I have run into more people on the right who are afraid of the "revival of the Fairness Doctrine." I had heard of it only vaguely and thought it only applied to political advertising but was no longer enforced or something. This article points out that the Fairness Doctrine died 20 years ago and there are no proponents to bring it back. I assumed someone in Congress supported it since I was hearing so much about it, but didn't think it was serious since I only heard about it from the Freepers or WND readers. As it turns out no one has even mentioned it in Congress. It has been completely manufactured by one of the right wing commentators and was taken on by the rest of them. Geez. Nothing can be assumed to be true any more. I mean NOTHING.

One of my friends asked me to resend the list of links to diggs by some of the wingnut sites, so am including my list below. Added to since it was sent to me and the last time I shared it and I have new friends who may not have it.

Tip for Firefox users (not sure how it would work in other browsers):

1 - Create a folder on your toolbar then click on each link.
2 - When the page comes up, drag the URL into that folder.
3 - After you have done that for each link, in the future, all you have to do is click on the folder and Firefox will open each page in a new tab so you can quickly check for new disinformation and smear campaigns.
