Like Doom and Quake and everything that runs in WINE? ..I got my Ubuntu Dell as a gaming machine, and I'm doing just fine without windows. A mac user would be the exact same thing, except they pay twice as much. (see comment)

That's total crap, because linux outperforms windows and allows greater hardware flexibility at the same time. I'd bet Ubuntu outperforms OSX as well. The trick is a monolithic code base, not lack of freedom in hardware. (see comment)

I only bought an Inspiron 1420n because it comes with Ubuntu. $1020 machine before coupons, came to $870. I may have paid a premium for Ubuntu, but time is worth money, so it's worth it. ..hopefully we'll get my mom's 1525n ordered soon. (see comment)

I actually submitted a pic of me to microsofts thing with "I'm a PC and I use Ubuntu." Their people missed it and let me in, but I didn't have a good video camera to put up a 5 second video :( (see comment)
