socialmediafreeforall.blogspot… — June has been a particularly interesting month as both Digg and Mixx have come out with fairly big upgrades. Digg just put their beta recommendation engine out for use and feedback, and Mixx added a whole new level of community building tools to the site. Read on for more thoughts.

- granolajoe, on 07/03/2008, -0/+1Too bad that the users with most activity and lists of contacts on Mixx are those who have no idea about social media and just submit every freaking story imaginable. I have someone on my list that just copies headlines straight from news stories, not even bothering to remove the publication's name, a few words, and submits them. He's like your very own news reader. Just takes every story and submits it, no matter if it's compelling or not. And he's not the only person that does that.
- jimmaculate, on 07/03/2008, -0/+1Actually, that's because of how the submission function on Mixx works. It automatically grabs the title and synopsis from the site. That way for less inspired people, they don't have to come up with a title. I usually change the title to something more catchy, but that's just me.
- granolajoe, on 07/03/2008, -0/+1I know that's how it works. But in this case, it underlines how this guy just copies/pastes every story possible with the least amount of changes so he can move on to the next one and keep increasing his karma, because he's going to get mindless votes without even trying.

- canewediggit, on 07/03/2008, -0/+1this is about as much of a rivalry as deshawn and lebron, soldier boy and jay-z, and the generals and the globetrotters.
