10 Killer Firefox Extensions You Probably Don’t Know About
webupon.com — This isn't the usual list of extensions that everyone is used to using, but 10 add-ons that many may not know about, but can be very useful for everyday web browsing.
- 5222 diggs
- digg it
- gunnerrs, on 03/11/2008, -37/+6 Cooliris Previews i already know this killer extension just a simple preview addon to google search i like it
- Dested, on 03/11/2008, -4/+3haha The one I think might be spam happens to also be the first comment. Coincidence?
There were definitely 5 or 6 that I just installed though, so still very much worth reading. - bitcloud, on 03/11/2008, -3/+3That Piclens extention is pretty sweet for google image search... Not sure about previews tho.. looked a bit clunky...
- AlexBellisBrown, on 03/11/2008, -2/+1Works ace on Myspace
- Dested, on 03/11/2008, -4/+3haha The one I think might be spam happens to also be the first comment. Coincidence?
- dtfinch, on 03/11/2008, -15/+19The Snap Links extension looks pretty fun.
- aladrin, on 03/11/2008, -8/+28Your middle mouse button is faster and doesn't require an extra plugin loaded all the time.
- Forky, on 03/11/2008, -0/+21but does not give you the ability to open many links with just one drag.
handy if you want to look at images on a ftp or something.- drgmdp, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1it's been so much time since i installed tabmix+ that i don't remember if it's a feature from FF or from the extension, but when i select any amount of links and right-click it shows me an "open links in new tabs" option
- therightclique, on 03/11/2008, -1/+1its definitely not a default feature.
- drgmdp, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1it's been so much time since i installed tabmix+ that i don't remember if it's a feature from FF or from the extension, but when i select any amount of links and right-click it shows me an "open links in new tabs" option
- ostracize, on 03/11/2008, -1/+2I've tried Snap links and found it was more trouble than it was worth. I kept accidentally creating boxes where I shouldn't have. Just middle clicking down the list is just as simple and easier to use.
- Tommyhawk, on 03/11/2008, -0/+7Hah. I just realized you could open a new tab by wheel-clicking a link.
- therightclique, on 03/11/2008, -1/+2hmm.i didn't know about that. snap links still seems infinitely easier.
- Forky, on 03/11/2008, -0/+21but does not give you the ability to open many links with just one drag.
- wvdavis, on 03/11/2008, -1/+14Just downloaded it... this is going to save me tons of time downloading porn!!!
- dtfinch, on 03/12/2008, -0/+3My thoughts exactly. If I'm at xnxx or whatever, I just want to select a full column of links and open all in tabs.
- fxu1989, on 03/11/2008, -0/+28Fission - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/195 ...
- Address bar loads like Safari
Adblock Plus - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/186 ...
- If you don't have this one already .... sigh.
Chatzilla - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/16
- IRC
FireFTP - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/684
- FTP program
FireShot - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/564 ...
- Good for you 4channers & co ... takes screenshots of websites, visible or entire page.
PDF Download - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/636
- Prompts you what to do before opening a PDF .. read as html, open pdf, or cancel
These are the addons I recommend, and that I use.
Rest of the addons are memory-cloggers : ... you download them, use 'em for 1 or 2 days, and forget about them ...- subliminalurge, on 03/11/2008, -0/+7"Rest of the addons are memory-cloggers : ... you download them, use 'em for 1 or 2 days, and forget about them ..."
I wouldn't go that far. Tab Mix Plus seems to do OK on memory, and I use it daily. In fact, I won't even upgrade FF until Tab Mix gets updated to run on the newest version.
I'd also add Google Browser Sync to the list. It not only keeps bookmarks synchronized across multiple computers, but it synchronizes sessions, too. I can have 15 tabs open while I'm at work, shut down FF, and have those same 15 tabs load for me on my browser when I get home. I'm not sure if it's a memory hog or not, but even if it is, it's one I'm willing to live with. - twisterrust, on 03/11/2008, -2/+2thanks
- Toupee, on 03/12/2008, -0/+1Tab Mix Plus
- I don't like using Firefox without it.
Version that works with beta4 and up: http://tmp.garyr.net/tab_mix_plus-dev-build.xpi
(from http://tmp.garyr.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8620)
My other faves:
Yet Another Smooth Scrolling:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/584 ...
This is awesome. It's better than Smoothwheel. You can even have multiple scrolling profiles. Try settings 111, 54, 85, 70... that's what I've been using. Flick your wheel and go for a little ride down the page. Adjust for longer rides. :)
Mouse Gestures
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/39
It should really be standard behavior. Hold your mouse button and move up to make a new tab. Left to go back, right is forward, etc etc fully customizable.
Personas
http://labs.mozilla.com/2007/12/personas-for-firef ...
Easy-ass "skinning" that adds a background to firefox rather than changing the button styles like most themes. Here's a random screenshot I found:http://fochsenhirt.files.wordpress.com/2007/12/per ...
Last but not least, Chromatabs is fantastic. And better than Colorful Tabs, in my opinion, because it assigns a specific color to multiple tabs if they're all part of the same site.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/381 ...
I personally thought the "10 killer extensions" article here was actually a "pretty usual list", but whatever.
- subliminalurge, on 03/11/2008, -0/+7"Rest of the addons are memory-cloggers : ... you download them, use 'em for 1 or 2 days, and forget about them ..."
- wanderingsun, on 03/11/2008, -0/+4I absolutely LOVE FireFTP.
I wish I had found it sooner
- aladrin, on 03/11/2008, -8/+28Your middle mouse button is faster and doesn't require an extra plugin loaded all the time.
- JNudda, on 03/11/2008, -11/+81Only 2,5,7,9 can be described as "Killer" imo. The others (esp the preview ones) seem useless. There are way more useful addons than those.
- aladrin, on 03/11/2008, -7/+14Middle mouse button works better than 2, and the previews are useless for 9.
- therightclique, on 03/11/2008, -1/+1how does it work 'better'? it doesn't even do everything snaplinks does. hence, snaplinks does what it does 'better' than middle mouse.
- TheOther1, on 03/11/2008, -3/+18Perhaps you should write up a review of your 10 favorite "killer" extensions and submit it.
- Modizzle, on 03/11/2008, -1/+12Thanks for putting all that time and effort into telling us there are other more useful addons. You sir, are an asset to humanity.
- picciano, on 03/11/2008, -1/+3You misspelled asshat.
- drgmdp, on 03/11/2008, -0/+8#10 will change your browsing habits
- therightclique, on 03/11/2008, -2/+1i love how stumbleupon is one of the extensions "you probably don't know about". it HAS to be one of THE most well known extensions there is.
- stackered, on 03/11/2008, -0/+3Best extension I have is called: All-In-One Gestures
Once you get the navigation and commands memorized (
- aladrin, on 03/11/2008, -7/+14Middle mouse button works better than 2, and the previews are useless for 9.
- neocognitism, on 03/11/2008, -88/+7Buried for being an overly blatant plug for StumbleUpon.
Why in the world would a digger need to waste time with the frankly inferior StumbleUpon?
Please don't spam like this again.

- Karmavs, on 03/11/2008, -1/+18your Mom loves me too…
- 2shae, on 03/11/2008, -16/+2Stop posting those childish yo Mama comments!
- filefly, on 03/11/2008, -1/+14Your MOM posts childish "yo mama" comments.
- IllBeBack, on 03/11/2008, -1/+2Your mom loved parts of me last night.

- pcgeek101, on 03/11/2008, -2/+3Dugg for usage of *****
- drgmdp, on 03/11/2008, -3/+5you obviously never tried it
also the community is huge - damnmonkey, on 03/11/2008, -2/+3That's some good tattlin' neo.......
- Agger, on 03/12/2008, -0/+1wouldn't StumbleUpon just give me porn links?
- romws, on 03/11/2008, -5/+21EMO
- makkaveli19, on 03/11/2008, -15/+20Snap link seems VERY useful
- sorrow, on 03/11/2008, -2/+24Maybe it would be.. if you couldn't wheel-click and open all the relevant results in new tabs and skip the middle result that you don't want.
- therightclique, on 03/11/2008, -2/+2how do you select all the links at once with the mouse wheel? yeah. that's what i thought. that's why snaplinks is far superior.
- dtfinch, on 03/12/2008, -1/+1Yes, middle clicking a hundred links one at a time is way faster than right dragging across them.
- Rabscuttle, on 03/11/2008, -2/+8i cant see it being too useful, how hard is it to wheel click multiple links?
maybe for porn..... i mean pictures!- DeviateSeptum, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Thank you so much. I never knew about wheel-click. I used to right click and open new tab.
- antdude, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1For me, ctrl and left click.
- DeviateSeptum, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Thank you so much. I never knew about wheel-click. I used to right click and open new tab.
- sorrow, on 03/11/2008, -2/+24Maybe it would be.. if you couldn't wheel-click and open all the relevant results in new tabs and skip the middle result that you don't want.
- davidwasman, on 03/11/2008, -11/+185If by Killer you mean they hinder Firefox's performance, then yes. I have tried most of these extensions in the past and they are all too glitchy and shoot Firefox's memory up massively.
- thecosmicpope, on 03/11/2008, -5/+62Some may be glitchy, but the download bar is far far better than the default download client that FF has.
- wiifm69, on 03/11/2008, -2/+1Also it is rendered useless in FF3
- op12, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Not so. From their project page ( http://downloadstatusbar.mozdev.org/ )
Version 0.9.6 for Firefox 2 and Firefox 3 beta 3 - Released Feb 12, 2008
Nightly testers using Firefox 3 beta 4 : Get Download Statusbar 0.9.6.1 - therightclique, on 03/11/2008, -0/+2well, when FF3 is released and stable, we'll see.
- op12, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Not so. From their project page ( http://downloadstatusbar.mozdev.org/ )
- wiifm69, on 03/11/2008, -2/+1Also it is rendered useless in FF3
- rghai6, on 03/11/2008, -0/+31DownThemAll FTW !
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/201 - zplot, on 03/11/2008, -0/+3Some of these extensions were more visually appealing than productive. Tab Effect didn't do much other than look cool. Others, like Cooliris, tend to be an acquired taste. I found that the Cooliris previews were more inconvenient than productive, but it was worth trying out. Others may find some of these extensions more fitting and then must decide if they are worth sacrificing some of Firefox's performance.
- CoolWind, on 03/11/2008, -2/+1Cooliris is indispensable. One of the best add-ons ever.
- Insomnya3AM, on 03/11/2008, -0/+3For porn.
- moletimer, on 03/11/2008, -0/+2I agree. I installed Tab Effect and it crashed not just Firefox, but my computer. A lot of these addons just slow down Firefox.
- deepcoiler, on 03/11/2008, -1/+1I really don't even care about the extensions, I have been forced to use Camino, as Firefox is slow as hell on my computer, coincidentally because of too many ***** useless extensions
- Voyd, on 03/11/2008, -0/+4So you installed an extension that prevents you from uninstalling the useless extensions?
- Attacus, on 03/11/2008, -0/+3Forced to use Camino? Camino is a top notch browser, less crying please.
- thecosmicpope, on 03/11/2008, -5/+62Some may be glitchy, but the download bar is far far better than the default download client that FF has.
- tonyhartfield, on 03/11/2008, -7/+21i wish PicLens supported linux :(
- atomicwedgie, on 03/11/2008, -3/+3Yep... I realized it didn't a few weeks ago when I tried to install it. *sigh*
- pcgeek101, on 03/11/2008, -13/+4LOL! Best comment ever. I thought Linux was an all-powerful platform? ;-)
- atomicwedgie, on 03/11/2008, -2/+7What in the ***** does that have to do with an app not supporting a particular OS?
- jejones, on 03/11/2008, -2/+8Nothing to do with the platform; it's a matter of the extension writer doing things in a bogus fashion by making it target-dependent. A proper Firefox extension should work no matter what the platform.
- gd1z, on 03/11/2008, -4/+2You're not missing much.
- Amiga500, on 03/11/2008, -6/+4Code it yourself.
- enumerate, on 03/11/2008, -12/+4I already knew about all of these, except for reminder fox, which is quite possibly the most retarded thing I've ever heard of.
- Mikesendker, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Check out Googlepedia. Greatest extension of all time. It's the first one I always install.
- Neticule, on 03/11/2008, -17/+42Wow pic lens is so fun! Just installed it :) cool stuff!
- sorrow, on 03/11/2008, -19/+5I wish i could un-digg your comment, but i hit the wrong button.
- devilwarriors, on 03/11/2008, -2/+1Nice work whit deviantart too..
- niksko, on 03/11/2008, -6/+13Already had download status bar, so I knew about one of them... Half of these are just for the SUPER lazy, and 1 and 8 are just eye candy. Doesn't mean I'm not downloading 1 and 8 as I write this... Overall pretty good though. Might I suggest: Zotero - great if you're in school. Lets you take notes and automatically create bibliographies for pages you visit. Also Web Mail notifier, pretty cool lets you open your inbox with a single click. Foxy tunes - control your fav music player from within firefox. Forecast fox - weather. Net Usage meter - lets you see how much of your download allowance you have used. Adblock - blocks those pesky popups and ads. The digg extension - lets you see the top stories and auto submit stuff to digg. All in one Gestures is not bad - lets you assign simple gestures to common tasks. For me I hold down the right mouse button and then move up and right to change to my next tab.
That's by no means an exhaustive list, but it's just some of the addons I use- xsquirrel378x, on 03/11/2008, -1/+5flashgot? the #1 add-on
- ISIfunded911, on 03/11/2008, -3/+5The extensions that make my browsing happier:
Flashblock, by turning off all flash animations, makes Firefox much more responsive. You can activate any single flash animation/video/window with a single left click.
TabMixPlus is a must for power users who want many more options to manage the tabs very precisely. The latest dev build works with Firefox 3 beta 4: http://tmp.garyr.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7031
NoScript greatly enhances security: you only allow javascript on the sites you trust.
And TrackMeNot makes it much more difficult for google and other search engines to profile you.
And of course AdBlockPlus to get rid of the capitalist pollution. - allhard, on 03/11/2008, -6/+14I can recommend one for you, It is called paragraphs.
- NeoTEKK, on 03/11/2008, -4/+1That made me laugh out loud.
- Ranvier, on 03/11/2008, -4/+5While we're correcting, why did you capitalize "it" in the middle of the sentence?
- Devaney, on 03/11/2008, -2/+1also referred to a plural object, paragraphs, with the singular verb 'is'
- allhard, on 03/12/2008, -1/+1Some very slight grammatical errors like that do not impair somebodies ability to read my comment, but having one large paragraph makes it very difficult to read.
- Remixrio, on 03/11/2008, -5/+6got a few of these, like piclens, hyper words, and snap links, working well so far.
- MagneticIsland, on 03/11/2008, -3/+8The thing I like about this article, is the fact that by clicking on the picture, it automatically gives you the opportunity to download the extensions...
I love Firefox, and this surely makes it even better! - condormcs, on 03/11/2008, -23/+9Firefox is slow enough as it is, and these addons don't really seem like they are very useful either.
- badjoke, on 03/11/2008, -3/+6You don't have to download them then. Firefox is faster than IE anyways. Think about getting some more RAM.
- jazzbeaux, on 03/11/2008, -13/+3Sorry, Bubba...on a 4GB Mac Pro, Firefox opens far slower than either IE or Safari. Render times are actually faster in IE as well, but inconsequentially so.
- drgmdp, on 03/11/2008, -3/+10that doesn't say anything good about mac pros
- allhard, on 03/11/2008, -6/+11Your opinions on software do not count if you own a mac. Macs are for people who cannot understand PC's.
- CoolWind, on 03/11/2008, -2/+1If you have extensions installed, then you should expect Firefox to take longer to load because it's doing more. But when it's finished loading, it will be more powerful, by far, than any other browser.
- Amiga500, on 03/11/2008, -6/+1Firefox is slow, but it runs at Fanboi speed, which is good enough for some.
- jazzbeaux, on 03/11/2008, -13/+3Sorry, Bubba...on a 4GB Mac Pro, Firefox opens far slower than either IE or Safari. Render times are actually faster in IE as well, but inconsequentially so.
- badjoke, on 03/11/2008, -3/+6You don't have to download them then. Firefox is faster than IE anyways. Think about getting some more RAM.
- sandymac, on 03/11/2008, -9/+6shouldn't make assumptions.
- chaos7, on 03/11/2008, -3/+4these are the best imo (the ones i use):
adblock plus, define word, deskcut, downthemall!, file title, find toolbar tweaks, greasemonkey, ie tab, mouse gestures, open link in..., reload every, searchwp, session manager, tiny menu, unread tabs, url link - rayzha, on 03/11/2008, -9/+61No Mouse Gestures? No Gmail Notifier?
What?!- bmw021, on 03/11/2008, -4/+27We already know about those.
- s0u1man, on 03/11/2008, -0/+15Yeah, and we didn't know about StumbleUpon
- Dested, on 03/11/2008, -1/+9Im glad you posted this. For anyone who hasnt installed mouse gestures yet, DO IT.
- aladrin, on 03/11/2008, -0/+4I didn't understand the fuss about mouse gestures until I had used Opera for a while. After that, my biggest complaint about FF was the lack of mouse gestures. It's a definite must-have.
- doshindude, on 03/11/2008, -7/+2No, that extension sucks, I can't understand how the hell to configure it and it doesn't seem to do anything useful.
- Ranvier, on 03/11/2008, -2/+0You obviously don't have a trackball, because I'd be setting off gestures 24/7 while I attempt cure boredom with rolling the ball around.
- vorbalhorde, on 03/11/2008, -4/+3So many people praise Firefox for the mouse gestures extension yet fail to realize that it has been a standard feature of Opera since version 5.10, way back in April 2001.
- Memnochxx, on 03/11/2008, -1/+2Who fails to realize that? Nobody.
- mrASSMAN, on 03/12/2008, -1/+1Yeah.. what's your point, it's added easily with an extension and works just as well in Firefox.
- Jforsyth89, on 03/12/2008, -1/+0No, we praise the mouse gestures extension, not firefox, for adding functionality to firefox. This has absolutely nothing to do with Opera.
- afromonster06, on 03/11/2008, -0/+2Gmail Manager > Gmail Notifier
- pt4117, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Get Stroke It. It's a great Windows program, and you can use program specific mouse gesture in most of your normal programs. The best part is that you can program it to even do some mini macros.
- bmw021, on 03/11/2008, -4/+27We already know about those.
- gullevek, on 03/11/2008, -8/+3410 "kill" addons nobody cares about, but because firefox + killer + addon is in the subject it got dugg.
- LanceUppercut, on 03/11/2008, -0/+3Those words hook into undocumented apis of the digg(TM) algorithm.
- niksko, on 03/11/2008, -2/+4Just found out the hard way that Pic Lens - although it sounds cool - will crash FF3 beta 4. So don't install if you're using the latest and greatest. Also Tab effect wont work, so there goes the two extensions that I actually wanted from there.
- TonyLocNE, on 03/12/2008, -0/+1does anyone know if there is a way to use tab effect with linux without using a crossover? it seems to require directx to run
- wetard57, on 03/11/2008, -1/+3Ive been trying to remember whats the add on that puts a little load bar on the top of each tab could someone help me out?
- Murdats, on 03/11/2008, -0/+8tab mix plus, one of the best firefox plugins around
- LanceUppercut, on 03/11/2008, -4/+1Slamming your head in the ***** fridge.
- xsquirrel378x, on 03/11/2008, -3/+50great. more firefox add-ons that just end up sitting in my browser gathering dust after the novelty wears off
- Entheoddity, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Thats why i only use 3, no reason to have a bunch of ***** you dont use bloating your browser.
- mrASSMAN, on 03/12/2008, -0/+2I use all of my extensions.. the ones I don't use frequently I just disable them until I need it again.
- Seantacular, on 03/11/2008, -0/+10download status is in beta3.
- myass666mlong, on 03/11/2008, -8/+5 Cooliris Previews should be 1
that thing is so cool- hiPpymIck, on 03/11/2008, -1/+3you can preview links in Digg comments without leaving the page - good for SPAM and RickRoll
also you can watch results of a youtube search (again without leaving the search results page)- aladrin, on 03/11/2008, -0/+6There's no difference between watching a preview of a rickroll and just clicking it. You've still been rickrolled since you thought you were going to get something different than you did.
- CoolWind, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Albert Einstein is that you?
- aladrin, on 03/11/2008, -0/+6There's no difference between watching a preview of a rickroll and just clicking it. You've still been rickrolled since you thought you were going to get something different than you did.

- bonjourmr, on 04/25/2008, -3/+6Pic Lens is amazing, get it!
- Murdats, on 03/11/2008, -1/+2makes browsing google images easier, no more open 50 thumbnails, then click open full size another 50 times
now you get a cool 3d hallway of images meaning you can open any full size quickly and easily.- KartNinja, on 03/11/2008, -0/+0Agreed. Works fantastically and saves a lot of time when looking through Flickr pools or image searches.
- Murdats, on 03/11/2008, -1/+2makes browsing google images easier, no more open 50 thumbnails, then click open full size another 50 times

Cooliris: http://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2207
PicLens: http://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5579- pigfister, on 03/11/2008, -0/+5i forgot Tor Button, Doh: http://www.torproject.org/
Flashblock: http://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433 - Murdats, on 03/11/2008, -2/+4"ShowIP"
I much prefer my g15
on the same screen as my ip is my cpu/memory/bandwidth/hdd usage, system volume date and time.- Zaggynl, on 03/11/2008, -1/+1I believe pigfister is referring to his outbound IP (WAN), not his local IP(LAN).
- Murdats, on 03/11/2008, -0/+2I was also refering to outbound WAN IP
not my local IP (I already know that, its static)
- Murdats, on 03/11/2008, -0/+2I was also refering to outbound WAN IP

- kalphegor, on 03/11/2008, -9/+2AdBlock Plus is no good. Try AdBlock instead.
- jacekpoplawski, on 03/11/2008, -1/+3Why do you need User Agent Switcher?
- dorkino, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1To browse the Wii store, of course
- antdude, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1Prefbar!
- pigfister, on 03/11/2008, -0/+5i forgot Tor Button, Doh: http://www.torproject.org/
- VegasJack, on 03/11/2008, -5/+5I only just discovered firefox extensions and I'm hooked. Great article.
- ileftfark, on 03/11/2008, -2/+3I thought you were awesome in "Encino Man"!
- andr3, on 03/11/2008, -4/+1Where's Operator??? :(
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/4106 - silentsirens, on 03/11/2008, -3/+1Good list, Thanks!
- Rotzooi, on 03/11/2008, -1/+37Some more suggestions:
-Allow Right-Click (self-explanatory)
-Bookmark backup (auto-backups not only bookmarks, but ALL of FF's settings, plugins etc)
-BugMeNot (draws login information from BugMeNot's website to avoid those annoying useless website registrations)
-CustomizeGoogle (try it and see that you can, in fact, improve on Google's offerings)
-DownThemAll (leech entire websites or specific types of files)
-Greasemonkey (been named before, but who can live without?!)
-IE View (for those pesky sites that won't display in anything but IE)
-Linkification (very useful, makes clickable links of anything that looks like http, hxxp, h**p, etc, and hasn't been properly linked)
-Linky (opens, if you so wish, masses of links in new tabs or alternatively, downloads them)
-OpenLanguage (spellchecker for dozens of languages)
-Refreshblocker (self-explanatory)
-PDF Download (asks you what to do when you click a PDF file, very handy)
-refspoof (Spoof referrers for sites that are being 'difficult')
-ReloadEvery (opposite of refreshblock)
-Sage (RSS 7 Atom feed aggregator)
-ScrapBook (copy/paste parts of webpage in a really inventive and easy way, including highlighting, adding of notes, etc. Powerful.)
-ScreenGrab! (save the entire length of a website as jpg or png - or parts of it)
I'm too lazy to provide links, but they are all easy to find.- jjremy, on 03/11/2008, -0/+4can you provide a link to that bookmark backup you mentioned? I searched the firefox page but cant find it at all.
- Rotzooi, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1It seems the extension was taken over by Mozilla, as the author's website ( http://www.pikey.me.uk/mozilla/ ) now links to the Firefox download pages.
The current version is 0.4.6 and I can find it in Italian, Polish and German, but annoyingly, not in English.
http://www.google.com/search?aq=-1&oq=&num=50&hl=e ...
It must be in some repository, somewhere. I'll keep looking.

- mGARANDEUR1, on 03/11/2008, -5/+2Another good mod is the 4chan add on.
- charmer, on 03/11/2008, -0/+2Linkification is cool - been looking for something like that for a while now... thanks for the tip
- jjremy, on 03/11/2008, -0/+4can you provide a link to that bookmark backup you mentioned? I searched the firefox page but cant find it at all.
- kaeppler, on 03/11/2008, -5/+2Sweet! Thanks so much! I didn't know any of these...
- MagneticIsland, on 03/11/2008, -4/+0My pleasure
- fxu1989, on 03/11/2008, -6/+1NONE of these ?
My god, do you live in a bubble ?
-_-- IllBeBack, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1It's true, everyone does not know everything that you know. And vice versa.
- mlfoley, on 03/11/2008, -1/+2I love the status bar extension - I've been using it forever, it's the greatest.
- gravityPersists, on 03/11/2008, -2/+1iMacros is a great one I've found recently. It's brilliant for doing repetitive tasks. You can record your actions in order to repeat it.
And of course, greasemonkey! - rusticdog, on 03/11/2008, -2/+1Interclue is a great one www.interclue.com
- jasonhdavis, on 03/11/2008, -1/+2Picked up Tab Scope, hopefully it will make using so many tabs a little less cumbersome.
- adooga, on 03/11/2008, -3/+1Pretty, pretty, pretty good....
- shavenlunatic, on 03/11/2008, -3/+21"10 Killer Firefox Extensions You Probably Don’t Know About"
Which parallel universe do you have to come from to have "probably" not heard of stumble??
Other than that, nice list- weeeezzll, on 03/11/2008, -1/+7And "Download Statusbar"? It hardly fits the "Probably never heard of it" category
- moletimer, on 03/11/2008, -0/+2And Cooliris. In fact, most of these I've not just heard of, but tried, and eventually uninstalled. I'm sure many other Firefox users will have done the same.
- tedhead2k, on 03/11/2008, -1/+1I come from the universe of "reality". It's a magical place where only a select few even know of Firefox let alone all the extensions available for it.
- shavenlunatic, on 03/14/2008, -0/+1cmon, you have to have been living in a very deep hole to have not have heard of firefox.. seriously
- peterredding, on 03/11/2008, -0/+121 killed my Firefox so at least the title is accurate.
- Lawrencesss, on 03/11/2008, -4/+6Piclens just made masturbating 10 times cooler.
- allhard, on 03/11/2008, -0/+6Lawrence, I do not think immortalizing that statement in the Digg comments was a good idea.
- mddawso, on 03/11/2008, -0/+3how cool was it earlier?
- allhard, on 03/12/2008, -0/+1Divide its current coolness by 10.
- moletimer, on 03/11/2008, -0/+3Too. Much. Information.
- thejynxed, on 03/11/2008, -2/+0refspoof and IETab are very useful when dealing with Microsoft.com websites. MS has the extremely annoying habit of throwing up error pages saying "This page can not be found" when going to certain parts of TechNet, Downloads, etc. when browsing in Firefox. Of course, this is by design on their part....
- chrismgtis, on 03/11/2008, -0/+2I don't like some of these. Cooliris just ended up annoying me when I tried it a while back.
- sumeshpremraj, on 03/11/2008, -3/+15WARNING: This post is (mostly) a rip of http://www.killertechtips.com/2008/03/07/best-usef ... that was on digg a few days back. Even the title is similar.
- FecalHurler, on 03/11/2008, -0/+2WARNING: You need to relax.
- spiritditch, on 03/11/2008, -6/+1You don't know ***** about these extensions. But that's why you're here, isn't it?
- ifnotme, on 03/11/2008, -3/+12A blatant rip off of: http://www.killertechtips.com/2008/03/07/best-usef ... (which was in the upcoming section today)
- DivisibleByZero, on 03/11/2008, -2/+8Why use SnapLinks? Do you people not have a middle button? I mean, sure a click n' drag operation can be slightly faster than 3 or 4 middle clicks, but what if there's 3 links you want to go to with one that you don't want in the middle of them?
- Ukonu, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1What if there's 20 links and you want all of them?
- ism70605, on 03/11/2008, -2/+1"Killer"... I didn't know there was a ReiserFS plugin for Firefox.
- DanceMaster69, on 03/11/2008, -0/+2Is it just me or does this not make sense? There are two options here, either I'm an idiot, or this is just a bad joke.... Maybe both.
- mikehill33, on 03/11/2008, -3/+2These mainly suck.
- Natalinna, on 03/11/2008, -2/+3bleh, for me one of the best extensions for FF (at the moment) is Vertigo 5.0, as far as i know it's the only addon that lets you have vertiacl tabs (like Opera has by default)
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/134 ...
ps: i'm not completely satisfied with it only because it doesn't let me open new tabs on double click.- ileftfark, on 03/11/2008, -5/+3So tweak the code or STFU... I hate people bawwwing over ***** that they got completely free.
- Natalinna, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1i bet that you're one of those ppl who are "bawwwing" over microsoft software they downloaded from torrent...
- mddawso, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1i dont know that I would ever need to have enough tabs open to need this.
- Saske, on 03/11/2008, -0/+1I prefer Tree Style Tab - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/589 ...
- ileftfark, on 03/11/2008, -5/+3So tweak the code or STFU... I hate people bawwwing over ***** that they got completely free.
- jattea, on 03/11/2008, -1/+1I love Snaplinks, I use it all the time, but I find it to be very buggy (sometimes it will stop working after +/- 10 tabs are opened), sometimes it won't catch the link even though it's clearly included in the dotted rectangle... I was hoping there was a similar, but less buggy version of this somewhere.
- Lancer28, on 03/11/2008, -1/+7I probably do know about these.... The same article was on Digg last week.
- bigpeeler, on 03/11/2008, -1/+2...and next week...and the week after that...ad nauseum.
