- shogan191, on 07/10/2008, -0/+4After hearing people say "it's just like the rest" or "this is the worst ever", it's good to know which is true.
- IntelGuy, on 07/10/2008, -0/+0I have four computers and interestingly enough, one had sound problems after installing SP3, which corresponds nicely to the 25% of other users that also experienced issues.
- benderda, on 07/10/2008, -0/+0It is helpful to know the actual numbers of users having SP3 issues.
- kraft123, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2Interesting survey!
- lardoandkeg, on 07/11/2008, -1/+1Survey just in...Windows Vista is poop.
- NikkiA, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1I don't know what happened to SP3... I'm still on SP2, SP3 showed up in the auto-update thing for a couple of days - I told it not to install it now (but did not choose 'don't tell me about this again') and haven't seen it since. It vanished about the same time as the reports of SP3 problems happened, so I assumed MS pulled the auto-update. I had forgotten that I hadn't seen it reappear until just now.
- jillcal, on 07/11/2008, -0/+0"The most frequently cited problems were Internet Explorer lock-ups..." easy fix = get firefox.
Service pack updates are major (which is why there's only been three in how many years?), and as many people Microsoft has working for them, there are almost always major bugs in their products and the patches needed to fix those bugs. Although, I have to note that since only about 1/4 of the users had noticeable problems, the issue could very well be a conflict with another not-so-common program, maybe spyware? In any event, it certainly sucks when your computer stops working - like being an addict and all the crack dealers quitting :)
