Not to put flash on the iPhone must be the worst decision ever made. This is shocking. Someone should be fired over this. - dssstrkl, on 03/05/2008, -0/+1Scoble's just talking out of his ass. Again. Just because Nokia wants to booger up S60 with Silverlight, doesn't mean that Apple needs to get a me too announcement in by adopting flash, especially if it sucks on the iPhone. Considering how ***** Adobe products tend to be on OS X, I think its Adobe that needs a lesson in civics, not Apple.
(And I'm saying that as an Adobe customer who shells out [lots of] real money for their products, so I expect them to work properly on every platform they support) - MikeonTV, on 03/05/2008, -0/+1Whu Whu What?
- decet, on 03/06/2008, -0/+1IIRC Jobs stated that the full Flash player is too heavy for the iPhone, and that a trimmed-down version is needed. Decoding Flash video requires more computing power than many other formats (e.g. MPEG-4), which means shorter battery life. Adobe has some homework to do before Flash is mean and lean enough.
