For the record his work is not HDR. I've talked to him about it. He uses Graduated Neutral Density filters which is another way of expanding dynamic range. Because he writes about HDR doesn't mean he's actually employing it. It's a common point of confusi … (see comment)

Actually the pic is of a dolphin behind a wave. Dolphins are hardly dangerous. This pic was widely discussed when it came out and the photographer was quite explicit in detailing the looming presence was actually a dolphin. (see comment)

Actually its quite the opposite. The author retains the most power over his work with a straight copyright license. But we may have different interpretations of what "power over ones work" is. (see comment)
