No, whenever we see the star of david we automatically digg down because of the reputation you have given yourself with your useless comment spam. Just because we dont like you as a person does not mean you need to wrap yourself in the protection of your religion in order to invalidate our criticisms as entirely based on your religion. If anything, you are the anti-semite as you are cheapening the value and sanctity of the jewish faith by so casually USING it as a tool to set yourself immune to oversight by your peers. Be a man and take the "bury"'s as they are rather than wuss'ing out by deflecting it into a matter of religion, its sad.

I'd like to know how the hell rivers parents got so far out of touch.

Back OT, I was going to say that there's always the possibility of some sort of pre-season 1, season. Pretty much. Yes, junkmail02, of course racism is still around and still a horrible thing, but the comment "Whenever I see that star of David, I automatically want to digg down" was about the symbol being associated with you and your comments, not about religion. If your icon was Peter from Family Guy, he would have said "Whenever I see Peter from Family Guy, I automatically want to digg down."
You know that perfectly well, so going and claiming "anti-Semite!" about it is a pretty poor long shot. - TheSolomon, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6junkmail02- I'm sorry, but I seriously doubt the religious conviction, religious understanding, and religion itself of anyone claiming to be Jewish who uses the phrase "wow, you really crossed the line, or should i say star?" He 'crossed the star?!?!?!' I believe my Jewish friends and any other religiously well-informed person I know would be ashamed for you. Your asinine banter has caused me to add you to my blocked list. Goodbye.

In my opinion, Serenity was a season ender if they make a second season, and a show ender if they don't. I thought they could continue the show pretty easily, just have the other experiment people hunting them down. I thought that is where they were going with the last episode, that bounty hunter did seem some what crazy.
SPOILER WARNING (If you haven't seen it yet):

There were only three people who died in it, one wasn't even in the show (Mr. Universe), so he wouldn't need to be replaced. Rev. Book left the ship just as Inara did, so there isn't any real need for him to be replaced. It can be assumed that River is the pilot now, so they have all the needed people in my opinion. If they wanted to add someone they couldn't add another Preacher or pilot, since they would be too obviously replacements. - pabloD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Sorry, but NO ONE can replace my boy Wash.

- zybch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15And for good reason. That show/movie ***** rocked (well not so much the movie, but it was still better than 90% of th ***** sci-fi out there)
- Margh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16I don't see why everybody pays out on Serenity. Granted it was the character development of the whole series compressed into a movie which you know, killed half the characters, but it was still a damn good movie by my standards and a good gateway into watching Firefly.
- Wonotch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+41I still think the part in the movie when the Alliance and Reaver fleets collide is one of the most jaw dropingly awesome space battles in sci-fi history. Not only does it take place right at the edge of the planet, with Serenity barreling through it all... but man, when that massive fleet of half-chewed apart cruisers comes hurtling out of that ion cloud... holy ***** on a stick.
- pabloD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Wonotch. . . hellz yeah. IMO the only other two moments in recent sci-fi-dom that come close are when Galactica jumps into New Caprican atmo to launch Vipers, and when Pegasus comes to the rescue, both in Exodus Part 2.
- hayleysongbird, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I was an avid Buffy/Angel watcher but never watched Firefly. When Serenity came out I went to see it just to support Joss and fell in love with the story. I can't believe i missed it the first time!

Fox really screwed up by only having one season of it....
not to mention how they pretty much did the same thing to Arrested Development (the best show ever)- greg9683, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5But then some other smart network could pick up the show if they wanted to. So you can still have hope out there!
- Jolene, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Man, Summer Glau is such a great actress! (And damn is she beautiful.) She plays the progression of River Tam's degrading mental state so well! I will admit that these clips aren't as good as her full on roles as River in the show and movie, but she is still really great here.
I really liked how the clips were grainy and in black and white. It made it seem like it was actually a security clip. It gave it more realism.
I know this is kinda bad, but I really hope Summer doesn't get anymore big roles. I've seen her as River and loved her in that role, if I saw her as anyone else, I would just see River. I'm weird like that. Like Joaquin Phoenix, when I saw him in Gladiator as Commodus, I just hated him so much. He played the role so well, he just made me hate him like the character he was playing was actually him. Now everything I see him in, I hate him, just cause of that role.- MacGeekPro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Summer Glau is progressing into a more central role in the USA Network series "The 4400." Sorry to have burst your bubble.
- dlbear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28You'd be pressed to find a better-looking cast than this...

she's also had a semi-recurring role in The Unit. - overbored454, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Summer Glau has a recurring role on USA's "The 4400". It's a pretty good show. It's no Firefly, but you do have Summer featuring in a few episodes and starring in one of them.
- BLayman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Summer Glau had a recurring role as a young army wife named "Crystal" on CBS's The Unit. She's becoming almost a regular. Her story line is growing more important to the show now, but it is hard to watch her play a "normal" young girl. I'm afraid the next season will bring her some rough times...
Have you seen her offical site?
http://www.summerglau.co.uk/
Some of the glamour shots make her amost look like Inara.
Also have you all seen the action figures coming out in the spring? they're great. I'd post a link to the image on my site but I don't wan't to get buried. Search for serenity action figures and I'm sure you'll find something. I've already checked at the local comic shop. He's not sure if he'll carry them but he confirmed I can special order them.

Either way, I hope they make a second season (and third, and fourth, etc.) and ignore the movie. I mean, it was definitely worth a watch, but without the characters it'd be tough... plus, I don't like the way they took it.
Steve the pirate FTW!- misterpony, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Agreed. I've been using a Morena avatar for awhile now...
- DevilDunkard, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I would like to see a series about Mal in "Browncoat/Alliance War". I would really like to see that angle. However, I think they could keep going with the series from where the movie left off. Serenity flys, so we still have the firefly ship. Wash is dead, so we need a new pilot and maybe another preacher. Kaylee is with the doctor, so there is your relationship angle. Zoe has her loss to add to the plot. Plus you know the alliance is going to be pissed. I will really miss Wash and The Shepherd, but I think it would be really cool. Well, I can wish in one hand and ***** in the other, see which gets filled first.

Yeah, same here. I didn't discover this show until recently. I now own the series, the movie, and the soundtrack, Fox sucks. They really screwed the pooch on this one, showing the PILOT LAST! Showing other episodes out of order, and never showing the last episodes. It was doomed by Fox, it never had a chance.
It sure did suck to lose those characters, but on the other hand every character in the show was so interesting I'm sure Joss could cast some great new people to fill the roles. Wash was a much heavier loss because you got to know him more, and he was a more innocent/childlike character. - zybch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1ByteGuerilla.well they were wrong. There is a block button you can use to never see them again. I use it pretty liberally. - jstohler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Great show, but River was always the least interesting part. I can't imagine watching a video based around her.

- jake8689, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1lets use are good old digg efect to see if we can get a mini seris on the sci-fi channel or somthing
- overbored454, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This will only be any good if _everyone_ involved in the production of the original series returns and I am sure that most of the talent, on screen and off, is contractually bound to other activities right now, unfortunately. As it is, the series and its complimenting movie stand as a single work of art.
Fidgeting with it might be along the lines of trying to add a little bit more to the Mona Lisa.
Not that I think it couldn't be done, but if the right people are not involved, what you end up with is garbage. Firefly deserves better.

- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Cowboys and Indians in space...the Reavers are the least plausible enemy ever. They would be too busy killing each other to actually operate spacecraft and plan cunning traps. Just stupid.
- Stopher, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1My theory about Shepard Book is that he was the alliance officer who ordered the attack on Serenity Valley. He took Mals faith then helped to give it back to him.
- theonetruebix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So, yeah, session416.com is my web server at home, which obviously isn't playing very well with the Digg Effect. Heh. At any rate, the Internet Archive-hosted mov also appears to be timing out now (that's what I embed on the site).
You can also see these clips on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKYFNsnO-tc
And the session416.com site also hosts a file detailing the history of these clips' production and release back in the summer of 2005, but, obviously, you likely won't be able to get to that right now either.- Hubris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sorry for your month-end bandwidth bill...
- theonetruebix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Now, that would suck. But in this case not an issue anyway. My bill is the same, regardless. Heh.
- MadOgre, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3You can't stop the signal. Firefly gets my digg. Always will.
