- capajc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4What the hell kind of school name is that? Sounds like a place where the teachers have porn on their systems.
- bizzay, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@ capajc
LOL. I wonder what their mascot is. - Kiba, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That teacher is one nasty lady...
- burke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3let me be the first to say... "St Francis of Assisi Humpty Doo"... What the Fsck?
- Henley24, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Humpty Doo" is actually the name of the town...
I don't have any witty punchline, just shock at the strangest town name ever. - positron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5People named the town Humpty Doo, the catholic school teacher keeps porno screensavers on her school computer, and these kids got suspended? give me a ***** break.
- weesee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2the teacher should be fired and the kids have charges dropped
- melodramatic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7could have been worse. Could have been real pictures taken from the teacher's visit to Germany where he enjoyed companionship with several midgets of both genders, before attending the naked fat people association of Germany's annual mud-wrestling event.
- cypher35, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2lol
The principal called the kids "hackers"...
So guessing the name of the teacher's car of chice constitutes "hacking" now??? It even asked the ***** question... what kind of security is that?? - forman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Blargh. I visited the linked site using Safari and was unable to read the text due to a strange formatting bug. Those MSN coders really have a tough job. They have to design a web page that not only looks good in MSIE but is broken in other browsers.
- Abatrour, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The article said they had permission to use her computer, how is that hacking?
- antiTRACE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hey, no one bitched about the guys who did the same thing "hacking" into websites with username root, password=password - so illegal entry into a computer is illegal entry into a computer. I'm not saying it's right, it's not, but where are all the "The law is the law!" people now?
- antiTRACE, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0@forman - safari sucks, use firefox :-)
- nativeraver, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2hmm... so the catholic church just doesn't condone gay men or is it both women and men?
:-?
hmm. - thad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1First-what the hell were the kids doing on her laptop?
Second- what the hell is she doing with porn? - Sirocco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hey, at least it wasn't pictures of naked men posing for the annual goatse.cx calendar!
- h0dg3s, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0So don't use macintrash.
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I love this....
"But the boys parents say the teacher, who was in the classroom at the time of the incident, let the students use her laptop.
"The teacher's personal laptop was locked at the time and the school has a clear policy on illegal computer access and the boys were suspended from school," he said."
so his logic is I give someone my key chain, and they figure out what key opens and starts the car, I can charge them with grand thieft auto and have them thrown in prison? - equanimous, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The kid hack a computer to look at naked girls who can blame him that ;-)
But what is a female teacher doing with naked girls on her computer ? - BETA7, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0LMFAO when i was in gr 7 they showed us movies with ppl ***** lol they figured that if they teach us about it we wont ***** up and go ***** with some idiot that has aids and ***** grow up people god today's world is different then 50 dam years ago nothing is censored anymore sheesh ohh no they saw a grown woman posing naked in a pornographic stance, be glad that dam teacher didnt have kiddy porn and btw the teacher was a lez. Pwned :P
- penguinboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0@ forman: I am reading the article in Safari, it works perfectly fine. It must be your computer.
- BETA7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0speaking of which i think they had a bigger problem with her being a lezbian then the kids seeing the image its just that they took advantage of the situation to fire her...
- moonshine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i think there should be consequences for the kids going onto a locked computer, but not suspension nor using the word "hacking."
but i think there should be bigger consequences for the teacher than what she got. she is what the law calls a "person of trust." what makes it even worse is that she's teaching at a catholic school. where are her values? but no matter what her personal life looks like, she should not be bringing it into the classroom. i think she should have been suspended, if not let go. - zodiacal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0they were suspended, not expelled. it doesn't seem like the parent knows the difference.
- madeingermany, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What ***** is this?
"typing in a password that brought up a screen saver"
Hello? The computers I'm using want me to type a password to deactivate a screensaver, it activates on its own ;) - RandomSkratch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@madeingermany
I was going to post the exact same thing!
"hold on 2 minutes guys, I gotta activate my screensaver"
Something's not right here. - Bren, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah... how many computers ask you what kind of car you drive to unlock??
Personally, all of mine ask "username" and then "password"
Something smells funny... - loup, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0For those of you commenting on this:
"But the boys parents say the teacher, who was in the classroom at the time of the incident, let the students use her laptop."
Keep in mind that it's the boys' parents that are saying thing, not the teacher. Just because the parents are claiming this doesn't make it true. - splitsixty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0a slow news day indeed!
- opus20745, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0please proof-read before posting:
"'s" indicates ownership of the screensaver by the teacher. It wasn't a screensaver about multiple teachers. - gbm85, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So if I my email password is "password" then it's no longer illegal to use my account without permission, because it's easy to figure out?
- vypergts, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0That's retarded. Sounds like the students didn't do anything wrong. I started boycotting catholicism after my high school fired a teacher for being gay...this just confirms that they are consistently stupid.
- dogbyte_13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0im suprised that Sex or God wasn't her password
- Gringo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hmmmm...sounds like the teacher was trolling for some young boy action. Imagine this, female teacher with naked women on her pc and allowing high school boys access to it.
They could of gotten friggin' lucky if the virgen in the group hadn't told his parents about it. lol - sctechguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0@beta7
Punctuation and grammar are your friends...don't fear them. - BadMammaJamma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It was a women teacher with female Pr0n. sweet.
- Grandfinale1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I had a teacher let me use their laptop before, and I too have found porn on the computer. I told friends and other students, but their was no big deal about it. It was mainly an inside school joke.
What the ***** ideed. "St Francis of Assisi Humpty Doo" - griz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If it asked a question, my guess is that it was the Password Hint. This only comes up after 3 unsuccessful attempts. That would certainly constitute hacking.
As for it being a screen saver, my guess is that it is a desktop picture. Or it is also possible that they got into it and immediately, accidentally, threw the cursor into a hot corner that activated the screen saver.
Something does appear a little off. My guess is that it was the school administration that gave the story to the press and in their lack of technical prowess botched the story. - Sizzor, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0St Francis of Assisi Humpty Doo
You can bet they don't sell many school t-shirts.
http://www.sizzor.net - ethos42, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If it was a dialog to unlock the computer then the "Screensaver" was really a wallpaper. Can we please get this through our heads? It's a pretty simple distinction. A screensaver keeps the screen from burn in. A wallpaper is the desktop background.
Simple right? - griz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Not for the administrators of a school from Dumpty Doo.
- dggeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This story sounds made-up. There are contradictions and very little information.
- ashevilletech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Where is the link to the picture/screen saver?
- craigtheguru, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This article was overly vague and the entire situation is not clear. Also, perhaps it was the kids who installed the desktop/screensaver to begin with. If it was the teacher who was running it at school, he/she should be in serious trouble. If the kids were given permission to use the computer and only used it for work, they should be fine.
- griz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Probably their way of calling attention to and demonizing the fact that she was a lesbian without actually coming out and saying "Lesbian"=A ONE WAY TICKET TO HELL.
- laughterkillsme, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Entire story is funny, eitherway ... if the teacher brought the laptop into a classroom and there was pornography on it than it's no different than having a suitcase full of playboys with the code "12345" to open it.
- hyperation, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No offense, but in a Catholic school, things get more serious than it supposed to be.
- Rbp7Ooz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0There is nothing wrong with a female teacher having naked female pictures on her desktop, that can't be fixed by what right with a female teacher having naked pictures no her desktop.
even more so if the teacher is good looking.
The only thing I can find wrong with it... is where where these teachers when I was in school!!!????!!!?? - digitarius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Kinda reminds me of being in HS a couple of years ago... the typing class I was in was joined to another classroom also teaching typing by a door I sat by.. my buddy in the other class sat by the door on the other side. I taught him how to use Winpopup on those old 98 machines to do some basic communication... he taught most of the guys in the adjacent class and somehow, a big "***** YOU BUDDY!" Accidentally got sent to the Principal's comp (Think he was on the same workgroup or something, I dunno)
Anyway, bunch of people got busted in the other class for it, and my buddy lost his comp priveledges for the year... never incriminated me, though! Helluva guy!
Ah, such were teh days before Meebo... - camtech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"My son has gone to this school all his school life and it now has to end like this for him."
Gimmie a break, he's suspended, which is when you can't go to school for a few days, not expelled from all schools everywhere. -
