- ThatDustyGuy, on 07/04/2008, -1/+34chan i the life center of the internet universe. If it gets destroyed, all it's users will invade to other places and pervert that website too.
- TheTaoOfBill, on 07/04/2008, -1/+3For the love of God! KEEP 4CHAN ACTIVE!!
- DeFex, on 07/04/2008, -14/+6Cue the mac people whining for a mac version!

- ameologger, on 07/04/2008, -12/+0nice , i've always wanted to get lost in space !
- lardoandkeg, on 07/04/2008, -13/+4Nice, but we really need is a 3D interactive affordable gas simulator....
- nar3024, on 07/04/2008, -1/+2Get a job and stop whining. Or get off your ass and walk or use public transportation.
- TheTaoOfBill, on 07/04/2008, -0/+7You must have been born and raised in the city or something...Not everyone has the luxury of public transportation or having a job that is just a few blocks away.
- nar3024, on 07/04/2008, -1/+2Get a job and stop whining. Or get off your ass and walk or use public transportation.
- McShr3dd3r, on 07/04/2008, -12/+4looks neato!
- HuskyPuzzle, on 07/04/2008, -11/+6Wow! A great tool to teach my little sisters (8 and 11) about astronomy. Especially since they're in Catholic school..
- Spartan1911, on 07/04/2008, -11/+5Downloading now. Looks pretty good.
- MDM5280, on 07/04/2008, -3/+29"You can simulate and interact with: Our solar system: the 8 planets,160+ moons, and hundereds of asteroids"
I miss Pluto : (- Lane, on 07/04/2008, -2/+7Then stage plutos revenge and send it smashing into the earth!
- Haxxormaster, on 07/04/2008, -2/+1But now there are Plutoids!
- mrbeagle, on 07/04/2008, -0/+1Pluto didn't go anywhere, get over it
- Spartan1911, on 07/04/2008, -11/+3It's a pretty fun thing to mess around with if you are into astronomy like me.
- cyan0sis, on 07/04/2008, -10/+2This ought to entertain me for 5 minutes or so... also don't feel bad Pluto, I'm not a planet either :(
- HotDogBun, on 07/04/2008, -10/+3THIS IS THE COOLEST ***** EVER!
- skewl, on 07/04/2008, -10/+2They can ‘create’ planets and moons out of the spatial debris, explode stars, cause the Big Bang, depict atomic fusion and fission or even create a fictional Solar System! If tired of this universal construction they can annihilate this mess at a mouse click by causing the black hole to just ’suck’ everything
- industryfinest, on 07/04/2008, -10/+3I Love it!!!
- lornali, on 07/04/2008, -10/+3Cool!
- duke1981, on 07/04/2008, -9/+2I just lost 3 hours of my life.
- CasinoJack, on 07/04/2008, -10/+5I think I just broke the solar system - I sped up time too much and Mercury shot off into space :(
- 4DFX, on 07/04/2008, -10/+4No Linux or Mac version... lame
- sensor, on 07/04/2008, -10/+1Why does it contact some server when I launch it? Deleted.
- nar3024, on 07/04/2008, -2/+2Maybe it gets the current position of planets? Don't know...I haven't tried it yet
- MasterJoefus, on 07/04/2008, -1/+4It is checking for updates...
"Why is it trying to connect to the internet?
When you run Universe Sandbox it connects to update.universesandbox.com to check for updates. I give you my word it's not collecting information or doing anything malicious."
- DanQuist, on 07/04/2008, -8/+7@MDM5280
you have the only decent comment here- LostChild, on 07/04/2008, -3/+1And yours the second.
- MrColdheart, on 07/04/2008, -10/+4Now I can virtually destroy the Earth.
- LOLTheBible, on 07/04/2008, -7/+1Hey, it's God's game!
- RegularJohn, on 07/04/2008, -8/+8Ok. this is the most badass 3D simulator. ever.
- PeggyMD53, on 07/04/2008, -5/+0Really Fun Program to play with - Excellent Video about the program too
- HCviolence, on 07/04/2008, -6/+1I can't download the application. I think the digg effect is starting to sink in :-( . Dugg for future download.
- FirstDigg, on 07/04/2008, -0/+3I can get to it fine still and this isn't even on the front page yet (though not sure why since it has 340 diggs), but anyway, I mirrored the file for you:

Mirror: http://www.filedropper.com/universe-sandbox-setup - HCviolence, on 07/04/2008, -0/+1It was the file that the installer downloaded that gave me trouble. However I tried it a few times and it completed the download without errors. I been looking for a program like this forever.

- luet, on 07/04/2008, -4/+5what the ***** is with all these comments?
"looks neato!"
are you ***** me?! - powerhandler, on 07/04/2008, -5/+4dig me down!
- notyourbroom, on 07/04/2008, -0/+3To my fellow Mac users: I can confirm this does NOT work in CrossOver Games.
- Lane, on 07/04/2008, -0/+3I bet GPU acceleration would really speed things along when you get into the higher particle counts.
- JAWA, on 07/05/2008, -0/+2Did anyone notice that if you run our solar system simulation, the Earth shoots out into space around the year 2100?
- JAWA, on 07/05/2008, -0/+2I ran it again, and its a little better this time. Around 2191, Venus starts overlapping Earths orbit, then around 2208 earth really starts to wobble in its orbit. 2303 Venus shoots out into space, then around 2374 earth is really in trouble as it's oblong orbit reaches almost out to Saturn. Then one more close orbit to the sun and we are shot far out into space. Either way, we are not reaching the year 3000 alive. Isn't science fun!
- OzStone, on 07/06/2008, -0/+0The simulation loses accuracy when the time step is too high. 'Our Solar System' works great until you go above 10 days per step.
