The cars are car-ing and the statues are statu-ing. - BabyWookie, on 06/03/2008, -0/+3The 60's, during the Khrushchev's "thaw" were the golden age of the USSR. At that time, many still believed that they were going to succeed in building a Communist paradise. This was followed by the stagnation of Brezhnev's rule.
- xero69, on 06/03/2008, -1/+3Interesting how there are almost no billboards or advertisements in these photos. Makes me wish we were a little more strict on outdoor advertising here in the states.
- tehbored, on 06/04/2008, -0/+2Yeah, though the few billboards that do exist just show the faces of communist leaders.
- ordig, on 06/04/2008, -0/+2Sao Paulo Brazil banned all outdoor advertising last year.

- tehbored, on 06/04/2008, -0/+4Damn, them commies sure knew how to keep everything sparkling clean.
