obsessed with building the largest "network".

It's getting ridiculous now with people posting on friend feed about the post they made on twitter about what they've posted on facebook.
    This is the same stupid ***** like those webrings from web 1.0. None of this is new and exciting, and it's just as unoriginal and douchey as before.

    It's quite scary seeing your name (including the .com part) on the top of digg and thinking, WTF did I do now?!?

    I got slashdotted by surprise a few years ago. The last thing I needed was to get overdugg.

  • aetherboy, on 05/13/2008, -0/+6Want to know who is spamming? My guess is that its "Kolbe Market Consultants" which is owned by Barbara Kolbe who is shown to have Dugg a lot of the spam comments up.

    This isn't the first time I've caught her doing this ***** either. While she doesn't have a phone number, try using the contact form at: http://kolbemarket.com/about/ to let her know how you feel about being spammed. If you read the description of her services she seems like a VERY likely culprit for this.

    And be sure to bury this story.
  • detoxdiet, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1Chris, unlike the negative comments, I digg you, man. I am also an Internet Marketer, so birds of a feather flock together I guess. People are using social media marketing to get on top of the search engines. Everyone knows that and it is OK. I too, have a blog at http://googletrafficsource.blogspot.com that enhances and confirms what Chris is saying. I am sorry for those who just use social media websites to just chat and make friends. While that is OK, some of us have to make a living doing what we love.
