- koalaznbear, on 05/22/2008, -7/+123After reading this, I'm downloading Firefox 3 asap! I don't care about the bugs; by the time they release the official version I'll already be familiar with it.
Thanks Mozilla!- jls33fsls, on 05/22/2008, -5/+58I have been using Firefox 3 since the first beta and haven't had any trouble, what bugs are you referring to that kept you from FF3 in the first place?
- stuy486, on 05/22/2008, -0/+17My only problem with it is the number of add-ons that I'm used to using that are incompatible now (Tab Mix Plus being the main one), but even with that, I'm still using it because of the dramatic speed increase.
- cdawzrd, on 05/22/2008, -4/+16I used to use Tab Mix Plus but I find it rather irrelevant now...
- dinostabOMG, on 05/22/2008, -0/+7Out of curiosity, do you happen to know if AdBlock Plus and All-in-One Gestures still work?
- Apocalypse321, on 05/22/2008, -1/+7Adblock plus and NoScript both were very fast with the updates. I was initially mad because gestures doesn't update, but a quick google search revealed a beta version of it for FF3. almost every common add on has either a compatible one or a beta version. Besides, if there is a add on that you can't live without, nightly tester has a force computability feature, but expect bugs with it.
I didn't use the betas, but RC1 is amazing. - zach382, on 05/22/2008, -0/+9There is actually a Tab Mix Plus build for Firefox 3, you can get it from the developer's forum. Here's the link: http://tmp.garyr.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8841
This is one of those extensions I can't live without. I've been using the dev build for a couple of months now and have never had a problem with it. - knight666, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1I love the "Open new tab next to current tab" feature of Tab Mix Plus, but Tab Open Relative does the same thing and is working under FF3.
I don't understand why Mozilla didn't throw that in in FF3. :\ - Gizza, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2Google sync is the one addon currently no available for FF3 that I can't live without. I have my browser at work and at home synced. Extremely handy.
- noahsawyer, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2This article has helpful info to get around extension compatibility: http://www.tectonic.co.za/?p=2331
- dark_helmet, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1There was a bug in earlier betas that caused it to crash when you tried to save too many images at once, it has since been fixed though. I remember that one was a particular pain in the ass.
- stuy486, on 05/22/2008, -0/+17My only problem with it is the number of add-ons that I'm used to using that are incompatible now (Tab Mix Plus being the main one), but even with that, I'm still using it because of the dramatic speed increase.
- koalaznbear, on 05/22/2008, -0/+5I'm referring to the bugs mentioned in the article. I haven't used Firefox 3 yet; that's why I say, despite the bugs, I'm downloading asap!
- BlaenkDenum, on 05/22/2008, -3/+11Even if you do encounter bugs, it's better to encounter them now and have the opportunity to report them in hopes of having them fixed before it is released, or be lazy (read: pussy), refuse to give back to the community, and expect to see those same bugs in the release version.
Plus it gives you more of a transition period so you can adapt to the new browser.- dood, on 05/22/2008, -5/+5Heh, nice. A couple bugs I've been tracking and submitted reproduction cases for, and one I've even submitted a partial patch for are still open, several years later. I'm done trying to give back to the community.
- ZedoMann, on 06/18/2008, -0/+0I didn't think it was that hard to transition to. Just a bigger back button, it matches with your OS, and it has other new features.
- ptFoe, on 05/22/2008, -10/+1you don't care about STDs either
- mynameistux, on 05/22/2008, -0/+4wtf?
- Rikkochet, on 05/22/2008, -1/+5You won't regret it. Lots and lots of annoyances and bugs from FF2 are completely gone.
My only complaint is addon compatibility - I've been running since 3 beta 4 and I've been lamenting the loss of the Google toolbar and mouse gestures. Gestures finally came back today - still want my Google bar! - trunkster, on 05/22/2008, -0/+3I've been using Minefield (nightly builds of Firefox) and have had few problems with bugs. Especially as of lately since the beta releases. It's been cool to have new features appear suddenly and help out with testing bugs. Though I'm worried a bit about the crashes when looking at porn websites...
- Kamill85, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2The best feature is clipboard *****-up.
- lukbut, on 05/22/2008, -1/+3firefox 3 is very stable, dw go ahead and dl :)
- silfiriel, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1what bugs? the beta releases crashed on yahoo answers, other than that, i can't think of any bug
- Dracker, on 05/22/2008, -1/+3As an Opera user, I have grown very fond of the Opera feature that allows you to middle click an empty part of the tab bar to open a new tab and switch focus to it (which then displayed my Speed Dial).
However, when I tried Firefox 3 RC1, this didn't work - no new tab was opened. Is there an extension that enables this feature?- Bloblub, on 05/22/2008, -1/+4Double click the tab bar.
- jls33fsls, on 05/22/2008, -5/+58I have been using Firefox 3 since the first beta and haven't had any trouble, what bugs are you referring to that kept you from FF3 in the first place?
- Technolaziness, on 05/22/2008, -41/+1Isn't Yahoo enough for Microsoft at this time?
- MirzaSaadBaig, on 05/22/2008, -13/+90Cant wait for FF3!!!!
- shankarganesh, on 05/22/2008, -2/+28download FF3 RC1 then :P
- NeoNightmareX, on 05/22/2008, -5/+83Final Fantasy 3 has already been out for like 14 years

- estvir, on 05/22/2008, -35/+9I can't believe the new GUI [on Windows] is considered a 'top' feature of FF3, it's hideous on XP and Vista.
- solidus636, on 05/22/2008, -2/+19It's a lot better than FF2's GUI, and it looks great to me. Plus, it's not the GUI itself that is the feature, it's the integration it shows within each operating system, so that each application looks native to the OS.
- ElBeh, on 05/22/2008, -3/+16I dunno about Vista, but it's orgasmic here on XP. It has some nice shading to it, therefore making it not really boring, and yet it's simple and efficient. Google is a good example of how simplicity and efficiency is a good thing.
- solidus636, on 05/22/2008, -4/+1Isn't is almost the same, just a few colors are changed between Vista and XP?
- specialK16, on 05/22/2008, -3/+2It actually kinda sucks in Vista, as well with most applications. Problem is with that space from the menu bar and the toolbar that is sort of light blue/white in the Vista Aero and Vista Basic skin (not really sure if you understand what I am saying). And Aero only allows you to change the frame color and frame transparency.
That blue light/white color in Windows Vista sucks BIG time in my opinion. (WB ftw!)

- renegadeafk, on 05/22/2008, -1/+5https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/733 ...
Adds Aero support for firefox in vista (Transparent like IE7), instant sexiness. There is also some user styles that change the keyhole buttons to the native vista ones which make it look a lot better as well.- specialK16, on 05/22/2008, -0/+5That is simply BEAUTIFUL! If I still were using Vista I would definitely be using that!
- dha07030, on 05/22/2008, -6/+20It starts up fast too, the beta had me worried for a bit.
- Lutremi, on 05/22/2008, -10/+15I plan to download the official version when it comes out. Right now, I'm using Safari 3.1 in XP, and good freakin god it is smooth. The only reason it will not compete with FF as best as it could is because it doesn't have the community of developers making awesome extensions.
- mikewitt, on 05/22/2008, -18/+15You're forgetting the main problem with safari: It's crap.
It and IE8b1 wouldn't run the test suites because it caused a crash. Apple has made no recent announcements about it, and it seems haphazardly put together for Windows.
Safari just sucks massive balls. - ferrariman60, on 05/23/2008, -0/+1Especially ABP. I am in love with AdBlock. And also, Safari is ugly, but that's just my opinion. And just download the RC, it's got no problems for use by everyone. I don't notice any bugs at all. Also, the story doesn't mention it, but when you hit F11 to go full screen the whole interace vanishes up until you mouse over it, giving you the entire screen for internet. It's great. And the address bar kicks all the ass in the world. (Using FF3 RC1 right now)
- mikewitt, on 05/22/2008, -18/+15You're forgetting the main problem with safari: It's crap.
- Scaryclouds, on 05/22/2008, -3/+30FF3 will definitely be the browser to beat when it is officially released. I've been using the beta version (Minefield) for several months and other than the few hiccups that come with beta software I have been thoroughly impressed. It is very quick once it gets going and I absolutely love the new address bar, it definitely earned the name of "awesome bar."
- JensenSteve, on 05/22/2008, -1/+6Can't wait for this, looks like it has some long needed updates.
- Owwmykneecap, on 05/22/2008, -12/+54The best reason is and always will be: it's not internet explorer.
- Arcanis, on 05/22/2008, -1/+14No, extensions.
- KingWi11, on 05/22/2008, -19/+2NOT Digging due to too many top ten NOUNS
- solistus, on 05/22/2008, -0/+8You don't actually have to inform us every time you choose not to digg a story. Thanks.
- theHM, on 05/22/2008, -0/+6Hmm, Top Ten Nouns sounds like a good article. I'll drop a line to Cracked...
- cowsgonemadd3, on 05/22/2008, -3/+122Best feature=speed
- EserVerx, on 05/22/2008, -1/+4I duno, not being raped by spyware / malware / popups, and being more secure all around is up there for me.

- glinsvad, on 05/22/2008, -0/+7Best feature=Setting Gmail to handle mailto-links!
- zizzy, on 05/22/2008, -0/+3Yeah, maybe that's why it's number 1 on the list!
- sonnybobiche, on 05/22/2008, -2/+3Indeed, as an Opera user, I'm a little jealous of that bottom graph. Looks like the O guys are gonna have to work overtime to catch up.
- Ramble, on 05/22/2008, -5/+2Are you using 9.5 beta? I am, don't you worry, it spits all over FF3.
- sonnybobiche, on 05/22/2008, -2/+1I get a 404 when I try to download it, so I guess I'm stuck with 9.27.
- theHM, on 05/22/2008, -0/+6That's interesting, since the bottom graph shows that Firefox 3 "spits all over" Opera 9.5b.
- Zounas, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2More interesting is that you can actually change the memory settings in browsers (at least in Opera) so that it suits your needs and stuff. So this whole memory usage comparison isn't that cool anymore...
- barktwiggs, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2That chart is old and was compiled before Opera started doing PGO (Profile Guided Optimazations), the same thing that Mozilla has done on Firefox to help their performance.
- Ramble, on 05/22/2008, -5/+2Are you using 9.5 beta? I am, don't you worry, it spits all over FF3.
- nepttako, on 05/23/2008, -0/+1You are so right
- EserVerx, on 05/22/2008, -1/+4I duno, not being raped by spyware / malware / popups, and being more secure all around is up there for me.
- twoboxen, on 05/22/2008, -10/+411. Major resource utilization bug on linux. (disclaimer: i still love FF... nice work on v3 guys!)
- santaliqueur, on 05/22/2008, -1/+4No. 11...So that's a feature?
- BluesFan, on 05/22/2008, -5/+7It's nice how it remembers sites I've been to,now how do I get it to not remember sites I don't want it to remember?
BTW how do I totally uninstall IE off my computer permanently.- Lazydriver, on 05/22/2008, -2/+6Ye can't, it's ingrained with the OS, Microsoft wasn't lying. That's why that browser was so ***** vulnerable, cause it had EXTREMELY easy access to root. Course, that changed, but still, you can't, and the browser's still ingrained with the OS (as in, it's not just an internet browser, but it's your computer's GUI front-end when it comes to looking for documents, Windows Explorer), but the operating system exploitiness is obviously far less then IE6, because of all the easy exploits (regarding IE8).
Either way, IE's a piece of ***** and damn Microsoft for not innovating without serious competition. Let them suffer. - chil2c5, on 05/22/2008, -2/+5press 'delete' when the entry is selected (works with the web form drop-down history as well)
- specialK16, on 05/22/2008, -1/+5Delete your porn sites from history. That way they won't appear.
Also, you cannot uninstall IE. If you do so you will have a some problems using Outlook, MSN Messenger and other apps, so just leave it there doing nothing. - joshuabowers, on 05/22/2008, -4/+8"BTW how do I totally uninstall IE off my computer permanently."

- jwoulf, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1Ubuntu fails hard..
- nyfael, on 05/22/2008, -1/+3You most definitely can remove IE, I don't know the consequences (specialK16 pointed out a few... which I haven't tested -- leaving that up to you)
(This is XP SP2)
1. Go to "Add or Remove Programs"
2. Click Add/Remove Windows Components
3. Uncheck Internet Explorer
4. Click Next
I'm not actually doing it so you'll have to go from there. I personally use Thunderbird, not Outlook, Digsby, not MSN Messenger, and I don't know if you would actually have a problem if you set your default browser otherwise, but Microsoft IS gay like that, so perhaps.- SwitchXFactor, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1Smart man, beat me to it.
- Mejogid, on 05/22/2008, -0/+4@nyfael
All it does is remove the start menu shortcuts - it's still very much there, since it's embedded so deeply into Windows. - ramilehti, on 05/22/2008, -2/+2Get a Linux distro DVD.
Put it in.
Install.
No more IE!!
Seriously...
You will not miss Windows once you get used to Linux.- SwitchXFactor, on 05/22/2008, -1/+1Miss windows... no... miss Crysis, yes.
- theaceoffire, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1No one is playing Crysis for fun.
Bioshock, UT3, and other games maybe.

- Vindicoth, on 05/22/2008, -10/+1Soon as my Google Toolbar (for bookmarks anywhere) starts working I'll switch over :).
- MatthewGranda, on 05/22/2008, -17/+4Just finished downloading FireFox 3 ß, now I am really browsing the interwebs!
- TheSpook, on 05/22/2008, -1/+11Now you can start a download of RC1.
- ElBeh, on 05/22/2008, -3/+10Though 7 (Improved Download Manager) is very true, DownThemAll! is ten times better as mentioned in the article. It's the first addon I recommend to other FireFox-users after AdBlock Plus.
- Modestexcuse, on 05/22/2008, -0/+8I too use DownThemAll, with excellent results. I completely agree with you, my second recommendation after AdBlock Plus.
- betona, on 05/22/2008, -1/+4For some people, I suppose. I installed Down Them All, and removed it a few weeks later. I didn't like the UI one bit.
- picpak, on 05/22/2008, -2/+1The download manager doesn't have a Clear button at the bottom anymore. It really annoys me.
- iiiears, on 05/23/2008, -0/+1Google had the "down them all" site listed as "May harm your computer" why is that?
- DiscoLando, on 05/22/2008, -4/+20My brain keeps interpreting the headline as Top 3 Firefox 10 Features. Either I've gone 5 years into the future, or I need some sleep.
- mikewitt, on 05/22/2008, -0/+4Same here.
- Udog, on 05/22/2008, -0/+7Dyslexia for cure found.
- jenel, on 05/22/2008, -0/+4I Dyslexia ♥
- woofers07, on 05/22/2008, -13/+7I can't wait to go back to FF, Safari 3 lured me away, but I'm definitely ready to go back.
- debuffplx, on 05/22/2008, -12/+4So the only useful feature is the resume download feature. The rest is bloat and I really hope there is an option to disable the "smart" on the location bar. I don't want irrelevant ***** popping up when I start typing in an address bar. Still totally worth it for the download manager though.
- jwoulf, on 05/22/2008, -5/+1Yeah, I'm on FF3 RC1 and I already ***** hate the smart location bar, there better be a way to disable this *****, I've not found it yet.
- afx114, on 05/22/2008, -1/+1Give it time, it will eventually learn your browsing habits and present you with more relevant information.
For those of you who are too impatient, there is an AddOn called OldBar or something like that that will get rid of it.- debuffplx, on 05/22/2008, -4/+2I don't want it to learn my browsing habits or anything about what I do. It's too invasive and I'm capable enough to find whatever information I need without a smartbar telling me where to go.
- theaceoffire, on 05/22/2008, -1/+1Then don't use it.
- debuffplx, on 05/22/2008, -4/+2I don't want it to learn my browsing habits or anything about what I do. It's too invasive and I'm capable enough to find whatever information I need without a smartbar telling me where to go.
- galrok, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2There are about:config settings to change all this, but I thought I would hate it and I love it now. I just downloaded the extension "oldbar" it leaves the smart search enabled, but also sets it back to the old: one address per line instead of two or 3 lines to explain each link. It is useful because it still auto completes addresses like firefox 2 did normally, while also searching previous pages and bookmarks when typing random words.
- wukillabee, on 05/22/2008, -16/+5They better ***** have these things:
-Check download size before you download the damn file
-Show exif data and # of frames on jpegs and gifs
*****... i know theres some other things i wanted but i forgot :(- truspect0r, on 05/22/2008, -0/+4https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q= ...
- talonstriker, on 05/22/2008, -1/+3You realize that you can always cancel the download right?
- aliguana, on 05/23/2008, -0/+1I use an extension that shows exif data on images that contain it. Had it for years. The first one: well, thats the fault of the server, not Firefox. If it doesn't report the size, firefox can't display it.
- LightSpeed4, on 05/22/2008, -90/+12STILL not as good as IE. IE is undeniably still the best browser.
Nice to see FF trying to catch up though. 85% on the internet is on IE.- ryleyleckie, on 05/22/2008, -4/+4985% of the internet is stupid
- talonstriker, on 05/22/2008, -4/+1I wouldn't call them stupid. Its just that IE suits their needs so they see no reason in switching. The why nerds switch to FF is that they spend 3+ hours/day on the net so the browser is a serious part of their lives. Normal people barely spend 1 h/d, so they don't need to have a souped up browser.
Also IE 7, besides memory usage, is pretty decent although I can't stand the GUI.- theaceoffire, on 05/22/2008, -1/+4IE doesn't suit them better.
They think IE *is* the internet.
They think google/yahoo/homepage IS the internet.
They think using a different browser requires calling the ISP for a new connection.
Majority!=Better.
- theaceoffire, on 05/22/2008, -1/+4IE doesn't suit them better.

- uncwidiot, on 05/22/2008, -10/+10Where the hell are you getting your numbers? According to w3schools browser statistics, Firefox Usage for April is 39.1% meaning IE can't possibly be 85. Check your numbers before you post them.
http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.a ...- PueSi, on 05/22/2008, -2/+7From your link:
"W3Schools is a website for people with an interest for web technologies. These people are more interested in using alternative browsers than the average user. The average user tends to use Internet Explorer, since it comes preinstalled with Windows. Most do not seek out other browsers.
These facts indicate that the browser figures above are not 100% realistic. Other web sites have statistics showing that Internet Explorer is used by at least 80% of the users." - splorpdotorg, on 05/22/2008, -2/+5I'm a huge Firefox fan and hope everyone uses it, but W3Schools leans HEAVILY towards tech-savvy users. Firefox leans heavily towards tech-savvy users. Thus, the numbers you're seeing. It'd be like getting the browser stats for apple.com and saying "See! Safari is the most popular browser EVAR!!!1!1!!1!!1one!11!11!eleventy-one11!!!11!1"
- LightSpeed4, on 05/22/2008, -5/+3haha you use w3schools as a source against me. Wow rofl
- familynight, on 05/22/2008, -2/+2somehow, i don't think you're really rolling on the floor laughing.
- fortezza, on 05/24/2008, -0/+1Actually, some people use more than one browser. On the SAME computer! OMG, can it be true?
- PueSi, on 05/22/2008, -2/+7From your link:
- elvenseven, on 05/22/2008, -4/+11I believe you got your stats from myspace.
- qbthemc, on 05/22/2008, -6/+7I hope you where being sarcastic with that statement.
- theHM, on 05/22/2008, -1/+16You all need Troll Detection as a Firefox addon.
- SwitchXFactor, on 05/22/2008, -1/+3It's a trap!
- kraetos, on 05/22/2008, -2/+3What? IE blows. It's insecure, slow, and lacks useful features. The only reason it enjoys majority market share is because it's comes with Windows and most people are lazy, ignorant, or apathetic. Firefox, Safari, Opera, pretty much any other browser is better than IE on nearly every level.

- drummerdude208, on 05/22/2008, -3/+4I'm loving RC1 right now, it's just tough finding a FireFTP alternative. Ideas anyone?
- l0k0, on 05/22/2008, -1/+5Filezilla and WinSCP.

- dylio, on 05/22/2008, -5/+1Can anyone direct me to some good dark colored FF3 RC1 themes. Im using the night launch one, but I need something new. I used Metal Lion until I upgraded to FF3 from FF2. Thanks in advance!

- Biznarie, on 05/22/2008, -2/+9Firefox 3 fixed that, its much harder to get malware on firefox compared to IE on windows that makes it better imo.

- richnojutsu, on 05/22/2008, -2/+5I'm using Firefox 3 right now. It's a huge improvement even as a beta. Even though my poor add-ons don't work yet. If you don't have it yet, get it!
- spect3r, on 05/22/2008, -1/+12I've noticed a HUGE improvement with RC1 and Digg pages open in multiple tabs. With Firefox 2; it was painful and I would always end up using Safari for digg....
Seriously, try out RC1 - it's really fast. Especially on digg - mal1964, on 05/22/2008, -4/+3I'm a horrible speller and I don't get much help from the FF spell check. I rarely use it diggs is so much better but FF is more convenient to use.. I heard you can add dictionaries to improve it, If true can someone clue me please?
- mal1964, on 05/22/2008, -2/+2lol i know how to install dictionaries, What I'm really asking is for a recommendations for some better ones.
- mal1964, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2I remember when my question or a similar one would get at least 10 answers on digg

He just asked a question, one I would like to hear the answer to.
Thanks.

- LZeppelinJ0, on 05/22/2008, -17/+6I've been using Safari 3.1.1 for so long I don't know if I can switch :(
- jabz, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1Man, that`s poor!
- Modestexcuse, on 05/22/2008, -3/+5I've been using the Firefox 3 RC for a few days, with zero bugs or shutdown problems. I went through every beta (up to 5) with minimal trouble. Very fast on my Vista machine, compared to Opera, IE (i tried the old and new), and even Safari. It also does better than all the others I've tried on an Acid 3 test (71).
To say the least, I am quite happy with Firefox 3, and will continue to use it for a long time to come.
http://acid3.acidtests.org/- Kazbaeden, on 05/22/2008, -5/+4Opera does 78 ^_^
- slaver, on 05/22/2008, -5/+5Native integration for all systems my ass. Where is KDE integration?
- fittysix, on 05/22/2008, -0/+3There is some initial work being done on a native QT integration, but don't expect that for 3.0.
http://blog.vlad1.com/2008/05/06/well-isnt-that-qt ...
For now anyways the GTK-QT engine works nicely for 'look and feel' and IIRC Mozilla is working with that project upstream to fix a few bugs/things. - talonstriker, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1FF looks like Java's default look-and-feel theme on my Kubuntu....except Java's theme is much better.

- epyon180, on 05/22/2008, -2/+13"Your browser is a serious part of your computer time, so having it look like nothing else on your system can be seriously annoying."
you hear that safari for windows?- yingjai, on 05/22/2008, -6/+2Well it does look like iTunes on Windows also. Install that and Safari will no longer be the only app looking different.
- ketsugi, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2The weird part is that the screenshot they show for the Mac OS X look isn't the Proto theme that ships with FF3 by default, but one of the GrApple themes by Aronnax from http://takebacktheweb.org, so I'm not really sure that really helps to illustrate their point very well.
- Emachine, on 05/22/2008, -2/+4I really like FF3, have it on my Asus Eee, "Ctrl +/-" zooming is great for small res screen, but I still use FF2 on my main laptop because most of the extensions I need are still FF2 only. :(
- lukbut, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1dw theyll be fixed...compatible versions of ABP and other popular ones eg foxmarks are already out.
- jjpertusch, on 05/22/2008, -4/+3oh. you left out the feature where it crashes whenever i load a youtube video in linux. thats the most noticeable feature for me.
- mvent2, on 05/22/2008, -1/+2You should be thanking Adobe for that feature.
- l0k0, on 05/22/2008, -0/+6Yes, blame Mozilla because Flash and Linux have always worked so well together...
/s- barktwiggs, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2Well, everyone was quick to blame Opera for the incompatibilities with the new commenting system.
- jjpertusch, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1i realize its adobe's fault but it doesn't happen for me in firefox2. and when i say "whenever i load a youtube video" i mean WHENEVER i load a youtube video. 80% crash rate if i had to guess. whenever i click a youtube link i prepare myself by making sure any downloads are complete and any forms im filling out are submitted.
/truth- notwizt, on 05/22/2008, -1/+0FF3 RC1 and adobe flash player works fine for me in Ubuntu 8.04, which means that your statement is incorrect. It might not work for YOU, but that doesn't mean that it's globally flawed. It probably has something to do with hardware issues.
- jjpertusch, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1i think it has something to do with pulse audio and libflash together. this problem is more widespread than you think. im happy its working for you, but that doesnt make my statement incorrect.
- jabz, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1Yeah, same here. But it`s not only youtube, it`s flash in general. There`s already a working group...they are on it!
- craighamnett, on 05/22/2008, -3/+21The "Awesome Bar" really is awesome!
- jwoulf, on 05/22/2008, -9/+2No it isn't. And the fact that you can't disable it sickens me.
- rockandrollmark, on 05/22/2008, -1/+3I agree. It's only not awesome for those who are ashamed of their porn habits.
- r00fus, on 05/22/2008, -3/+1Uh... get this if you're worried about your browsing history:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/155 ...
Or use Safari... 3.1 is faster than FF3.
- r00fus, on 05/22/2008, -3/+1Uh... get this if you're worried about your browsing history:
- LZeppelinJ0, on 05/22/2008, -2/+1Actually in reference to my previous comment, been using FF3 RC for a few minutes now and I'm really impressed with the speed of the browser... I may switch yet!
- pinguwin, on 05/22/2008, -7/+3the "awesome" bar is inexcusably awful. The first thing I did when after installing FF3 was to install oldbar extension and even that wasn't enough, so I modified some config settings that set the bar back to the FF2 style. If the "awesome" bar wasn't able to be disabled, it would be a show stopper for me and I would either stay with FF2 or move to opera. This new bar is that bad but the rest seems pretty good.
- Antimatter3009, on 05/22/2008, -2/+5You're entitled to your opinion, but I'm curious what you think is so awful about it? I've been nothing but amazed by it. I get to type in a few characters and it knows what I'm looking for, or type in a bookmark tag and have it pop up. Been great for me.
- Ev3nt372, on 05/22/2008, -6/+1Is there any way to activate the Vista buttons and stuff on XP? I using modified XP with all Vista icons.
- AvidPreatorian, on 05/22/2008, -3/+8that sounds gross..

- AvidPreatorian, on 05/22/2008, -3/+8that sounds gross..
- thewump, on 05/22/2008, -8/+2I hate the password remembering mechanism slider - yuck - especially when it get's applied to htaccess passwords too. Also, to the author, don't say that it matches look and feel to "every" operating system, and then think that there are only two. Us linux guys will set Ron Paul on you.
- qbthemc, on 05/22/2008, -9/+2All these comments are so retarded. Safari-Fail ,Opera-Fail ,Internet Explorer- Epic Fail, Firefox3-Win4life.
- SATURN, on 05/22/2008, -6/+4Good browser, but the default appearance is terrible. What's with the goofy back button? And the gaps between the tabs?
- jwoulf, on 05/22/2008, -4/+2Ok. I've been using FF3 for 3 days, and I approve of the vast majority of its features.
I wanted the smart-search bar to DIE DIE DIE... But then I found this https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/622 ... It can be disabled now.
I put a ton of good FF3 addons on my site at http://www.jwoulf.net/downloads.html- smeenz, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1You don't need an add-on to disable the stupid-bar.. it can be done with an about:config change:
browser.urlbar.matchOnlyTyped = false- MickJT, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1That doesn't do what you think it does. Yes, you do need the add-on, and even then it's not completely reverted back to how FF2 was. At the moment, there's no way to do it 100%.
- smeenz, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1You don't need an add-on to disable the stupid-bar.. it can be done with an about:config change:
- rossiohead, on 05/22/2008, -1/+64Buried because the entire list was all put on the same page. Why not spread things out over three or even four, so that we the users have more opportunities to appreciate the lovely background advertising?
- ortucis, on 05/22/2008, -13/+4So they added improved Addons system (whatever). Everything else is already in Opera anyway.
- sirmasterboy, on 05/22/2008, -1/+3Can anyone help me with a problem with adblock in firefox? Firefox seems to just leave holes where the ads it removed were, but adblock for IE7/8b automatically shift the content around. I would really like firefox to shift the content similar to IE because I think it looks nicer any ideas?
Here is an example of my problem: http://people.msoe.edu/~oldroydn/firefoxadhole.jpg- beermad, on 05/22/2008, -0/+4Your answer is to open the Adblock Plus dialogue, select Options and make sure "Collapse blocked elements" is ticked.
- notwizt, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1Could have something to do with "adblock image" vs. "adblock iframe". Blocking the entire iframe would likely give the first window as the result, compared to "adblock image" which would leave the frame and give the result shown in the second window.
- parallax7d, on 05/22/2008, -1/+6The new image scaling when zooming is pretty impressive too. And startup speed.
- logic6, on 05/22/2008, -0/+2That was one thing I hated about FF2, when increasing the font size, often it would overrun images. FIXED!
- brownrecluse888, on 05/22/2008, -12/+5Is there a feature that will allow the blocking of Obama spam?
- sq2shooter, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1Am I the only one who finds FF 3.0 for Mac a video rendering nightmare? This has been the case through the last few betas and I still can't watch streaming video without problems. Sure hope it gets fixed soon or I am forced to kick the whole damn thing to the curb.
- Tyr7BE, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1I get that regardless of browser. In my experience, OS X is a dog when it comes to flash video streaming.
Actual videos work pretty well though, regardless of browser. - m2m477, on 05/22/2008, -1/+0I've had a magnitude of problems from what you had to FF always opening in safe mode. I just ended up taking out FF3 and putting FF2 back to work.
- zongamin, on 05/22/2008, -1/+2Complete opposite for me - In FF2 flash video will disappear and only reappear if I scroll down so that part of the video is off the page. In FF3 - all betas and RC1 I have no problem.
- charbarred, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1Flash audio is failing for me big time on Windows XP (with FF).
