It's the Higgs field that causes mass to particles interacting with it, the Higgs boson is a quantum of this field that also gets is mass from the Higgs field. No, I don't really understand it either. (see comment)

There's a number of constraints, the most important being color neutrality. There are 12 quarks, the 6 you named and the according antiquarks. Quarks can have color charge red, green or blue (whatever you want to name it, it's not important). Three colors … (see comment)

Lol at the bad headline, there's no upstage here. Simply found another particle of literally hundreds that was entirely expected and just had to be shown to exist. And the discovery was announced one or two weeks ago. (see comment)

Yes, I googled it. Even better, in Firefox 2, with the Search box (Ctrl+K) you can type a number with units and the suggestion dropdown will already contain a conversion. Works as a calculator function as well! (see comment)
