BTW, I don't think it's an experiment of digg's staff. They surely could do it on some offline testing platform or something like that.

  edit: as Jisan says, they wouldnt do this "live" - i could imagine they have an internal digg playground site for testing features/checking for bugs

- DigDugDigger, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Someone is going (or went) around digging an insane amount of stories which resulted in a big yellow dot on Digg Swarm. It's likely it can be casued from:
  1. The Digg team is testing the Digg code to see how far they can push the GUI before it breaks (like when the iPhone story got 10k diggs) - but most sites don't test code tweaks in a 'live' or 'production' enviorment.
  2. Someone wrote a piece of software that goes around digging everything, basically being an attention whore.
  
  Really no need to read the article unless you want to see the picture, that's really all it boils down to. They also think their story will somehow disappear as the Digg illuminati is frightened by people taking screenshots of Digg Swarm doing as it was designed to do... lol.
