CBS cancels 'Jericho,' two others
variety.com — CBS has apparently nuked "Jericho," dismissed "Class" and closed the book on "Close to Home." Net wasn't commenting Tuesday, but several people familiar with the situation said none of the skeins has been given a series order for next season.

What the hell are they making room for, CSI: Gary?- donwilson2, on 10/11/2007, -34/+1I've got The Office finale this week and Always Sunny in Philly in June, so I couldn't care less aboutthis non-news article.
- bushawa, on 10/11/2007, -7/+143WTF Jericho is freaking awesome! I hate this. The cancel all the good shows and run all these crap shows! Nothing but gilmore girl mindless CRAP!
- donwilson2, on 10/11/2007, -17/+2bushawa, the series finale was tonight.
- NicksVideo, on 10/11/2007, -3/+59The really dropped the bomb this time.
- aywwts4, on 10/11/2007, -2/+23Gilmore Girls got canceled too. So really, nothing left but autopsy shows.
- KhyberPass, on 10/11/2007, -3/+62Hopefully, someone will cancel CBS soon.
- foolfromhell, on 10/11/2007, -8/+19"The really dropped the bomb this time."
They the ones who dropped the bombs in Jericho??? - AhrenBa, on 10/11/2007, -1/+44Dang, that is really too bad. I actually was into Jericho quite a bit. I have to agree that the acting was pretty bad, but the story line always kept me interested. I wish they would keep it going for another season or two!
- AndrewJC, on 10/11/2007, -22/+6Anybody who thinks that Gilmore Girls is "mindless crap" really has no idea about good writing. Obviously, the ideas of character development and emotional investment are foreign to you.
- xptical, on 10/11/2007, -9/+33Jericho was doomed to failure. They took an awesome concept and turned it over to CRAP writers. Tie dialog in that show makes me cringe.
- Eldorian, on 10/11/2007, -11/+30Jericho was a cool show for the first 4 or 5 episodes of the season. And then it became a really bad soap opera that I ceased to watch.
The took a cool idea and hired ***** writers. - caketank, on 10/11/2007, -5/+17Those who think Gilmore Girls exemplifies good writing need to crack a damn book-- and not one of those books from some 28-book series about dragons or babysitters, an actual work of literature. Gilmore Girls is pap.
There's nothing wrong with enjoying trash-- I enjoyed Jericho a lot, and that was some badly written, mostly-worthless garbage. No need to put on airs. - TheCash, on 10/11/2007, -5/+3WTF is a 'skein'?
- virtualball, on 10/11/2007, -5/+4About time!!!!!
(About the Class) - TheCash, on 10/11/2007, -3/+18This has got to be the most poorly written article I have ever read.
'Sked' must me schedule, but 'net' instead of 'the network,' and 'eye' instead of cbs? Why not just go the whole way down the teenager text/IM route, and throw in 'Jerico bombz, pwned lolz' and 'How I Your Momz FTW!'
Variety has either begun outsourcing to High School newspapers, or they failed to notice a few of their staff writers' diploma's were done in crayon.
None of this is confirmed either, so don't hang yourselves yet. - defectDS, on 10/11/2007, -13/+3I must be the only one that thought Jericho was horribly slow and boring. I mean, a nuke drops and explodes the world and all they're worrying about is who stole the soda from Mr. Jenkin's corner store! I couldn't get past the first season. Although I head the second season was improving, I saw it as more of a daytime drama than an action-y drama. Eh.
- bdh008, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15CSI: Jericho
- knuckles, on 10/11/2007, -1/+28Damn, I really liked Jericho. Looks like CBS has been hanging around with FOX too much.
- reeder, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Must be making room for another cop, medical, or lawyer drama. Great...
***** Network execs suck from the ass of mediocrity. - darkmule, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9Ehm, Gilmore Girls wasn't that bad of a show, though I didn't follow it entirely through (being it no longer airs in my area). It had a very different writing style, which made it one of those shows that was kind of at par with Scrubs, in terms of unique humor.
Jericho on the other hand was a pretty good show. CNN just had a nice article about how popular the show has become, and how Robert became just as important of a character as Jake. Since no solid reason was given in the article for them to 'cancel' the show, and it was clearly popular. I'll be willing to bet it made some government offices feel a little uncomfortable since the show scenario was a tad 'realistic'.
If only Rev3 could pick it up... :p - mysterioushouse, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Gilmore Girls was on a completely different network (the CW) and it was canceled anyways.
My take is that CBS is suffering an embarrassment of riches, and something had to go. I really liked Jericho, and I've still got fingers crossed that it gets a sudden renewal at the upfront. - bupublue, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7This is a direct quote from the "Ask the Producers" section of the official Jericho message boards:
Question:
Future of Show
Is episode 23 the season finale, or the series finale?
Producer's Response:
Episode 22, entitled “Why We Fight,” is most definitely not a series finale! In fact, by the time it’s over, you’ll have some great clues about where our story is headed in its second season.
"Most definitely not," they say. So either they're lying or the folks at Variety don't know what the hell they're talking about. Either is possible, but the Variety article did seem suspect, because the only source they cited was "people familiar with the situation." - dvrchatter, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10@TheCash: Variety articles have been written in their own shorthand jargon for about the past 100 years.
- AfterbrthTycoon, on 10/11/2007, -14/+1Thank God. Jericho was just awful. Horrible acting that made me cringe. They should have called it "a soap opera for guys not quite yet out of the closet"
- xNaquada, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11WTF Why in the world would they cancel Jericho? Why dont they change their name from CBS to CSI.
FFS! - jdog2050, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8I'll tell you what, if you think Jericho sucked, skip to like, the last 6 episodes--quality entertainment; it really picked up the ball after Lost dropped it.
- marvy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Agreed. Jericho started off kind of clichéd (save the schoolbus kids), but then really picked up. I thought the writing and acting was fantastic. I can't agree that some of you found it to be a typical soap. I thought the situations felt very authentic. I also can't agree you found the acting to be so bad. I especially like the character of Jake's mother. I think she did an incredible job of playing the "bitter mom", without overdoing it too much.
Aaaaanyway, I really hope they change their minds. I really really liked this series. Hope it doesn't take the same path Firefly did. - joehobbes, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Gilmore Girls isn't exactly getting cancelled --- it's on its 7th season -- that's a pretty good run.
All the characters are entering a new phase in their life, so it only makes sense. - IheartZombies, on 10/11/2007, -0/+19Nuts.
- sjbdallas, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Yeah, they really turned things around by the last few episodes. I was getting bored with it after the first 3 (all the soapy crap) but I stuck with it and it came through. They should cancel CSI:NY instead of Jericho, it's a copy of a copy and sucks.
Close to Home i feel suffered because there are just too many cop shows. - Xzisted, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Sign the petition and help save it!

Autopsy shows and Reality TV. Yawn. - mdhauke, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This is why I never invest the time to get into new shows anymore. Every time I get into one, they cancel them. These networks can ***** off and continue their slow death into oblivious for all I care.
- psitech, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Please sign this petition. It's already larger than the one previously posted. CBS gets a big "NUTS" from me.

- Bootes, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Noooo! :( I now have nothing left to watch on CBS. Why do I have to get the best signal OTA on a channel that airs nothing buy CSI. :(
- gl77, on 03/31/2008, -6/+11---looks intensely into nowhere and says in a low pitch monotonous tone "now that's what I call.....................coroner-ing the market." ----puts sunglasses on, turns and quickly walks away as peter frampton's scream kicks in the intro to the song "won't get fooled again"
- igraham09, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9@hcaulfield
"Won't Get Fooled Again" was written by The Who... Peter Frampton wasn't in The Who. - igraham09, on 10/11/2007, -11/+1@hcaulfield
"Won't Get Fooled Again" was written by The Who...
Peter Frampton wasn't in The Who - igraham09, on 10/11/2007, -10/+1*****... double (now triple) post. bury one of those, and this one please. thanks.
- gl77, on 03/31/2008, -0/+5oh man you're right....i always get peter frampton confused with being in the who.......i think it's my habit of mixing up the names peter frampton and pete townshend........i stand corrected...it was Roger Daltrey's scream.......
- snapaw, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Yeah... CSI Anal.. Stupid CBS, what are their thinking,Jericho was the best.. that'll be the last I lost Jericho
- dwcarless, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10CBS is insane. :(
They just lost me as a viewer of their network, and I also happen to be in that coveted 18-49 demographic. Looks like I will be turing to NBC for my seriealized drama. - alasjericho, on 10/11/2007, -0/+28Truly a dissapointing day for fans of this cutting edge show. If you read the Jericho board at CBS, you will find that most of the fans ONLY tune in for this and maybe one or two other shows. The reason... because for once network tv gave us a program that was not about doctors, police or a combination of the two. Finally, a unique program - but they blew it! CBS is walking on a truly unique opportunity for what? Zombies!!!
- SoxFanNH, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Typical, remove the good shows and come with some Caveman and Carpoolers crap...
- baskil, on 10/11/2007, -0/+31Some other channel needs to make a deal and snatch Jericho up if this is true. The quality improvement over the course of the season was one of epic proportions. Even if people aren't watching as much as they did when the show started, this show could be helped by word of mouth and internet buzz if CBS or whatever network wants it let the writers and producers do their thing. HBO has a lack of hits at the moment. Turn this show a bit grittier, pare it down to shorter season lengths, and put it on a weekend night.
- jadie8, on 10/11/2007, -0/+31I'm boycotting CBS and not turning in that network anymore. This was the only show that had any merit in my book. I'm so tired of reality shows and stupid sitcoms. There are enough of them on TV and Jericho was fresh and something different. This show keep me glued week after week and now I'm left with nothing. This goes to show you that the people in the networks don't care about quality TV. All they see are dollar signs. For once why can't someone go against the norm and make a stand for something different. CBS is weak in my book and afraid to give another chance to a show that has a very loyal fan base. I hope that shows they picked up are flops because I won't support them. They already had tons of support for Jericho. It was CBS fault for the long hiatus so they should face up to that mistake and give Jericho the chance it deserves to gain more speed. If they would have given it one more season then the fans could have helped out in spreading the word to family and friends. I believe the ratings would have gone up with one more season. I'm not even going to wish CBS good luck-just goodbye!
- bugninja, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I agree. Why on earth would ANYONE start watching a new show on CBS? It'll be gone in a season. I was seriously in to Jericho, thought it was a great show. This is a shame.
- btgoss, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I wish CBS, and the rest of the networks would learn that you can't expect shows to thrive with such long breaks. It is a shame that FOX has been the only network to realize this, and even that was only for 24.
I just hope someone else picks up Jericho, perhaps in syndication? Or maybe USA?
- Qkidmom, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9I'm with you this was an innovative show that CBS killed itself when it took the hiatus mid season. I am sooooo sick of sitcoms and "reality" tv and loved the original thought that went into this. I think it was off to a great start and deserves a second season - I hope CBS reconsiders or one of the other networks picks it up. Sorry CBS but another viewer goes bye bye.
- bytor4232, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Agreed. The same thing happened to Lost and Heroes. What is ABC and NBC doing to alleviate this mistake? Why, they are NOT taking mid season breaks!!! Duh! What does CBS do? Jump the gun, and cancel the show because of their own mistake. CBS should have exercised patience and gave Jericho time to recover.
Oh well, that was the one and only show I watched on CBS anyway. I mostly watch FOX and NBC, and a few shows on ABC (Lost and Boston Legal plus Eli Stone in the fall). I'm in that coveted 18-49 demographic, and CBS lost it. They must not like youthful viewers with tons of disposable income. Advertisers REALLY hate that you know.
- bytor4232, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Agreed. The same thing happened to Lost and Heroes. What is ABC and NBC doing to alleviate this mistake? Why, they are NOT taking mid season breaks!!! Duh! - saeedc, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11This is an outrage!
If this show is truely being cancelled CBS will never air on my television again.... - swenciler, on 10/11/2007, -2/+27There are no other shows anywhere like Jericho. I will not watch any show on CBS ever again. I even made a point to buy the products that were advertised on this show. These sponsors have now lost my business also.
Jericho made me look forward to Wed. night. I will not look forward to it anymore.
We needed a conclusion-there are so many questions left unanswered.
I just wish Jericho could have been spared!- Dumbledorito, on 10/11/2007, -16/+4I'm sorry, but Jericho was the apocalypse by way of the Hallmark Channel. It was pap. The characters spent too much time at the magical bar that never ran out of booze between times where they rallied together and found the true meaning of community... again.
The writers were morons. The episode where they were going to blow up the "only" bridge into town was where I gave up. What, they're on the only mesa in Kansas? And the mercs ignored that they were driving vehicles designed for off-road conditions?
This show wanted to be "Lost" with nukes. "The Day After" was more compelling than this melodrama where radiation and civilization being lost was overlooked so we could have a hackneyed love triangle or three. When the best actor is "Mayor Dad," you know your show is doomed.
Want good post-apocalypse TV? Go rent the first season and half of season 2 of "Jeremiah." - caketank, on 10/11/2007, -14/+3@Dumbledorito:
Yeah, Jericho was crap, for all the reasons you gave and more. It was so bad it nearly lost me at some point in every episode. I won't shed any tears for it. But still... I was watching that, damn it.
Thanks for the Jeremiah rec. I'll find me some. - Dumbledorito, on 10/11/2007, -7/+2@caketank: It's very good, up until mid-season 2. That's when the head writer was told the show was being canceled and had to resolve a big arc that should have gone at least one more season.
But it was Showtime, so you get boobies and cussin' along with a solid storyline. It had a very "The Stand" vibe. - anonym41414, on 10/11/2007, -8/+2You are absolutely, 100% right. I can't think of a better way to describe it than your "Hallmark channel" remark.
"Jericho" could have been a really strong story in the post-apocalyptic-survival genre, a sort of "Alas, Babylon" writ large and with the twist that only the USA was affected while the rest of the world was untouched. Instead, it was a lowest-common-denominator action drama that ended up just not making a whole hell of a lot of sense. I didn't watch much after the first handful of episodes, and not at all after the hiatus, but did they ever go back and touch on the EMP plot point, or the ICBMs plot point? Or did those just get dropped on the floor?
And the whole thing with the big mystery? Sorry, folks. I just wasn't interested. It would have been a more entertaining show, for me personally, if the mystery element had been dropped and the audience had gotten the bigger parts of the story the same way the characters did: through rumors, eyewitness accounts from refugees, the grapevine, whatever. The whole "Oooh, is the show's only black man a good guy or a bad guy?" thing just bored me senseless.
It could have been a good story. It really could have. I had incredibly high hopes after that fantastic moment during the first episode where the woman says to the kid, "Oh, I'm so sorry, I had no idea your parents were in Denver," and he's all, "They weren't. They were in Atlanta." That was a bone-chilling and terrific moment. The rest of the show just never lived up to it.
I don't blame the network for buying the show in the first place; the pilot was flawed but solid. And I certainly don't blame them for canceling it; it turned out to be meandering crap. I blame the writers for sucking so very much during the parts in between. - merper, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Very true about the melodrama, but they were starting to head in the right direction. Two once friendly towns going to war over food? Sounds about right.
But I do agree. The show never gave me a chill past that first episode and the line about his mom being in Atlanta. - TrevorBradley, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Agreed. The mid-season was weak (after the EMP), but things were really starting to get good in the last 4-5 eps.
I'm pissed, I'm gonna miss this show. - Pilgrim, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7@swenciler
Jericho made me look forward to Wednesday night too..now what am I going to do?
***** CBS..I'm not watching any of your ***** shows anymore.
Someone buy Jericho and produce more seasons. And while your at it, buy the rights to Firefly and produce more seasons of it too.
- Dumbledorito, on 10/11/2007, -16/+4I'm sorry, but Jericho was the apocalypse by way of the Hallmark Channel. It was pap. The characters spent too much time at the magical bar that never ran out of booze between times where they rallied together and found the true meaning of community... again.
- nullsmack, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8With all of these channels canceling so many shows in their first season or even early in their first season then they must not want people to actually watch any show until it's in the second or third season. What's the point of watching any new show when it's probably going to be canceled and leave you hanging anyways? Maybe someone should point out to networks that they are shooting themselves in the foot by being so cancel-happy! I certainly won't have any reason to watch CBS now nor trust enough to watch any new show on them in the future.
- realityiswhere, on 10/11/2007, -0/+24I never watch tv usually, but I watched and enjoyed Jericho a lot, this sucks.
- saeedc, on 10/11/2007, -6/+12And now what is CBS going to have left for them? What's their plans for the future? CSI:Bulgaria? Survivor 939 All Stars Turbo Championship Second Edition?
Can you believe "How I met your mother" stays on the air and they ditch Jericho.... WTF planet am I on!? Better yet...WTF planet are they on!?
Maybe they will surprise us with a "How I met your brother" series this fall!
CBS screwed us all by leading us (including the writers of Jericho) to believe that the show would go on and continue, which is why the last episode we saw was a season finale and not a series finale. Now they want to brush it all under the rug and leave all the fans in the dark....oh hell, maybe we won't notice and CSI:Starting Mr T and the A-team will make us forget about Jericho in a few months...
Keep digging the grave CBS.... keep digging...- soul12, on 10/11/2007, -3/+22i happen to find How I Met one of the better sitcoms out there... even outlaughing The Office at times. Bury me if you must but with episodes like slap bet, teenage singing superstar secret, Barneyism, and Willow, this show is very solid.
- fenixconnektion, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10Let's go to the mall, everybody!!!!
- ahawks, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12If I had to choose between How I met your mother and Jericho, even though I absolutely love both, I'd have to pick How I met your mother. I care about the characters more than in Jericho, and Barney is just legend-Wait for it-Dairy!
- calenti, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10
I have to disagree on How I Met Your Mother...it's a funny show. Has the chemistry of Two and a Half Men without the Hustler Kink Korner repartee (which I know, everyone loves, wow isn't American freedom great, fantastic, yes, that's what all those guys got killed in the Bulge for, so we can watch an eleven-year-old make horse d*ck jokes).
CSI:Mi-hammy on the other hand...oy oy oy. Seriously. I'm sure some fanboy will pop up to defend whatever hottie Maxim girl decorates the show, but not even that chick from the DiVinyls in the fishnet body stocking could induce me to sit through an hour of Caruso.
Jericho was a good show. I hope the rumor is just that. And it was especially classy of the writers to explain the bomb plot and offer some kind of resolution at the end of the first season rather than engaging in the rambling narrative of a five year old child extending a story as his/her parent's attention wanes...can't think of any shows like that, seem to have "lost" the name...hyuk hyuk hyuk...
- unkle, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16***** DICKS
i didnt think jericho was great but it was entertaining. now we have no resolution to the invasion and that was going to kick ass (mr hawkins versus the train, the invasion, etc)
wow- miloez, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2yea Jericho was very entertaining, but kinda random, but i still watched it on CBS's site every week... ima miss seeing whats gonna happen :(
- Karted, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Jericho is a pretty good show, Close to home was interesting of what i have seen of it. There are way other crappier shows that should be canceled first.
- Powermac, on 10/11/2007, -0/+31You have got to be ***** kidding me CBS. Jericho was an amazing show, the only reason I watched your ***** network.
- jcm267, on 10/11/2007, -0/+41Jericho was the only show worth watching on CBS... What the *****????? It was a DVR show. WHAT THE *****
- Shaudius, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0I think that's the ultimate problem. While DVR is reported in rating eventually, its not reported in the overnights, making the initial report that I'm sure execs get low. Ultimately I think that's the reason why all the great shows get canceled, people who like great shows are the same ones who have lives to busy to watch shows when they actually air, people who like drek are home every night watching the crap.
It does make sense to not weigh the DVR views as highly though, since you can watch something on another network and still DVR something, and just fast forward through the revenue generating commercial.
That being said I haven't been happy with any of the networks' decisions for the upcoming year. NBC canceled Studio 60(and the Black Donnelly's which only lasted six episodes.) CBS canceled the Class and Jericho(I bet Shark is soon to follow, although it is a courtroom drama so maybe not.) - Lagomorph42, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2The Unit was worth watching too.
- Shaudius, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0I think that's the ultimate problem. - WolfDV, on 10/11/2007, -0/+22They cancelled Jericho . .. WTF!?!?!! , that show was great
- matthall28, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12WTF! CBS is now the new Fox...
- Obitron64, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I am really speachless. I was a huge follower of both the class and jericho!
- ricorick, on 10/11/2007, -0/+24Ghost Whisperer will be back and no Jericho....WTF?!!? seriously? Come on!!! what crap!
- vraicovi, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1I'll be the one to take a beating on this one...
Ghost Whisperer is actually a great show. As is Numbers and pretty much the entire Monday night lineup. - bupublue, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Let's not forget such gems as CSI:NY. I worked for Nielsen Media Research for a while last year, and while plenty of people still watch the original and Miami, NO ONE watched NY. I was really amazed that they brought it back this year. If they bring it back next year and not a show like Jericho that actually has viewership, well, they're just stupid. And I also hate Ghost Whisperer.
- MysticSavage, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Ghost Whisperer is only good with the sound off as JLH's boobies jiggle across your screen...
I'll be in my bunk. - btgoss, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1yeah... that is the worst part of this... a nice show like Jericho doesn't make it... and that other crap gets another year.
- vraicovi, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1I'll be the one to take a beating on this one...
- zaibatsu, on 10/11/2007, -1/+25F@ckers, I love Jericho. I will not download ... uuuuhhh, I mean watch stuff from CBS again.
- weters, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7I want the answers to this show! This is so aggravating. This happened with Surface. I at least want to know what happens, even if the writers come and say this is what they intended to shoot.
- anonym41414, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1You're making an unfounded assumption, I think. It's not at all clear that the writers had any big plan. They were making the story up as they went along. Too many large plot elements got advanced then dropped for there to ever have been a cohesive, complete back-story.
- fiv3isaliv3, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Now that they have room in the line-up they might consider my script for CSI: Farmville.
- GaidinTS, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1The rating systems are crap, and the CBS exec's are imbeciles for listening to them.
- bytor4232, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Yup. NBC understands this. Look at the ratings for The Office, its ranked WAY lower than Jericho, yet NBC ordered 30 more episodes of the series! Why? Because NBC understands that Ratings mean two things, Jack and *****, and Jack ain't that important. The Office is the most downloaded, DVRed, and top selling show on iTunes. Jericho is another show like The Office. People were watching it.
- vanadium77, on 10/11/2007, -0/+20They dropped JERICHO? Holy ***** CBS sucks.
Back to twenty different goddamn crime series and nothing of substance... - anks329, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2It was a great show. I just hope another network picks it up... I want to see the end of it!
- nickarodriguez, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1yah, this is the only place that i've seen this news. TV.com still says that it is on for season 2 and i've seen alot of articles talking about how the writers were going to go in a new direction for season 2. Hopefully this isn't true because I love Jericho!
- AndrewJC, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Well, it's obviously not official yet, so I'll wait until the official announcement. I'll be happy if the rumors about How I Met Your Mother are true, but I'm bummed that we were given such a cliffhanger for the season finale of Jericho, only to have it not return. I've seen too many shows that happened like that recently (anybody else remember Surface on NBC last year?) and I'm sick of it.
- drjekelmrhyde, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Call CBS 212 975 3247
leave a quick voice message on what you think
- drjekelmrhyde, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Call CBS 212 975 3247
- artfuldodga, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6i really liked Jericho! it was just getting really good.
that is not cool. - msmearcheck, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Despite the bad acting, I really liked Jericho. What is CBS doing?
- drjekelmrhyde, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3This was the only show I watched on network TV Next season I think I will go INSANE with no Jericho, no Stargate SG1, no Surface and no Rome.
- jcm267, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4We should all email CBS. If Al Sharpton and his minions can get the best and most influential talk radio host pulled off the air we can get the only half decent show CBS has to stay on the air.
- fenixconnektion, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Thank god they canceled "The Class." It was tough sitting through 10 minutes of that Friends rip-off.
- andrewa, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Jericho is the only tv programme I have watched since I was a kid many years ago - I lost interest in TV about 20 years ago, but this seemed fresh and interesting. However, I was hoping it would not get stretched out, and after the last episode it seeemed in danger of reaching that point - I wish that they would reach a good ending for Jericho and give it a finishing touch to the story - seems like now would be a good opportunity.....
- varunb007, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1Damn, I liked The Class... It reminded me of Friends :(
- vraicovi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Just like Friends, with even worse actors...
- willgonz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2They get rid of the good shows to make room for the crap. Another reason why time slot shows is so old.. Ditch the time slot method. Go with On Demand or IPTV. Come on, this isn't the 1950's anymore.
- kickcows, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2:(
i feel like a browncoat revolution should be started in regards to jericho. maybe a cable channel could pick it up??- JohnUtech, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2SciFi channel anyone?
- saeedc, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Please contact CBS and express your feelings regarding this. Maybe....just maybe.. they will change their minds if there is enough demand:
Phone: 212 975 3247 and 212 975-4114
Email/Feedback (Select Jericho): http://www.cbs.com/info/user_services/fb_global_form.shtml
Please contact them ASAP as they are planning to officially annouce this news on Wedneday (tomorrow). Please spread the word to any known Jericho fans.
If you have any additional contact information please add.- paidhima, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2For what it's worth, I submitted feedback. I have to agree that at times the writing really suffered, and the acting was occasionally...subpar. On the other hand, I really liked the concept, and the storyline left an amazing amount of room for growth. I'm pretty sure they could have picked a better lead than Skeet Ulrich, and yet I *still* watched the show every single week. What a disappointment.
- blueigloo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2@saeedc
I submitted feedback, for what good it will do :( - joflow, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1http://digg.com/television/LET_S_SAVE_JERICHO
If we can get that form on the frontpage, we might can get enough positive submissions to get the attention of CBS execs.
- Blizzard77, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I had a feeling this would happen...they took WAAAAAAAAY to long of a Hiatus mid season.
That really F*cked the ratings. - mdehart, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3"The Unit," "Numbers" "Ghost Whisperer" "Shark." !!!
I guess the new network programming theory is to cancel shows people actually watch so they have "no choice" but to watch the steaming piles they serve up.
I think CBS just lost any "buzz" they ever had. Oh well c'est la vie - djdigital, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1They can't keep Jericho but they can have 3 CSI shows that are all pretty much the same but in different city's????????
Damn CBS really sucks....
We need to use the power of Digg to make CBS know that this is a big mistake.- blueigloo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3power of digg? oh please..
- hofftv, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I really liked Jericho, it was a fun show and it was entertaining. At least something was happening on Jericho and it felt like they were moving somewhere with the show.
Too bad, because this was the only show I watched on CBS. - Autoplectic, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3jericho really needed one more season. just one. too many more and it would have gotten really stupid, but to cut it off here when things were finally getting really interesting was very bad for cbs. dvd sales probably would have been ok and viewership would have risen.
oddly enough i was watching the episode of Dinosaurs where earl becomes head of programming at ABC and cancels all the 'smart' shows and replaces them with test patterns etc. oh the parallels! - matthall28, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2We need some billionare(Cough, Bill Gates, Cough) to spend a few mil on all the great tv shows that have been cancelled(Firefly, Arrested Development etc.) and then release all the eps online for free. Maybe with some ads to make some money but free downloads would be better.
- SeanFM, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I loved Jericho, I hope someone from CBS is cool enough to check out Digg and see how popular the show is.
- Ezekiel25:17, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I will definitely miss Jericho. That was my second favorite show. Favorite being Heroes.
- JohnUtech, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Jericho was the only CBS show I watched, and the first show I watched on my DVR. DAMN YOU CBS!
- LibrarianAnna, on 10/11/2007, -5/+2Okay....I hate to say it but I love all of the CSI's - they all are great in their own way...and I wholly support CBS (mondays: How I Met your Mother, Two and a half Men, THE CLASS :-(, CSI:Miami; Tuesdays: NCIS; Wednesday: CSI: NY; Thursday: CSI) And mind you, I work part time and am finishing my masters Full-time.....But why did they have to cancel the Class?? I only saw a few episodes of Jericho but I don't really care of the mystery's that carry on through out the entire series - I lose interest (and facts/information) quickly.
Soooo sad :-(- wjadams, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1It's a shame they canceled The Class. They really should cancel The New Adventures of Old Christine. Julia Louis Dreyfus hasn't been funny since....hmmm....oh wait NEVER!!
