The Brilliance of Digg Spy - Our Greatest Community Feature
thesocialbookmarker.com — Digg's original, real-time tracking page, Digg Spy, is one of the best and probably most overlooked ways to use the site. You can get a huge feel for the community from watching diggspy. User habits, hidden gems, new friends, bury brigade activity, URLs, agendas, speed...it's all there.
- 623 diggs
- digg it
- MtheoryX, on 11/13/2007, -2/+21I didn't even know they had this feature. Very cool.
I can just sit and watch for a couple minutes and fill up 10-15 FF tabs. I would say this would raise my productivity...but im on digg, so really its only going to make things worse for me.
Dugg for the explanation though. - cypher303, on 11/12/2007, -6/+14Thanks for turning me onto this! I see what you mean about the Ronbots... if you watch digg spy for a minute, you'll see the same people digg up multiple Ron Paul articles within seconds of eachother - obviously not reading them. It would be really easy to take advantage of people like that by submitting stories that claim to be pro Ron Paul but are in fact not.
- tomboy501, on 11/12/2007, -6/+5Unfortunately, the Ron Paul bots have ruined diggspy in some ways. It's all you see go by sometimes...especially the past week or so. At least you can see the stories mostly being buried..there's hope.
- ddiggler08, on 11/12/2007, -1/+12You gave away the secret...
- HouseFan, on 11/12/2007, -9/+6We need a 'Ron Paul' section next to 'Taser' and 'LOL cat photos'.
- benroy, on 11/13/2007, -2/+3i thought i was alone.
- IShouldBeWorkin, on 11/12/2007, -0/+9As if i didnt spend ENOUGH time looking through digg....this is going to consume my life now....THANKS
- kleevr, on 11/12/2007, -0/+9Wow, now if I could get this feed put into a horizontal ticker running on the bottom of my star trek visors I could finally be one with the internet!
- DEEZED, on 11/12/2007, -3/+7Wow Digg Spy? I just found out that Digg had user profiles!!!!1
- robbh66, on 11/13/2007, -1/+5I'll trade this "brilliance" for a comment system that works in a heart beat.
- bobtcat, on 11/12/2007, -2/+5I wish it showed 'who' in the burying category too.
- Pacificblue, on 11/12/2007, -1/+10Proves we like eavesdropping...
- rjprux, on 11/12/2007, -0/+7wow, i just found myself staring at the screen without blinking for a half hour
- twrife, on 11/12/2007, -0/+1There is also an add on for vBulletin base off of this that does the same thing and is pretty cool
- identifiedlogo, on 11/12/2007, -1/+4"Genearl Bury" doesnt like Ron Paul...that seems to be the consensus...
- mace2, on 11/12/2007, -0/+1"ahuxley" seems to... a lot...
- cypher303, on 11/12/2007, -1/+2All salute General Bury!
- tomwhughes, on 11/12/2007, -0/+2haha I forgot about this - too much of a procrastination tool for me!
(I used to me a hardcore digger, but now im just a frontpage peruser) - thorn101, on 11/12/2007, -1/+3My boss hates you.
- ParticleMan420, on 11/12/2007, -3/+5i never understood the 'social' part of the site.
i dont come here to find out what other people want/dont want to read. i dont come to make friends, i come to read news stories (which seem to be few and far between, stuck between 30 ron paul, apple, ubuntu articles.
i also come for the comments, but i dont want to be your friend, i want to talk ***** about stupid articles and stupid comments.
why would i want to watch people submitting, digging, burrying things. all that would do it piss me off, due to the rediculous people that abuse the system. - yilinting, on 11/12/2007, -8/+0Really? It have such kinds of features. It is a good news for me. A few days ago I found an website SugarmommyMeet.com, I made a lot of friends there. Now I become more interested in website.
- phiend, on 11/12/2007, -0/+2spy is all i use
- victrola, on 11/12/2007, -0/+3Wow, some people really dedicate their lives to burying stories about presidential candidates - ten general buries about the same candidate in just over a minute - looks like somebody did a search! :0
- ekim2484, on 11/12/2007, -1/+0It is a great feature. Except my screen is constantly flooded with Ron Paul stories.
- Zedizdead, on 11/12/2007, -1/+1It really goes to show how many folks on digg are sick or Ron Paul. You think a lot of Ron Paul stories make it to the front page, you should see how much gets buried. It's like one after the other. Also stories with any kind of conservative viewpoint.
- rinkjustice, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2To paraphrase Stephen King: "I have seen the future, and it's name is Digg Spy" I have a feeling Digg Spy is going to be absolutely huge. Slashdot, are you listening?!
- perot9296, on 11/13/2007, -0/+0Its been around since 2005, not sure why its news, oh well, wont digg and wont bury
