- MikeonTV, on 07/11/2008, -3/+28Before you start with all the anti Canada jabber please remember that it is the USA who will not allow Tim back in.
- Surferess, on 07/11/2008, -4/+4Oh you Canadians are so touchy! lol
- zaibatsu, on 07/11/2008, -0/+7I have Paul's phone number, but he hasn't answered. We also tried texting him. We're waiting for more details. Does anyone have resources that might allow us to track the cell?
- thinkingserious, on 07/11/2008, -0/+3I remember coming back from Canada on a bus tour and the US Border agents being especially nasty.
- zaibatsu, on 07/11/2008, -0/+13Update from Paul: hey bud! thanks for your concern. we have gave up on getting tim back in
the states. but just in case i will tell you the cliff notes of what
happend. back in 2001 tim over stayed his stay by 3 days. it was a few
weeks after 9/11 and things were crazy, so he had a hard time getting a
flight out. when we were coming back to the US from the Niagra Falls/Canada
side they found out that he over stayed for 3 days and did not let him back
in the states. i think the monk get up may have made it harder on the whole
process. so now he is in canada with no cash and no flight. he has a
flight that flies out on the 18th of this month from NYC. One more thing is
that he had a visa that if they decide revoke it he can not contest it. I
know i'm not really being clear but that is all the info I have. - DariusMonsef, on 07/11/2008, -0/+5sorry Reg, but how exactly did you imagine diggers would have any impact on border control?
- zaibatsu, on 07/12/2008, -0/+7I just want to help the guy out, he's helped so many people. Maybe some food, a place to crash ect.
- zaibatsu, on 07/12/2008, -0/+3An update on the Social Monks: here's where Tim is http://tinyurl.com/5q7b6r
- bixby1, on 07/12/2008, -0/+2Help is on the way in the form of a digg. It's the best I got here, Tim the monk.
- nothing4me, on 07/12/2008, -0/+0I like how he waved his hand. :]
- nbx909, on 07/12/2008, -1/+1I'm confused. Did they not have passports or birth certs + ID or a way to obtain a copy of them?
- zaibatsu, on 07/12/2008, -0/+1Thanks everyone for all your help with the Social Monks and Tim.
It looks like everything has worked out
Hey guys just wanted to give you an update. I believe Tim is taken care of. Nate (camera man) and me gave him all our food and some cash. He is staying at a hostel right now and the guy is not charging him anything to stay there. Also Tim's girl friend is heading out to Canada to meet up with him and she will also give him a ride to the Toronto Airport. He was also able to get a flight back to London. Don't worry about trying to get attention for the whole border thing. We have enough footage to make a killer documentary. As for our viral videos that we were doing we found a way to salvage them and make them funny. The viral videos might even be better then we originally planned because of the new twist of Tim getting stuck in Canada. We are doing pretty good for this being the beta video blog version.
I will be heading home with nearly no cash I'm not telling you that to get donations but rather to tell you it should be pretty entertaining to watch me get home. I'm debating to wear the monk suit home. Its just not the same with out mini monk aka tim. Also I'm ready to take a break from being the freak everybody looks at.
Nate and I just got to NYC and we are already heading to Boston by bus. They have internet on the bus! I just wanted to thank you guys for all your help. I'm absolutely in love with social media and the main reason I love it so much is because of people like you guys.
If some one could forward this on to Jay and Andy, I would appreciate it. I can not find thier emails.
Look forward to chatting with you guys in the future. My cell phone maybe getting cancled so email and skype will be the best way to get a hold of me- Zalyster, on 07/13/2008, -0/+1...I'm still confused. WTF is this all about, anyway?
