- Surferess, on 07/07/2008, -1/+2FTA "They want you to pay extra for ... drinkable water — even for “free” award tickets"
How can they charge for free award tickets? As a matter of fact what IS a free award ticket? - industryfinest, on 07/07/2008, -1/+1great

What next charge us for the air we breath in the cabin?
YTT12 - Ypartnership, on 07/07/2008, -0/+2Great tips! And sheesh... isn't drinkable water on an airplane is a medical necessity? I've heard health recommendations that passengers should drink at least a 1/2-quart of water for every two hours airborne...
- drjglobal, on 07/07/2008, -0/+3Boycott is still the strongest form of protest. Why do people still give the offending airlines their business?
While articles like yours are appreciated and help keep us aware of what is going on, all the complaining in the world isn't discouraging the airlines from pushing ahead with their unfriendly customer tactics and prices.
The only message they will understand is 'no passengers'. As long as people will still fly with them, they have no reason to rethink these outrageous policies and price increases. - lastory, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1 GREAT ideas. highly useful.. I think it's a great piece
- me4yankees, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1Thank you, Chris! I agree that the best possible policy is to take your business elsewhere. And if you are already booked, BYO-something. I recently spend an hour on the tarmac twice on a small prop plane operated by US Airways Express, which cannot be kept cool unless both props are kept running. We had to have water to be able to bear the heat. I can only imagine charging for it in such conditions. What an outrage.
- l0k0, on 07/08/2008, -0/+2If fuel costs are the problem, then just increase the ticket prices. Don't nickle and dime people for unrelated services/necessities.
- cruiseranne, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1Boycot US Airways for sure and fly Continental or Delta, which doesn't charge extra for checked bags.
