Man gets probation, $2,300 fine for submitting Digg story
blog.mlive.com — Phillip Hullquist maintained he just wanted back his stolen camcorder. He asked Digg users for help, posting personal information about the woman he says stole it from him. The Digg mob answered, and now the 24-year-old is pleading no contest to unlawful posting of a message, a two-year misdemeanor.

- whaler, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1At the end of the sentencing, 'cyberbully victim' Amanda Brunzell turns to Hullquist and says, ""I hope you die a long and slow and painful death and, when you do, remember that is what I almost went through because of your carelessness and ignorance."
- whaler, on 06/18/2008, -0/+1Also sad: Hullquist's fine is higher than the $2,000 he says he paid for the camcorder.
- Senatormattlock, on 06/19/2008, -0/+0I dunno about the rest of the digg community but I for one hate to see the little guy get stuck by some butch thief... there should be a new digg story "DiggNation Unites to pay a wounded digg soldier's restitution." Ive got 10 bucks I would throw in for the cause!
