LOST's Producer Breaks "Radio Silence" to Reveal Why Charlie Died and More

eonline.com — [via TVSquad] Damon Lindelof played a Q/A with E! Online. I'm not sure that what he reveals in the interview can be counted as spoilers, since he's the co-creator and exec producer of the show and I would think he'd avoid spoiling anything about next season, soif you're paranoid, dont follow the link. Unless you REALLY want to know about next year!

      Speaking of his death, I'm really pissed off by how they killed him off. His death is riddled with dumbass moves by him. Not only that, its also illogical, because an air pocket would have formed. I have no problem with the producers killing off beloved characters, just as long as they do it right.

Nothing is straightforward in Lost, Desmond said Charlie was going to die like 5 other times but those were prevented, I honestly thought Charlie might make it into next season. Time and time again, he wasn't ready to die, yet death kept stalking him. There was all this talk about how it was inevitable. Then last week, we saw that charlie was actually comfortable with accepting his fate. I figured it was going to be one of those cases of "when you don't want it, it keeps coming at you....when you finally do want it, you can't find it anymore". (kind of like women finding you attractive when you are single vs married/in a relationship)

  • gendjinn, on 10/11/2007, -9/+2After a year of pestering and guilting by a buddy of mine I reluctantly watched Lost, I had built up a large debt of recommendations he'd followed up on so I owed him. I "watched" s1, s2 and what was out of s3 on one monitor while I worked on another, it's generally how I work one track of my mind playing, the other coding. Anyways, I despised Charlie from the get go and was delighted to see the hobbit being disposed of. His imminent death was the sole reason I bothered watching the rest of s3. I won't be returning for s4.
